Rebirth in the 90s: Her Counterattack and Redemption

Chapter 913: Chapter 551: Persuasion / Marriage? / Change

In a small private room in Lan Gui Fang.

Su Sha and her younger sister Su Miao were chatting idly. As it was getting late, Su Miao, still somewhat reluctant to end the day, suggested, ”Sis, how about we eat out?”

Su Sha thought for a moment, ”Sure, let me call home.”

Su Miao lazily leaned onto the chair back, ”Our oldest is on a business trip, the youngest is abroad, and I’m the most relaxed. Sis, since you’re also semi-retired, how about we designate one day each week for us to go out and do some SPA, to relax.

At this age, if we don’t treat ourselves well, we’ll age quickly. It’s so unfair; men in their forties are still charming and likable, while women turn into old housewives. You say...”

Having connected the call, Su Sha gestured to Su Miao and softened her voice, ”Mom, Su Miao and I are together, so we won’t be home for dinner... I understand, I’ll be back soon.”

”What happened? Did something happen?” Su Miao asked worriedly.

Su Sha smiled wryly, ”My future daughter-in-law is here. I have to go back for dinner.”

Su Miao let out a long breath, ”You scared me, I thought something else happened. Look at you, all sour. Right, I haven’t met Ye’er. Why not... I’ll go back with you, besides, it’s been a long time since I saw Uncle Ye and Aunt Ye. I miss them, so it’s a good chance to see them.”

”Sure, since you’re going back alone anyway.” Su Sha said as she stood up, ”Let’s go, Ye’er still has to go back to the hotel tonight. My mother-in-law wants me to go back early.”

”Pathetic!” Su Miao hugged her shoulders and walked out, ”It’s been so many years, and you’re still all sour, Sis, not to be mean, but you’re just torturing yourself.

Xiao Xuan and Ye’er being together is only good for you. Let me put it this way, if Xiao Xuan and Ye’er get married, do you still need to worry about your husband and Wen Xin?”

”Su Miao, I never worried they would have anything. If Wen Xin were interested in Ye Jia’an, I wouldn’t have married him back then. Besides, I can see the relationship between Wen Xin and Luo Zhenggang quite clearly. Honestly, as a woman, I really admire her, and am also... jealous of her.

The hurdle I can’t get over is that Ye Jia’an still loves her. Many times I’ve tried to convince myself not to think about the past, but as long as I see Luo Ye’s face that resembles Wen Xin’s, I can’t stay calm.

To tell you something you might laugh about, after Xiao Xuan canceled the engagement, I really felt a huge sense of relief, but Xiao Xuan has such a strong character. Once he’s decided on something, he won’t change his mind, not even with a knife to his throat. If he gets married, and I still can’t adjust, what will I do?”

Su Miao gave her a sideways glance, ”Make your peace with it!”

Su Sha was unhappy, pinched her sister, ”If this happened to you, you wouldn’t be able to let it go either. A husband who’s been by your side for over twenty years loves another woman. Tell me, can you swallow that pride?”

Su Miao turned serious, ”Sis, remember when I advised you to think it through before getting married? You pounded your chest and said you didn’t care, and that within a year, he’d definitely love you.

And what happened? Every time you argued with your husband, you remind him of this matter. To be blunt, the reason your husband can’t forget Wen Xin is entirely because of your antics.

Take my advice, stop creating drama. Life is short, passing in the blink of an eye. Have a proper conversation with your husband to avoid future regrets.”

Su Sha sighed with a bitter smile, ”It’s easy to say, but how can you untie a knot that’s been there for over twenty years?”

”Then start by trying to get along well with Luo Ye. Stop being so changeable. Since you know Xiao Xuan likes her and is determined to marry her, as a mother-in-law, you have to treat her well.

Sis, although I’ve never met her, the fact that everyone in the Ye Family likes that little girl must mean she’s great. Which of the elders in the Ye Family is easy to fool?”

”Of course I know Ye’er is a rare good girl. Otherwise, Xiao Xuan wouldn’t be so devoted...” Su Sha irritably waved her hand, ”Forget it, let’s not talk about it anymore. I understand the logic, but I just can’t control myself. I’ll try to adjust.”

”That’s more like it.” Su Miao patted her on the shoulder, ”Ye’er’s mother and your husband have no substantial ties. Only when you truly let go can everyone get along comfortably.”

”I know.” Su Sha smiled bitterly, ”To be honest, I’ve talked with Wen Xin alone. I must admit, she’s a woman more appealing to men than I am—gentle, understanding, and beautiful. It’s no wonder Ye Jia’an has always been unable to forget her.”
