Rebirth in the 90s: Her Counterattack and Redemption

Chapter 914: Chapter 551: Persuasion / Marriage? / Change_2

Su Miao looked helpless: ”I just praised you, how come you’re back to your old habits?”

”I’m being honest.” Su Sha looked seriously at her sister. ”Honestly speaking, I really feel that in terms of being a woman, she’s better than me.”

”The way you put it, I’m even more eager to meet Ye’er now.” As they spoke, the two arrived at the parking lot. Seeing Su Sha heading towards her car, Su Miao grabbed her, ”Sis, given your skills, you better leave your car here first and ride my car.”

”Alright then. I should’ve known better than to send the driver back.” Su Sha added, ”I drive slow, but it’s safe.”

”Safe? You even scraped someone’s rear bumper. If it wasn’t safe, would anyone have survived?”

Su Sha: ”That was just an accident, geez, why are you so hasty?”

”Can you blame me? I’m about to meet the legendary niece-in-law. Can I not be anxious?”

”...”

...

Ye Family main hall.

Luo Ye carefully trimmed Old Madam Ye’s nails, massaged them with nutrient oil, while Nanny Sun came out with juice and couldn’t help but say: ”Madam, you are truly blessed.”

Old Madam Ye chuckled: ”Shuyun, have Xiao Peng bring home his girlfriend soon, then you won’t have to envy me.”

Nanny Sun waved her hands repeatedly: ”With the likes of him, how can he compare to the young master?”

Old Madam Ye turned serious: ”Shuyun, what’s wrong with Xiao Peng? Remember, never say such things in front of the child, it can hurt his feelings.”

”Madam, I know, I know, I’m quite mindful of that. If you don’t have any other instructions, I’ll head to the kitchen.”

”Go ahead.” The old lady waved her hand, then urgently stopped her, ”Remember, ask them to use less oil when cooking, Ye’er doesn’t like greasy food.”

Nanny Sun quickly responded: ”Madam, we all remember.”

Luo Ye gave the old lady a sweet smile: ”Grandma, you treat me so well.”

”Ye’er is so lovable, who else should I be good to if not Ye’er?” The old lady’s eyes narrowed in laughter, though she sighed soon after, ”I wonder if I’ll have the chance to hold a great-grandchild.”

”Grandma!” Luo Ye blurted out, her face turning red, noticing Grandpa Ye peeking over the newspaper, and Mou Ye’s face started heating up like boiling crabs.

”Little Ye’er is shy?” Old Madam Ye pinched her granddaughter-in-law’s pink cheek, ”Ye’er, grandma doesn’t mean to pressure you. Given your age, grandma is just expressing some feelings. Ye’er isn’t allowed to be angry with grandma, but...” The old lady stopped short.

”But what?” Luo Ye asked, puzzled.

Old Madam Ye glanced at Old Master Ye: ”Let your grandpa speak.”

”Ahem!” Old Master Ye coughed heavily, put down the newspaper, picked up the teacup and took a sip, then another sip, and one more sip... The old lady got annoyed: ”Is speaking so difficult? Let me do it.”

”Actually, let me say it.” Old Master Ye turned his gaze to Luo Ye with a smile, ”Here’s the thing, um, Ye’er, grandpa said, if you don’t agree, just refuse outright. Grandpa and grandma absolutely don’t mean to force you.”

”What is it exactly, please tell me.” Luo Ye was even more confused.

”After the New Year, Ye’er will be 19 years old, Xiao Xuan 26 years old. Honestly, given Ye’er’s young age and not yet graduated, discussing marriage seems inappropriate.

However, although Great Grandpa looks vigorous, he is after all in his nineties. His favorites are Ye’er and Xiao Xuan, and if he could see Ye’er and Xiao Xuan get married soon, perhaps it would benefit his health even more.

Ye’er, both grandpa and grandma have pondered over this for a long time, yet have never mustered the courage to discuss it with you. Since it’s mentioned today, might as well bring it up.

If Ye’er finds it feasible, grandma and I will take your father-in-law and mother-in-law to propose to your parents, then we can visit Grandpa together and settle on a date, how about it?”

Luo Ye was stunned for quite a while before processing this news, hesitated a bit, then asked: ”Grandpa, grandma, does Ye Xuan know about this?”

”He knows.” Old Master Ye nodded, ”We discussed it with him when he was in touch with the family before, but he rejected it.

He said Ye’er is too young, and he doesn’t want to push Ye’er. Grandma and I actually think, given Ye’er and Xiao Xuan’s career nature, they’ll often be apart, might as well get married now.”

With this said, Luo Ye finally understood their implication, basically to marry and have children before she’s overwhelmed with her career so that regardless of whether she chooses family or career later on, there won’t be much conflict.
