She Lives without Regret in This Life

Chapter 66: Chapter 066 New Friends

The next day, Sheng Ning got up early as usual, while Zhang Hongmei exceptionally didn’t get up to sweep the floor. After finishing an hour of yoga and freshening up, the others in the room gradually woke up.

As the loud bugle call for waking up sounded, everyone in the room quickly headed out for morning exercises.

Once they left the room, Zhao Feifei disappeared somewhere, and Wu Youli quietly approached Sheng Ning with a hesitant look.

“Just spill it if you have something to say!”

“Sheng Ning… do you still remember what happened last night?”

Sheng Ning’s eyes, like pools of autumn water, fixed on Wu Youli unwaveringly.

The eighteen or nineteen-year-old girl’s cheeks turned red as an apple under her gaze.

After a long pause, Sheng Ning said meaningfully, “What do you think?” She knew she couldn’t keep anything from Wu Youli; the girl might seem timid, but she was actually smart and knew quite a lot.

Zhao Feifei was sharp-tongued and, to put it bluntly, a bit mindless and easily manipulated by others, and she would bully the weak but fear the strong. Hong Mei was kind-hearted, but she had been bullied since childhood in her hometown and thus lacked her own opinion.

Wu Youli immediately understood the meaning behind her words. Her cheeks, rosy like apples, glowed with a healthy sheen that made one unable to resist the urge to bite.

She looked around cautiously and, upon realizing no one was paying attention, whispered, “You did the right thing, I support you. Feifei is too willful, and if we don’t deal with her, she will definitely disturb everyone’s sleep every day. Scaring her this time will probably calm her down.”

“You’re not mad at me, are you?”

“You didn’t lie to me, so I’m not mad at you,” Wu Youli shook her head and shyly smiled, “I find you’re quite a good person, and you have a lot of talent for performance. I think you should join our drama group.”

“You’re also very good, not easily believing other people’s rumors.”

“My uncle says that rumors are stopped by the wise,” Wu Youli’s face turned even redder, Sheng Ning’s eyes like the crescent moon filled with autumn water. When they blinked and looked at someone, they made it hard for the person not to blush nervously.

Wu Youli roughly understood why so many people disliked her.

“Haha… can we be friends then?”

“Of… of course we can.”

After the morning run, Sheng Ning followed the crowd from the Song and Dance Troupe toward the practice room. As she was about to enter the main entrance, she instinctively glanced in the direction of the building next door.

Not seeing the person she hoped to see, there was an indescribable sourness in her heart.

In the past, she had always been a loner, but today she made a new friend, which lifted her spirits and encouraged her to silently cheer herself on.

Work hard, and everything will get better.

Xu Qigang may not like you, but please do not give up easily.

As she entered the main gate, Wu Youli waved to her with a smile, “Let’s go to the cafeteria together at noon!”

The friendship between the two girls developed swiftly, sharing a little secret. They agreed to do laundry together, go to the cafeteria for meals together, and run together in the mornings. Any trivial matter could increase a mystifying fondness and acceptance of the other person.

Sheng Ning responded with a smile, “Alright, I’ll come find you after I finish.”

The drama group was on the third floor; Wu Youli hurriedly ran upstairs.

The Song and Dance Troupe occupied the first, second, and fourth floors. Today they had a physical form class with Coach Qiu Bai, so Sheng Ning went directly to Practice Room 3 on the first floor.

Upon entering, Sheng Ning swept a glance over the room; all the members of her group were there except Qin Cuifen, which immediately gave her a bad feeling.

She frowned in thought, feeling like she had neglected something.
