She Lives without Regret in This Life

Chapter 58: Chapter 058: Hope Field

The Song and Dance Troupe’s group was actually subdivided into specialized singers, specialized dancers, and a separate instrumental group.

In total, there were three departments, each divided into ten five-person teams. Unless rehearsing for a large-scale dance or musical, responsible coaches would select the best from these three departments.

Regular training was conducted according to individual expertise.

The Song and Dance Troupe had many members, but the annual mission of performances was also heavy. Now that the National Day had just passed, there would be no performance tasks for the next two months. However, the training tasks remained heavy; it was rumored that something big was being prepared.

All of this was what Zhang Hongmei had told Sheng Ning.

She stood among the crowd, carefully pondering what this so-called big thing could be. Before she could figure it out, she saw a slender and graceful figure.

It was Coach Qiu Bai!

Sheng Ning’s eyes lit up as she remembered. Qiu Bai was going to rehearse a large musical, “Hope Field”. In her previous life, the first successful performance of “Hope Field” had taken the city and the art world by storm. The leading actors of the musical saw their status rise significantly, not only successfully getting promoted but also earning opportunities for further study.

Sheng Ning felt her heart pounding wildly. In her past life, she had missed “Hope Field” due to a foot injury, leaving her with lifelong regret.

This time, she was determined to give everything to fight for it.

Following Qiu Bai were the stern-faced Yang Wenying and several cadres of the Song and Dance Troupe. It appeared they had come from other training rooms, one by one.

“Attention!” commanded Lu Xiaoshuang with a powerful voice.

“Hello, Chief!”

“At ease!”

Yang Wenying’s stern gaze swept over the crowd, finally landing on Sheng Ning. After a pause, she said, “Today, I am here mainly for three things. First, regarding the lax discipline of the Song and Dance Troupe, I believe everyone is aware of it. But knowing isn’t enough; it must be followed. Anyone who dares to break the rules from now on will be immediately expelled.”

The crowd watched Yang Wenying with solemn expressions. Though fear gripped their hearts, not a single one dared to show discontent.

“The second matter is about our troupe’s overall quality.” Yang Wenying’s disdain was palpable, her words piercing. “Look at your overall quality! Each one of you is floppy. If we say you’re from the General Union Dance Troupe, it’s simply disgraceful, tarnishing the union’s reputation.”

Many young and fiery girls blushed and had necks stiff with anger, but they didn’t dare to utter a word.

“What, am I wrong? How many of you were qualified when you first joined? Don’t think that you can skip training.”

“Report!” Lu Xiaoshuang raised her hand in defiance.

“Speak!”

“Our performance tasks are heavy, and we still have to train in basic skills; there is simply no time.”

Yang Wenying laughed coldly, her thin lips curling into a mocking arc.

Sheng Ning secretly gave Yang Wenying a thumbs-up in her heart—powerful, indeed, she was Master Extinction.

“Sheng Ning, step forward,” Yang Wenying suddenly called her name.

Sheng Ning was stunned for a moment, then quickly stepped forward, “Here!”

“Tell us if you have time to train usually?” As soon as these words were out, all eyes turned to Sheng Ning. Some looked gloating, others fiercely threatening, and some showed sympathy and pity.
