I Can Gain One Skill Point Per Second

Chapter 748: Omniscient-Friendly Instance Mechanics

Not to mention the twelve materials with names that make them seem elusive, just the star cores from six different level planets are quite a challenge.

Before Lin Yi appeared, Blue Star truly didn’t have a strong one who could reach this step.

You get what you pay for, and that’s no joke.

This Myriad Phenomena Retribution Chest Armor is indeed tough to activate, but once its effects are activated and strengthened to the top level, while I can’t speak for the higher planes, in the lower planes, you can definitely walk sideways without any problems.

The effects of this equipment are certainly extraordinary, yet for Lin Yi, it’s not the best choice.

Lin Yi still prefers combat methods with more operation, methods of standing and taking hits to win, he’s not particularly fond of.

Besides, Lin Yi currently has no way to strengthen the Myriad Phenomena Retribution Chest Armor to the top level.

Clearing the Descent Abyss dungeon to fifty levels and above as soon as possible is the priority.

The dungeon on Descent Abyss level 44 is called Deadly Puppet Show.

According to the strategy description, this dungeon is recommended for solo clearing.

Because the team members, except for the leader, will all be forcibly pulled into the audience seats.

As for the team leader themselves, they will enter the game as a puppet controller and compete with the Puppet Master in the dungeon in puppet manipulation.

In other words, this dungeon is not about strength, but about the player’s intelligence and control over the battle situation.

The next morning, Lin Yi activated the flying skill, bringing his three teammates to a rundown pavilion twenty li away from the coastline.

It is said that a thousand years ago, it was a place where two great chess players played.

After the power of Descent Abyss appeared to pollute Blue Star, this place became the special Descent Abyss dungeon — Deadly Puppet Show.

After forming the team, Lin Yi directly took out the Descent Invitation, taking the three of them into the level 44 Descent Abyss dungeon, Deadly Puppet Show.

As is common when entering a dungeon, as the four of them entered, the dungeon announcement sounded right away.

However, unlike ordinary dungeon entries, the first content of the dungeon announcement was to welcome Lin Yi.

[Welcome, esteemed Blue Star Will ruler, Dragon God War God Lin Yi, to the dungeon]

[With your strength, you can directly clear the dungeon with an SSS rating. Would you like to clear it directly?]

Say what you will, this title of Will Ruler is really useful when running Descent Abyss dungeons.

Showing mercy can earn extra rewards, but the most impressive thing is getting an SSS rating without even lifting a finger to clear the dungeon.

Clearing directly without challenge is certainly convenient, but Lin Yi does not favor this method of clearing.

”No, I want to clear it myself.”

Lin Yi gave a slight smile and provided his answer.

The dungeon announcement, upon hearing Lin Yi’s words, was obviously stunned for a moment.

Though reluctant to let Lin Yi fuss, it had no choice but to follow Lin Yi’s wishes.

[The dungeon has been opened. Honored teammates of Dragon God War God, please take your seats in the audience. The difficulty selection of the dungeon will now begin]

[A level: The opponent’s puppets receive 150% of our puppets’ life value. Other than that, attributes are the same, skills are the same]

[S level: The opponent’s puppets receive 200% of our puppets’ life value. Other than that, attributes are the same, skills are the same]

[SS level: The opponent’s puppets receive 300% of our puppets’ life value. Other than that, attributes are the same, skills are the same]

[SSS level: The opponent’s puppets receive 400% of our puppets’ life value. Other than that, attributes are the same, skills are the same]

For Lin Yi, when running dungeons, you go for the highest difficulty, no negotiation needed.

”Max it!”

[SSS difficulty has been selected. It is detected that the challenger has the title: Domineering, and the dungeon clear reward is SSS level, with actual challenge difficulty being SS level]

Damn.

Forgot I had that title.

[Abyss Conqueror] is a title that can increase dungeon difficulty, but it needs to be worn when entering the dungeon. Didn’t expect the difficulty to be forcefully reduced by the [Domineering] title.

[Introducing dungeon rules below]

[Upon entering the dungeon, the challenger gets four puppets, each with skills of Charm, Guard, Blinding, Healing]

[The challenger can place their puppets in a 3*3 grid, and according to different positions, gain from 1 to 4 different attack positions]

[When the position of our puppets coincides with that of enemy puppets, our puppets gain the priority to attack. Apart from that, the attack speed is affected by the attack position]

[Our puppets have a fixed attack power of 300, and life value of 1000]

[If the puppets are not affected by skills, they will attack the target in their position]

[All puppet skills cost 20 energy points. The initial round starts with 20 energy points, and each round thereafter increases by 20 energy points compared to the previous round]

[The maximum number of turns must not exceed 12 turns. Failure to defeat NPC puppets within the limit results in failure]

[Would you like to start the dungeon Deadly Puppet Show?]

This dungeon’s mechanism is quite novel across all dungeons in Blue Star.

Not looking at the challenger’s own attributes, only at their intelligence. You know, for high-IQ individuals, it’s pretty friendly.

”Begin!”

[Begin placing puppet position. You have thirty seconds to check puppet skill effects, view enemy puppet positions, and make your puppet position adjustments]

In an instant as the dungeon opened, the scene in front of them suddenly changed.

Two mirrored grids marked with numbers 1-9, along with two sets of identical puppets.

If there’s something different, it’s that Lin Yi’s numbers go from top to bottom as 321, 654, 987, and the opponent’s puppet life value is a full 3000.

Quickly reviewed puppet skills.

[Charm: Confuses the selected enemy target, lasts two rounds, cooldown for 2 rounds, can interrupt skills]

[Guard: Gains 100% dodge rate while skill is being cast, and is in a focused state, in this state being immune to skill interruptions and abnormal effects. If controlled, dodge effect fails, success grants a taunt effect causing the enemy to forcefully attack them, cooldown 2 rounds]

[Blinding: Blinds two random enemy units, lasts two rounds, cooldown 2 rounds]

[Healing: Restores 100% life value to two selected puppets and dispels all abnormal states, cooldown 2 rounds]

After reviewing skills, Lin Yi immediately checked the enemy puppet positions.

Enemy puppet positions are quite characteristic, with the Guard puppet in position 4, the frontmost, center line. Charm and Blinding puppets each are positioned behind in slots 56, with the Healing puppet in the bottom right at slot 9.

This arrangement seems fine at a glance.

Placing the most damage-resistant Guard puppet in front of the other two maximizes the team’s toughness.

However, it’s not really effective.

As long as Lin Yi gets the initiative, it doesn’t matter if the opponent’s attributes are higher.

Against NPCs without brains, regardless of any huge attribute differences, reversing the situation is just a matter of some thinking.

”Wow, Yi, with identical skills, the attack power and life value are so different. Can you win?”
