I Can Gain One Skill Point Per Second

Chapter 724: Principles of Enhancement and Essential Conditions for Forging

Hey, brother, it’s been such a short time since we last saw each other, and now you’re speaking so sarcastically?

”Come on, let’s go record your information now. This Divine Refining Bureau might reject anyone, even me, but it can’t reject you, Lin Yi! Let’s go, let’s record the information now. I didn’t call you earlier because you were out on a mission, so let’s catch up. Then I’ll treat you to a good meal.”

Lin Yi truly doesn’t care much about the information recording.

To be honest, with his Power of the Primordial, breaking through a shield would just be a trivial matter.

But Lin Yi figures he might not be using the enhancement platform of the Divine Refining Bureau anytime soon, so recording his information is quite necessary.

Recording the information isn’t complicated at all, especially with Sun Dachuan, the highest leader of the Divine Refining Bureau, leading the way—it’s smooth sailing all the way.

As for the meal, it could be quite a feast.

After three rounds of drinks, the time had already passed noon.

They had been catching up the whole morning, and Sun Dachuan was so excited that he hadn’t asked Lin Yi the purpose of his visit.

Only after eating did he remember he hadn’t asked Lin Yi about his reasons for coming.

”It’s nothing major, just wanted to have a technical exchange on enhancement techniques with you, and by the way, earn some goodwill for our Divine Refining Bureau. What do you think?”

Sun Dachuan could understand earning goodwill for the Divine Refining Bureau, but the idea of exchanging enhancement techniques sounded unfamiliar to him.

Ever since Blue Star became peaceful, various countries shared a lot of information through the Blue Star Professional Alliance, naturally including the Divine Refining Bureau led by Sun Dachuan.

Sun Dachuan’s enhancement techniques were highly praised.

Hoewel the Enhancement Grandmaster who surpasses Sun Dachuan may exist on Blue Star, finding an enhancer who is easy-going and skilled is most likely only Sun Dachuan.

”Brother, you’ve only grasped the equipment enhancement ability for a short time. Isn’t it a bit unfair to compare this between us?”

”I’m not boasting, brother. While I may not be as good as you in fighting, when it comes to equipment enhancement, I fear no one. Besides, you’ve seen that my skills improve as I craft more equipment, my abilities increase day by day. If you want to compare limits, perhaps we should...”

Sun Dachuan knows that his brother is quite versatile.

Being better than him in any area is something worth bragging about for a lifetime.

Sun Dachuan is very confident in his enhancement skills. He doesn’t believe Lin Yi can surpass him in this aspect, but he wouldn’t brag about areas a mage can’t even touch to Lin Yi.

Lin Yi understands Sun Dachuan’s real thoughts, so he waves him off.

”Hey, brother, our exchange is more about mutual learning than competition. Besides, there’s no stakes between us; comparing won’t hurt, right?”

Once Lin Yi spoke, Sun Dachuan was immediately brought to attention.

Indeed, this is a great opportunity for mutual learning. Due to professional limitations before, Sun Dachuan couldn’t explore enhancement techniques with Lin Yi. Now that Lin Yi has mastered enhancement skills, their exchange would benefit him greatly.

Thinking of this, Sun Dachuan quickly agreed and immediately asked the brothers present if anyone had unused equipment to give for free enhancement.

Handing equipment to Sun Dachuan for free enhancement is not an everyday affair; hence the brothers of the Divine Refining Bureau eagerly signed up.

Enhancing equipment by Lin Yi, despite sounding unreliable, within the Divine Refining Bureau, there’s an average +20-level enhancement capability, and nearly everyone believes their equipment enhancement skills are more reliable than Lin Yi’s.

But this doesn’t stop the brothers from handing over their equipment to Lin Yi for enhancement.

Regardless, the name Lin Yi carries unique prestige on Blue Star; even if Lin Yi only enhances it to below +10, that equipment becomes a coveted item by every professional on Blue Star.

Thus, the event begins.

The brothers of the Divine Refining Bureau temporarily set aside their work, gathering in the forging room with recording devices to document the duel between the two.

”Brother Lin Yi, since it’s a duel, you ought to show your full capabilities. I won’t hold back either. During this period, I’ll try my best to slow down my enhancement speed for you to learn more.”

Sun Dachuan’s actions not only allow Lin Yi to learn his enhancement techniques but also benefit the brothers of the Divine Refining Bureau, especially those interns with limited enhancement skills.

”Dachuan, there’s no need for that, just follow your own pace.”

Sun Dachuan didn’t put much thought into Lin Yi’s words.

He just considered it Lin Yi’s polite gesture.

However, as the competition starts, Sun Dachuan becomes somewhat confused.

Like him, Lin Yi, upon picking up the hammer, looked like he found water after a drought, showing a look of enjoyment.

Every equipment enhancement is an artistic process.

Using the right amount of hammering to create slight gaps in the equipment’s surface, carving intricate inscriptions within, and afterward infusing his Source Power into it to imbue the equipment with greater strength.

However, enhancing equipment by layering isn’t simply about opening gaps, infusing Source Power, then closing them.

The infused Source Power mustn’t leak.

Which means the opened gap can’t split a second time.

Considering the equipment’s limited size, enhancing it to higher levels requires exquisite technique.

This is the essence of an enhancer.

Why does an enhancer’s speed slow down as they keep enhancing equipment? That’s because high-level enhancers need extreme caution nearing completion.

Hammering open gaps differs for each enhancement level, requiring increasingly precise and delicate force. A mistake would mean starting over and might even ruin the equipment.

To save face for his brother, Sun Dachuan intentionally slows down his hammering pace.

On one hand, it’s about preserving face for his brother. Although equipment enhancement isn’t Lin Yi’s best area, it’s face-saving if Lin Yi loses to Sun Dachuan in any aspect.

Moreover, Sun Dachuan plans to observe Lin Yi’s enhancement techniques closely, to see where Lin Yi falls short, leading to his previous enhancement pausing at +5 level. Post-game, Sun Dachuan plans to give Lin Yi some guidance, helping him elevate his enhancement capabilities.

Yet, Sun Dachuan had no idea Lin Yi’s mastery of enhancement skills was entirely different from usual enhancers.

Why was the Divine Refining Bureau that offers crafting and enhancement services established at Chiyou Academy?

Because the Chiyou Academy predominantly consists of strong men, ideal for this kind of labor-intensive work.

Moreover, warrior and tank-class professionals have passive skills for element affinity, sensing metal states; hence the Divine Refining Bureau’s all-strong-man composition.
