I Can Gain One Skill Point Per Second

Chapter 725: The Chase for Mastery—A Bout of Extremes and Steadiness

Those with the passive skill of elemental affinity can clearly sense the state of elements in front of them without touching, determining if it’s the right time to engrave an inscription.

Metal is naturally a kind of element, and other professions cannot ascertain this, making them incapable of proper creation and equipment enhancement.

Their understanding of the forging skill is different from Lin Yi’s.

In their skill set, there is no such skill as the Enhancement Skill.

Regarding strengthening techniques, the enhancers of the Divine Refining Bureau only have the experience and insights gained from millions of hammer strikes.

Therefore, for them to achieve improvement is relatively difficult.

In fact, Lin Yi can master the enhancement skill as a Mage.

Indeed, without including the Enhancement Skill in his skill set.

Warriors and tank-type professions perceive the state of burning metal through passive skills.

Meanwhile, Lin Yi can utilize the Eye of All-Seeing to better manage this state.

However, Sun Dachuan’s insights on equipment forging and enhancement were too abstract, preventing Lin Yi from initially considering becoming an Enhancer.

After mastering the Enhancement Skill himself, he found his insights much simpler and more direct.

Sun Dachuan watched Lin Yi swinging his hammer like waves of the sea, endlessly surging.

The force of his hammer strikes was perfectly timed and harmonious, like the music of water flowing over rocks.

And the speed of his hammer strikes was impressively fast, decisive in momentum, unlike a novice Enhancer. In comparison to himself, it was lacking in no way.

At that moment, Sun Dachuan realized Lin Yi’s words of continuing practice without considering him were true without the slightest hint of vanity.

Watching Lin Yi in less than a minute, gracefully enhancing the equipment to +7, Sun Dachuan smiled.

Lin Yi is indeed Lin Yi, always being the same Lin Yi he’s known.

Nothing can challenge him, even if it’s unrelated to his profession.

Clang!

Sun Dachuan remained undeterred.

Upon realizing he had to give his all, he became serious.

A well-placed hammer strike brought a clear crack to the Chaos Hammer in front of him.

Then, engraving the inscription within the crack, injecting his Source Power, and another well-placed hammer strike perfectly closed the formed crack.

”Wow, as expected of Mr. Sun, amazing! Even if it’s just +1, the first inscription insertion requires more than a dozen strikes from me; Mr. Sun’s efficiency is incredible!”

”You, how disrespectful, who allowed you to call him Mr. Sun? Call him Mr. Sun!”

”But Mr. Lin is also impressive; haven’t you noticed? Though Mr. Lin’s strikes aren’t as decisive as Mr. Sun’s, the force of his hammer strikes is also just right; the gap created by the strike is perfectly sufficient for engraving the inscription.”

”Hey, now that you mention it, it seems true; everything Mr. Lin does is seamless, I was just admiring Mr. Lin’s graceful hammer skill and overlooked that he already reached a +7 level!”

When Sun Dachuan and Lin Yi both brought out their true strengths, the folks at the Divine Refining Bureau only then realized that the Sun Dachuan they have been seeing every day has become so formidable.

Indeed, as far as enhancement technology goes, Sun Dachuan has reached its peak.

The expertise he has achieved is almost identical to the maximum level attainable by Lin Yi through skills.

Calling him the Innate Enhancement Sacred Body is hardly an exaggeration!

Sun Dachuan’s hammer swing speed is more decisive, differing from Lin Yi’s steadiness.

The fierce gale enveloping him from head to toe exemplifies Sun Dachuan’s confidence.

This emerges from years of relentless night-and-day hammer swinging experience.

Where each hammer should land, how much force to use, reducing force by how many degrees at each stage, has formed as muscle memory; he clearly comprehends the metallic properties, the linkage between each enhancement crack!

This is the power of Shenxiao Enhancement’s number one, Sun Dachuan!

With ingrained proficiency and confidence, Sun Dachuan quickly matched Lin Yi’s pace.

When Lin Yi reached +8 enhancement, he swung a total of eight hammers, yet Sun Dachuan passed through with just one strike.

It was the same at +9, and both stepped into the +10 enhancement phase together.

To ensure fairness, the equipment Lin Yi enhanced was also a hammer.

Although the hammer is large, it already had nine deep cracks on it.

To avoid affecting the previously inscribed cracks, Sun Dachuan could no longer execute a one-strike success.

Both meticulously sensed the metal state on the weapons, feeling the changes in each inscribed crack under impact, skillfully utilizing their interplay.

Despite this, their hammer strikes remained incredibly fast, without a hint of hesitation at each landing.

It seemed as if the correct answer would always appear before them, where exactly each strike should fall, and with what magnitude were all written on the equipment needing enhancement.

Many apprentices from the Divine Refining Bureau were dumbfounded.

What on earth is this sight?

Not only Mr. Sun, but even Mr. Lin’s speed was so rapid it was unclear to the watching group, struggling to understand even the principle behind the first strike before Lin Yi’s third strike had already fallen.

Although said men of the Divine Refining Bureau are rough and burly, their work is by no means inferior to the delicate control of Source Power by healer professions.

The rough in the refined, and refined in the rough, a perfect blend of bold and gentle—each hammer strike fell as though an overwhelmingly skillful martial arts move, dazzling to behold.

”What! What sort of monster is Mr. Lin? Isn’t he a Mage? I can’t complain about him being able to fight, but how can Mr. Lin be so skilled in enhancing equipment? Are we about to lose our jobs?”

”Oh my, I heard Mr. Lin described as all-round before, and I thought it was only on the battlefield, but it turns out his equipment enhancement is just as overwhelming. Good gracious, thankfully I opened up the recording device in time, or else this historic scene wouldn’t be shareable with the world.”

”Hey, you are right; coincidentally, my childhood friend works in news media, I should quickly capture this and send him this firsthand video.”

Enhancement is indeed a physically demanding job.

Even though Sun Dachuan swings a big hammer almost every day, his stamina is also finite.

Landing each strike in the most perfect manner demands a great consumption of stamina for controlling the force.

In contrast, Lin Yi, who has unlimited stamina, doesn’t worry about the depletion of force.

The number of hammer strikes originally widening in distance is now being gradually equalized, restoring the speed advantage Sun Dachuan managed to gain.

Observing Lin Yi’s forging speed on par with his own, both reaching the +21 stage, Sun Dachuan’s blood boiled completely.

”Brother, you are incredible!”

”How many days has it been? No wonder the principal always says you are a genius.”
