Bear School Astartes

Lann never really valued the [Lariman Organ], whose main function is rapid healing and wound scarring, because his own recovery ability, due to his unique body modification process and the resources around him, had already been greatly enhanced.

At his level of recovery, the next pursuit should be something like ’self-limb regeneration’.

Of course, if external forces are considered, cultivating suitable limbs through crystal cultivation technology, he can also achieve limb reconnection now.

However, the next surgical procedure after this relatively unimportant enhancement organ is something that Lann cares about.

——[Neural Node] implantation.

According to the surgical procedure, this soybean-sized super organ will be implanted into the brain through a drilled hole in the occipital bone.

It will effectively regulate the neural current rhythm of the Interstellar Warriors, thereby moderating brain nerve activity.

Through its adjustments, Interstellar Warriors will remain in a state of alertness, and the left and right hemispheres of the brain will alternate resting like dolphins.

For ordinary people, the so-called ’long-term concentration, mental toil, body ruin and shortened life’ will be a burdenless daily posture for Interstellar Warriors.

The speed of nerve reactions will also surge due to the regulation of this super organ in the brain.

Although certain rest is still needed, this surgery that nearly overturns the work-rest state maintained by the human brain since its formation.

Because of its remarkably strong and obvious effects, it might cause strong distortions and pressures in the psychological realm of the surgery recipients due to physiological channels.

Being able to focus wholeheartedly at any time, or rather, extreme focus is the normal state for Interstellar Warriors.

This sudden increase in the brain’s information reception and processing speed in everyday life, from Lann’s experience in [Memory Deep Dive], will cause psychological alienation in most recipients.

However, within that hard and fear-inducing operating style of the Interstellar Human Empire, it also reflects how they handle psychological distortion.

The pharmacists among Interstellar Warriors will strictly control the hypnosis process for recipients of this stage. They use hypnotic techniques to regulate the biological activity and movement activity of the [Neural Node].

Hypnosis technicians will use whispers and hypnosis helmets to adjust the hormonal secretion disorders caused by abnormal brain nerve movements and psychological anomalies.

If there is no regulation method, then the recipients of this stage will show traits close to madness.

Hormonal disorders and psychological alienation will lead to uncontrollable homicidal rage, an abnormal obsession with pain, manic euphoria, disregard for the present, void confusion...

If even under hypnosis treatment they can’t survive the stormy changes in their mental realm, then the recipient... will be deemed unqualified to become an Interstellar Warrior.

The surgical process declares failure, followed by harmless disposal.

At least from what Lann saw in the [Memory Deep Dive], this is how the war group operated.

But considering the differences in customs and cultures between war groups, he wasn’t sure if other places handled it the same way.

Moreover, another point puzzled him during his information gathering—

Are those Interstellar Warriors undergoing surgery... do their bodies have such weak hormone regulation functions?

Do they still need external hypnosis to intervene in internal hormone secretion?

Anyway, after the implantation of the [Genetic Seed], the strong regulation of this super organ controls his body’s hormone secretion.

With the subsequent implantation of the [Holy Chant Gland] in the right hemisphere, the regulation and monitoring abilities become even more powerful and comprehensive.

The hormone secretion levels in his body rarely made mistakes, and even if they did, he could self-correct.

He didn’t know whether it was due to first undergoing Demon Hunter modifications before implanting [Genetic Seed].

Or because the super organs implanted in his body are local adaptations.

Or maybe it’s because his brain has a biochemical brain from the Human Union?

Anyway, Lann’s body modifications are already hard to say how similar they are to those of regular Interstellar Warriors.

Besides valuing the effects of [Neural Node] as a super organ, the Demon Hunter also felt troubled about the surgical approach.

After all, placing a soybean-sized artificial organ through a hole in the occipital bone into the brain... the only surgical approach he could think of was one.

”Cassandra.”

Lann spoke, mumbling while holding a parchment filled with chaotic data.

For the production of the [Neural Node] based on this already calculated data and planning, there’s no doubt he needs the assistance of the [Anka Cross] automatic medical module.

That’s a creation of the Yishu Civilization, the legacy of human pre-civilization in another world——biotechnology.

”Hmm? Did you say something just now?” Philixia, busy adjusting equipment, turned and looked at Lann, puzzled.

”No, nothing.” Lann shook his head, rolling up the parchment about the [Neural Node] production process and putting it back in his pocket as he spoke.

It’s time to take another trip to the Ancient Greek World.

Hoping this time he can help Cassandra liberate her from the ’Ancient Greek-style family tragedy’ she’s entangled in, along with the backstage Order Divine Teachings’ twists.

Though this time, it seems there won’t be any time for a break.

Lann glanced at the busy Philixia Koli, realizing he had to call her to the laboratory, so she didn’t have to run around the academy helping arrange the venue.

The Demon Hunter leaned against the table, arms folded, his gaze lost.

The Squirrel Faction was getting louder and more powerful in the north, and the situation between the north and south, which had been relieved once due to the war, now had explosive indicators again, Geralt’s message said someone was in Chahiri...

Along with the high-spec Wizard Assembly at Airetusa.

Honestly, Lann always felt there was an air of trouble brewing here.

Regardless, he doesn’t plan to re-enter the Celestial Sphere Convergence Rift in such a situation.

”Knock knock.”

Lann was deep in thought when a steady and forceful knocking interrupted him, bringing the Demon Hunter back to reality.

”Come in.”

Lann responded, then turned to tidy the messy table, collecting his calculation data and traces.

Boots made a crisp sound as they stepped on the marble floor, making a ’click’ sound.

Yan’an’s Hunter Lady entered with a unique serene aura, opening the door.

”Lady Margarita said you’re here.” Maria glanced around the laboratory before focusing on Lann. ”We’re ready, can leave at any time.”

The laboratory at Airetusa was much better compared to Yan’an’s Healing Church, at least in terms of senses.

Although the appearance of the Healing Church was already like the eighteenth century, logically it should be more advanced than the Magical Middle Ages, but unfortunately, Yan’an is a gloomy and bizarre place.

The Airetusa laboratory at least had ample lighting, with logical, clear, and orderly arrangement of each experimental instrument.

No dim corners or secret doors in this lab.

”I thought so too.” Lann nodded at Maria. ”You’ve always been efficient.”

With that, the Demon Hunter finished organizing his experimental traces and took the organ storage bottle with the [Lariman Organ] from Philixia’s hands.

Along with several books.

”[Stanford’s Supplements on Alchemy] complete in four volumes, whew.”

The still ungraduated Female Sorcerer Apprentice strained to get these voluminous books out of her backpack, breathing heavily.

”This set has been in the library for two hundred years? How did you even know about this list, Lady Mandy had a hard time finding it.”

”Thank you, Philixia.” Lann smiled as he thanked her, placing the large volumes into his Alchemy Pouch.

The dimensional expansion bag made the Female Sorcerer Apprentice a little envious, although she had confidence that she could afford one just after graduation, for now, she was still a ’poor student’.

”No need to thank me.” Philixia Koli, already well acquainted with Lann, teased the Demon Hunter in front of her, ”If at the time when Lady Mandy was using her foot under the table to tickle your thigh, you hadn’t stood up to leave, she might have delivered these books herself.”

”That’s exactly why I stood up and left.”

”The Dean doesn’t mind that.” Philixia chuckled teasingly. ”Maybe she’d find it quite exciting if she really saw it.”

The Demon Hunter imagined for a moment and could only nod: ”Probably true.”

But then quickly shook his head: ”But if she’s excited, I couldn’t stay.”

If the first experimenter tasted sweet, then next, he could truly be overwhelmed like the external gossip described.

Unfortunately, both Tishaya and Lann cared a lot about the academic atmosphere at Airetusa.

The Female Warlocks’ playfulness is one thing, but they still have to manage the academy well.
