Bear School Astartes

Standing four meters away from the nursery, Lann tilted his head.

”Hmm, you’ve used magic to block fungal spores? Smart move.”

A deep sensation flashed through his amber eyes, momentarily disappearing.

Lann and Adeline approached the nursery, and neither felt anything unusual physically. But Lann had already seen with his [Spiritual Vision] that an invisible barrier was enclosing the nursery.

However, Tishaya, who heard his compliment, showed little expression.

”You should still remember the procedure for preventing biological invasions, right?”

The female warlock didn’t make small talk and directly asked.

Lann smiled and tapped his head. It was a silent response.

Tishaya was still wearing a blue dress, though the style varied.

The color suited her intellectual and meticulous temperament well.

Except the dress was quite normal in other places—conservative among female warlocks—only the large opening at the collar in the front accented the female warlock’s uninhibited style.

However, Tishaya looked anything but cheerful right now.

She seemed to be managing a mess, and her face showed the worries of thinking three steps ahead.

Project planners generally wore that same face without fail.

So Lann shrugged and stepped aside, speaking earnestly.

”Leave this to me, go ahead and do what you need to do.”

Once Lann arrived, Tishaya could finally catch a slight break, nodding apologetically to Maria beside her and to Adeline behind Lann, before she began to walk away.

”I really can’t spare a moment, I’ve had to teleport to several countries every day lately...”

As she walked by the Demon Hunter, even the usually calm and meticulous female warlock couldn’t help lowering her voice to complain a bit to Lann.

This was quite novel for the young man.

”I understand, I understand.” Lann nodded repeatedly with a smile, ”I can handle it, quickly now.”

After giving the Demon Hunter a deep look, Tishaya hurried out.

”Seems we truly came at a bad time.”

A voice so cold it felt detached came from Maria’s mouth.

But Lann was long used to it.

”Stating once more.” The Demon Hunter walked over and lightly patted the female hunter’s arm, speaking casually, ”It’s not an unwelcoming attitude, they’re genuinely busy.”

”We understand.” Maria crossed her arms, her body turning back to face the nursery as she followed Lann’s advancing figure. ”We don’t mean to misinterpret.”

”That’s good then.” Lann clapped his hands twice, looking at the sizable cultivation nursery before him. ”We should also begin our task.”

Adeline came over as well, approaching the nursery.

This was a big classroom, and the nursery in front of them was roughly two hundred square meters.

For ease of caring for plants, the nearly two hundred square meters was divided into many small sections by walkways.

Lann and the others stood in front of one of the nursery’s small sections.

”Can these herbs really count as magic?” Adeline asked curiously while looking at the nursery. ”I thought magic looked... more wondrous.”

Neither of them knew much about magic and alchemy, which Lann found unsurprising.

The young Demon Hunter squatted down, eyes close to the three plants growing in the nursery, looking serious and focused.

”Because you don’t understand magical alchemy, you feel it’s not wondrous. But in truth, this stuff is much more interesting than the Floating Spell you just saw.”

While examining the new continent plants growing out of the local environment, Lann answered Adeline’s question.

Restoration Herb, Blue Mushroom, Mandala Mushroom.

These were materials in the New Continent Expedition Team’s signature alchemy that could produce [Secret Medicine] after several conversion processes!

And that [Secret Medicine]... Lann felt it was quite similar to the [God Devourer] pills he once obtained in Iwami.

The general feeling was that, no matter how severe the injury, if there’s still breath, it will restore you.

The explosive life force of New Continent plants, once refined, may struggle to restore similarly life-force-rich explosive monsters but restoring the ’insignificant’ human body would be too easy.

Of course, as Lann anticipated, the life force of these plants was much weaker than the original native generation of the New Continent.

The herbs and mushrooms looked outwardly similar to their counterparts in the New Continent, but in Lann’s current [Spiritual Vision] view, only their appearance remained unchanged.

”Grown from the local environment... This is the first time.”

The young Demon Hunter felt a small thrill of excitement.

Though [Big Appetite Energy], a medicine that could enter the alchemical directory of the Investigation Team, had already been developed by the New Continent Expedition Team.

But using cross-world transplanted plants for alchemy, he indeed was a first-timer.

”First time?” Maria, standing behind him, frowned. ”You want to use us for experimentation?”

Lann didn’t turn his head, the Yan Nan Hunter’s detached voice matched the content, almost sounding threatening, yet he was already accustomed to it.

”One must try, and without trying, there’s no result to be had.”

Standing up, Lann rubbed his chin with interest.

”However, there’s no need to worry about safety; the finished products of these things won’t be as sinister as what’s from Yan’an at most, the effects might not be ideal.”

The triangular hat adorned with swan feathers wobbled left and right.

Maria and Adeline didn’t understand magic and alchemy. Even if Lann were to deceive them, how could they tell?

Their willingness to cross the Celestial Sphere Convergence Rift with Lann stems from their trust in him as a person.

What’s the point of saying anything now?

”Then let’s begin.”

Maria said calmly, as if she wasn’t the one undergoing treatment.

And Lann didn’t hesitate, reaching out to grab the healing herbs and two types of mushrooms from the nursery.

After harvesting the plants and sealing them properly, as long as one walks straight out of the nursery, the magic barrier set up by Tishaya will automatically clear away the scattered spores and dust.

Despite this, Lann still followed the correct procedure to ensure that the samples he collected this time wouldn’t pose any ecological invasion risks.

”Are you going to draw blood from us?” Adeline observed Lann’s swift actions, feeling a bit awkward because she wanted to help but couldn’t, so she simply asked from the side.

”Changing blood requires a blood sample first, right? I’ve heard the clergy in the research hall talking about it...”

The more she spoke, the less confident she felt, and her voice grew smaller.

”No need. The blood you’ll use for replacement will be produced by your body, just like when I replaced mine.”

”[Big Appetite Energy].”

Lann raised the blue mushroom in his hand without turning his head, signaling to them.

”It can dramatically boost your body’s metabolic efficiency. As long as you replenish food during this process, it’s a wholly positive effect.”

”Basically, after you drink the potion, leave a bleeding cut on your hand, and then just start eating a lot.”

”Simple, right?”

”Yes, but...” Watching Lann’s busy back, Maria bit her lower lip, tentatively asking with some uncertainty.

”By ’eating a lot’... what level are you talking about?”

While cleaning the dirt and debris off the roots of the healing herbs, Lann paused.

Then, in his mind flashed the memory of that dragon beast he fought to the death with, nearly crushing him, smashing rocks from the entrance of Ponta River Valley all the way to the mid-section of the valley.

Its entire muscular body had burst through its skin and was still growing fiercely.

And what drove it to such madness was a hunger sensation that persisted after it had devoured a fifth of the Mahakan Mountains creatures.

Lann finally turned around and assessed Adeline and Maria: ”Conservatively... start with half your body weight.”

Faced with the ’eating’ issue, the two Yan Nan people, who cared about almost nothing else but blood, slowly opened their mouths.

Lann carried the sealed raw materials and once again traversed the bustling and noisy halls and corridors, arriving at the Crystal Cultivation Laboratory.

Upon entering, Lann saw the slightly disorganized desk.

It seemed that Tishaya was indeed overwhelmed with work.

If she were to spare even a minute during her time at Airetusa to visit the laboratory, she wouldn’t possibly leave the papers on the desk unordered.

But on the other hand.

”Boom, boom.”

After reaching the desk, Lann noticed something different from before: two large wooden barrels like those used for storing wine were placed there.

With just two fingers, Lann easily removed the cap from the barrels, which wine craftsmen would have used a hammer to pound into place.

Instantly, a pungent stench surged out.

This was the smell of kidneys.

And these two barrels were filled with [Ferocious Tyrannosaurus Kidney Grinding Liquid].

The corpse of the original [Fog Nest Master] Terror Tyrannosaurus was left in the New Continent. These barrels were made using kidney samples from the dragon that Tishaya had brought back.

Through crystal cultivation technology, they were grown and cloned using Chaos Magic Power and cultivation liquids.

The cellular structure was completely consistent with the terror tyrannosaurus kidney cells.

Using crystal cultivation technology, which couldn’t be mass-produced yet, to prepare two large barrels of [Ferocious Tyrannosaurus Kidney Grinding Liquid], was undeniably costly.

However, on the one hand, as a material, this substance undoubtedly holds vast potential, though Lann’s research direction has shifted away from it.

Philixia seems inclined to develop an alchemy topic based on this substance.

On the other hand, it’s intended for trade with the Expedition Team during the next trip to the New Continent.

Even in the New Continent, there aren’t that many terror tyrannosauruses whose kidneys can be harvested as raw material for [Big Appetite Energy].

This method doesn’t align with the Expedition Team’s usual principles.

But trading with Lann was straightforward.

So after returning, Tishaya made ’preparing [Ferocious Tyrannosaurus Kidney Grinding Liquid]’ a standard task for the laboratory’s daily operations.

Unless there were additional experiments, the laboratory’s production capacity was devoted to this task.

Moreover, the emergence of [Big Appetite Energy] meant more than just an alchemy recipe for Lann...
