Bear School Astartes

”Sometimes I really can’t figure out which one of us has narrow vision and shallow perspective.”

Lann laughed heartily, even the knife handle he barely held shook and made a ’clap’ sound in his grasp.

His unusually pale face was full of laughter as he looked at the Moon God lying on the ground not far away.

”Of course, it might also be that you want to use words to guide me, so you deliberately downplay in your speech.”

”You asked if I want to see a higher and deeper perspective.”

”Of course, I definitely want to.”

The laughter was too intense, causing Lann to catch his breath.

”Whew~ A higher perspective can reveal more truths and allow a more comprehensive understanding of the true nature of the world. When the perspective is expanded, it’s like the form of existence in life is elevated.”

”This is the so-called [Spiritual Vision] theory.”

”I certainly wish to become a more perfect, higher-level life form. Perhaps you could say this desire stems from the depths of my genes.”

”But there’s a problem. Just this one problem.”

Lann, whose hand was still exposed with steel cables, extended a finger and waved it in the air.

And the hand holding Aron Dite had to prop against his waist in order to stand straight.

He tilted his head to look at the Moon God.

”If I’m to follow the route you’ve provided to cross into a higher perspective, I will likely become an Ancient God like you... No, once I become a divine offspring, I will inevitably become an Ancient God like you.”

”Becoming something like you makes me feel disgusted.”

Lann said sincerely.

This disgust is not merely referring to the Moon God’s physical form, which appears ugly and incomplete after materialization.

Even from the perspective of a common person, the current Moon God’s shape indeed looks ugly, sinister, and bizarre to the point of absurdity.

However, if an ordinary person stands before the Moon God, they would surely be ’captivated’ by Him in an instant.

This ’captivation’ is not like a lustful man seeing a hot woman, but rather a shallow life suddenly seeing the entity representing the profound truths of the world, that soul-stirring shock.

Even with Lann’s knowledge and intellect, wasn’t he bewitched beyond control when he first saw the Moon God descend upon the mortal world?

And this is the reaction of a common person.

If it’s like Master William, Lawrence, Miklás, scholars who have studied Ancient Gods and higher beings all their lives, whose life’s pursuit and academic philosophy are in pursuit of the life trajectory and knowledge of higher beings.

If the Moon God’s body was presented before them, it would appear ’beautiful’ beyond description.

Because they can understand the fragments of traces and knowledge on this body, allowing them to appreciate this ’beauty’ more completely.

Lann isn’t an ordinary person, nor is he a scholar specializing in Ancient Gods, yet he can also sense this ’beauty’.

But even with the ability to sense this ’beauty’, he still finds the Moon God disgusting.

Not because His form of life isn’t sophisticated enough, not because those truths representing the world’s depth aren’t profound enough... Just simply because, what He and His kind have done in Yan’an.

Makes Lann feel disgusted.

Yan’an is an ancient region that continues an old tradition name.

Representing the whole mountain range where Yan City is located and its surroundings.

And the bizarre history of this region has always extended from ancient times.

This represents the continuous influence of Ancient Gods on this region, omnipresent.

They want to birth their divine offspring, yet resent other Ancient Gods, so they attack each other. Using this region as a chessboard for their mutual offenses and deceptions, casually ravaging it.

”So, just thinking about possibly becoming something like you makes me feel sick and uncomfortable, even more than this discomfort.”

While speaking, Lann casually shook his hand which had a layer of skin eroded away alive.

”If the path given to scholars like Byron Vis is the only one, then I’ll say nothing. After all, Ancient Gods truly are the deep truths of the world.”

”But how could I possibly think highly of you?”

While speaking, Lann’s face revealed undisguised contempt and mockery.

His thumb flipped to point at his bare chest.

”Can you say you can completely break through any of the three lights on me?”

The gentle Lake light, the warm sunlight, the pure starlight like an elusive illusion.

”I once saw the golden lake rooted deep in the world.”

”I was once personally healed by the eldest daughter of a god system that established a stable world.”

”I once connected with the most unique, pure relic of the early world to fight evil dragons.”

Pointing at his chest, Lann looked at the Moon God’s face, the contempt and mockery gradually disappeared, leaving only cold chill.

”Do you think I’m someone without a path and thus eagerly waiting for the Ancient God to pull me in and become a divine offspring?”

”You want me to become your divine offspring...”

Until the end, Lann’s eyes contained only pure rage!

”What do you think you are! Claiming to be a deity alien!”

For some reason, after the [Genetic Seed] and [Holy Chant Gland] began greatly enhancing their vitality and effectively participating in controlling Lann’s internal physiological reactions.

Lann felt a burst of anger at the Moon God’s [Spiritual Vision] sending the labels of ’divine offspring’ towards him left and right.

Genuine anger.

As if the Moon God’s words in his ears were the dirtiest, most unreasonable things.

Even at the end, he almost instinctively berated the Moon God as an ’alien’.

God knows when he developed a habit of cursing monsters as ’aliens’, those Interstellar Warriors did it frequently in [Memory Deep Dive].

Anyway, whatever the case, after cursing, Lann felt satisfied.

Behind Lann’s words hiding rage, the Moon God barely used His still intact hand to slightly push Himself up.

’You don’t care about divine offspring, the outsider from beyond the world.’

The tone of his voice returned to calm, as if nothing that had happened so far could move him.

Moreover, he easily revealed a secret that was no longer a secret to the two awake beings present.

According to Lann’s own guess, perhaps the first moment he arrived in Yan City, his identity and background were already clear as day under the Moon God’s watchful eye.

And by this moment, whether outside the world or not outside the world, it no longer mattered.

’I can make a concession, a final concession.’

’I don’t need you to become my divine child, I only need you to take my blood to another world.’

The Moon God, with only three dark hollow faces, stared at Lann.

’Any world is fine. As long as there’s none of my kind there, I will accept them all!’

’Only this condition! As long as this is met, whatever you want, whatever you wish to achieve, I will give it to you!’

Lann calmly looked at the Moon God who was propping up his body.

He understood clearly what the young Demon Hunter had planned.

The Ancient Gods longed to acquire a divine child, but it was always the difficulty of obtaining and maintaining the divine child amid other Ancient Gods’ targeting that was the issue.

Rather than the inability of Ancient Gods to truly let a divine child be born in the flesh.

Going to a world devoid of kindred means nearly gaining a completely unrestricted free world for the Moon God!

Will Lann agree to his condition? After all, his current request can be said to no longer involve Lann.

It sounds as if...

’A pile of dog shit.’

The young Demon Hunter blandly commented on the Moon God’s condition.

At this time, more strength returned to his hand, thus he suddenly gripped the hilt of Aron Dite with a ’click’.

’Do you think I’m the kind of guy who gets dog shit on me and doesn’t clean it up, but rather just flings it everywhere?’

’Then you’d be sorely mistaken.’

’I will resolve you here.’

The thumping of footsteps stepped on the sea of flowers, unusually heavy due to the inability to maintain breathing.

Staggering, yet determined.

’Then, I can take one more step back.’

However, those three dark hollow eyes on the Ancient God’s face kept staring at Lann, seemingly oblivious to his actions, continuing to transmit messages via [Spiritual Vision].

Lann seemed amused, yet his pace remained unchanged, while his lips curled into a chilling arc.

Those deep amber cat eyes quietly watched the Ancient God who supported himself with one hand.

’Yes, indeed, I can take one more step back, as long as...’

’Boom!!!’

The information transmitted via [Spiritual Vision] was far from finished, when in an instant!

The remaining half of the body of the Moon God, which Lann had previously cut apart, suddenly erupted with massive force!

With no forewarning, he exerted force, with his claw and leg on one side simultaneously pushing against the ground.

Under the peculiar materialized structure of the Ancient God, there was no precursor to storing power; with the reaction force, the ground around him practically exploded!

In the direction opposite to his forward motion, a massive flood of earth and stone erupted like a flood, along with crushed white petals!

That remaining claw directly reached out to grab Lann, while the bleeding stump also jabbed toward the Demon Hunter!

However, when the Moon God surged suddenly before, beneath the explosive noise of the ground shattered by his enormous reaction force, was another minute explosion of Fighting Spirit ignition!

Vivid reddish Fighting Spirit exploded from Lann’s body, without the armor covering his chest!

That vibrant red hue leapt like flames!

[Fog Nest Master Terror Dragon Essence · Power Liberation · Extreme Intent]!

The blood-lacking, weakened muscles, under the effect of the essence attached to the armor, suddenly tightened! Those stimulated muscle fibers even made squeezing sounds within the body!

The essence left behind by the terrifying creature known for its fierce brutality and commonplace self-mutilation, fully stimulated Lann’s physical form!

And that long blade, casually placed by his side, at some unknown moment, appeared ready for a thrust posture between his waist and abdomen.

Like everything was premeditated, waiting for the Moon God to impale himself on the blade tip.

Indeed, that was the case.

’Shk!’ The clean, crisp sound of a blade cutting in was masked amid the explosive movements of the Moon God’s enormous body.

Lann’s eyes were in close proximity to the Moon God’s bizarre face.

’Did you think after so many exchanges, I wouldn’t understand the trajectory of your body’s movements, when I’ve practically written a thesis on your current structural form?’

On that bizarre face, precisely in the midst of the three dark hollow spots.

The Lady of the Lake’s Sword, glimmering with hazy, pure starlight, thrust straight in! Blade hilt deep!

Lann was nearly exhausted from the fight, yet the Moon God was not much better off.

To brew that one [Blood Impact] carrying Ancient God’s essence, he let Lann slice through half his body, with most of his intrinsic strength also invested.

Now both of them were verging on being utterly spent.

The Moon God’s final desperate charge, Lann never intended to confront directly.

At the moment the blade hilt jammed into the Moon God’s face, he immediately leapt.

Dissipating force by allowing himself to be knocked away.

Since Aron Dite, twinkling with ethereal starlight, pierced his face, the Moon God’s now completely powerless body, nearly plowed through the entire sea of flowers by mere inertia.

But in the end, he still died.
