Blood Awakening: The Strongest Hybrid and His Vampire Bride

Chapter 587: The Power Of Motherhood

Meanwhile, back at the Volkov mansion. In a large room, with a modern fireplace flickering away, several women all relaxed while watching several high-tech monitors showing images from the southern district in real time.

Sitting on the peach sofa curved in an L-shape. Four women watched intently, while two women sat on the floor, playing with three little wolves.

Amphitrite, Lunaria, Selene and Risa watched the screens with a mixture of emotional expressions.

For once, the mermaid’s scales became bright blue from anger, while Lunaria and Selene held each other’s hands nervously waiting. As for Risa, she watched the maids fighting with her fists pumping, shouting each time they landed a hit on the monstrosity.

”Damn, those maids are so awesome, just like our Leo!”

”R-Risa, I’m not that special.” Leona, always one to help, put down a tray of refined tea, the fruity scent of herbs and spices causing the nekomata’s nose to twist.

”Ah~ this tea smells so bad. Is it another medicinal brew?”

Risa tried to hide her reluctance, but since becoming pregnant and reaching her mid-term, Leona and the maids at the estate began insisting she drink the nasty fruited tea once a day, saying it helped with morning sickness, or another helped with cramps and blood pressure levels.

Thus, she tried to avoid drinking it until Leona told Nikolai.

After he learned about the tea’s effects, his gentle and soft request made it impossible for the loving nekomata to refuse.

Even if the tea smelled strange or the taste was too strong.

Risa just didn’t like fruit that much, sadly.

”Now now, Risa. You know our husband insists we drink the tea, even if it’s nasty. He also drinks it to share our burden.” Kumiko’s logical words brought a few tears to the Nekomata’s eyes; she knew everyone wanted the best from her.

”...Hrk.”

Gulp~

A sharp orange flavour attempted to cover the overly minty medicinal taste. However, a Nekomata’s tongue could identify every type of flavour ten times more accurately than a human could.

”Nnnn~” Risa closed her eyes while pushing out her tongue with a whimper.

”Fufu, such a lovely little cat.” Selene this time commented, taking her own tea, which was a mixture of raspberry and other minerals and herbs. She sipped with a large gulp, then winced, feeling the same as Risa.

Honestly, the bitterness of the medicinal portion of their tea was enough to drive them all mad. If not for the cute little wolves in front of them, none of the wives might even entertain the idea of drinking these tonics.

’If Nikita almost died during birth, then we need all the help we can get.’

Selene mused to herself while forcing another mouthful down. She peeked at her sister with a wry smile, shocked at how worried she became after seeing Nikolai vanish. To her, Lunaria was a strong and fierce woman who wouldn’t shrink at anything.

A woman who endured alone for the past ten years, and yet here she was. Hands gripping her dress tight enough to tear the fabric, chewing her lip even as blood dripped from the torn flesh.

”Sister, you mustn’t get so wound up, he’ll be alright. I promise.”

Lunaria turned to Selene, her eyes a little red from her tears. She opened her mouth several times, as if wanting to speak but held back, before wiping her lips and coughing. ”How can you be so sure that hand dragged him away so easily!”

Though they were monsters, it wasn’t like they knew everything about the world. A big sign of that was that none of the races understood the Nexus or Tower inside it. Some said they were just for fun, but after seeing the corruption and changes Nikolai told them about, none of his wives believed it was so simple.

Especially when looking at the bizarre portals on the screens right now.

”Phew, careful Viktoria...”

Oblivious to the nervous and emotional conversation on the sofa, Nikita just curled the corner of her lips upward, watching her three daughters. She believed in Nikolai that no matter what happened, he would come home to them.

That was his promise, and he’d never broken it to this day.

She tipped the warm bottle carefully, helping Viktoria drink, although she usually fed the girls directly. When in a group, even Nikita’s steel guts couldn’t endure the shame. If there were another mother, it might’ve been easier, though.

”Oh, Clara, a little slower. If you feed them too fast, they’ll choke or get sick.”

Beside her, one of the youngest wives held Dhalia, gently rocking her as she held a bottle at a 45-degree angle. ”Mm, okay. Sister Nikita.”

Unlike the feisty Viktoria, who tried to wrestle the bottle from her mother’s hands, Dhalia’s sleepy eyes fluttered between closed and half-open. ”She’s like a little fairy, hehe.”

Nikita rolled her eyes while letting Elizabeth lie on her thighs, sucking her little thumb, snoozing away. ’These twins are so lazy and sleep all the time.’ However, she glanced at Dhalia and shook her head with a wry smile.

”Dhalia is a naughty girl who likes to bite when feeding.” Nikita glanced at her daughter’s chromatic eyes that peeked at her as if to say. ”Got a problem, mom?” Though Nikita complained, she still reached over using her tail and swished Dhalia’s cheek gently, cooing so she finally slipped away.

Nikita switched attention to the screens after all three girls were sleeping and fed. She got a lot of complaints from Selene and the others for being ”heartless”, but Nikita promised to look after their children before anything else. ’Hmph, they’ll know after giving birth just how lovable and cute these children are. And how much our darling adores them!’

When she glanced up, the Epsilon maid group clung to the Tyrant, slicing, cutting, and even biting at the abhorrent fiend’s flesh.

”Oh, they’re really going at it. Leona!” She said, turning to her side.

Leona sat beside her, holding a soft cloth and cream, which she gently applied to Elizabeth’s little hands. The cream carried a faint peppermint scent as she rubbed it into the soft wounds from where the baby wolf’s claws began to grow and caught her skin. ”There there.” Half ignoring Nikita, she focused on each girl, delicately rubbing the cream into the cuts.

She glanced up, meeting Nikita’s enthusiastic gaze with a half-lidded smile. ”Mm, I almost wish I could be there right now. Those girls are suffering so much. I should prepare a reward for those who fought.”

Nikita paused, then looked back at Leona with a smirk.

”You never change, Leo.”

The two of them glanced at each other, then laughed. At first, Leona struggled to get close to Nikolai’s wives, even after becoming his woman. So speaking frankly with Nikita made her happier than she thought.

Unlike the worried women on the sofa, or the ones who were so concerned they rushed to join the reinforcements, only for Mother Nagisa and Elizabeth to stop them.

Leona and Nikita held complete trust in Nikolai.

”Oh god, look!” Selene spoke with a shocked gasp.

”Did they kill it!?”

”No, Risa, look! It’s our husband, he’s back!” Lunaria corrected the Nekomata.

Nikita’s heart thumped, although she bragged about not worrying. When she heard their words, she slowly turned to the largest monitor and gasped. The image spread to the smaller screens as it revealed him.

’Ah, why do you always look so hot? What if some other bitch wants to have your kids!?’

Her foul thoughts luckily didn’t reach her lips.

Another resolution she made was becoming a mother... her foul language, especially in R-dialect, would never be shown to the girls!

However, the next moment Nikolai lunged at the Tyrant, which gave Vladimir and their entire forces an issue. And he just grabbed its face, placing both hands between its teeth, and yanked the Tyrant’s head apart with a violent and brutal snap.

Nikita’s pupils dilated, her abdomen tightened as she felt herself growing aroused.

”Fuck, Baby, why are you so damn sexy!” (R-Dialect)

Her voice echoed through the room, even waking both Elizabeth and Dhalia suddenly. The babies began to whine after their mother shouted.

”Ah, babies don’t be scared, mommy is stupid, look mommy isn’t angry.” Nikita panicked, stroking the silky hair of her twin daughters. But she failed to notice the sly gleam in Viktoria’s eyes, which watched her dad and never left the screen, and her little mouth moved, in the same shape as her mother when she cursed.

Maybe not now, but in the future.

Nikita might suffer a heart attack upon hearing Viktoria’s first actual word.

Downtown S-City.

Nikolai’s muscles screamed from the moment he escaped hell to overworking himself to tear the Tyrant’s head apart. He knew he’d gone too far and pushed his body to the very limits, so much that his ears now throbbed and hissed with ringing. Able to hear the movement of his blood, the erratic beating of his three hearts.

”Phew...”

His sigh lasted several seconds, blood covered his exposed body, and the looks from everyone around him resembled the awe of seeing something outrageous.

”N-Nikolai, is that you?” Vladimir approached him first, examining his son-in-law, whose body hissed with steam from just his body heat. ”You look a mess.” His lips curled into a smirk at the state of this cheeky wolf who stole his daughters.

Exhausted and barely able to understand him, Nikolai turned to Vladimir. ”Ah. Old man.”

A simple greeting, but enough to tell Vladimir who it was.

There was a slight worry that this might be a demon taking the shape of Nikolai. But only the little bastard would speak to him this arrogantly.

’Clam yourself, Vlad. He’s the apple in your daughter’s eyes. They will never speak to you if you scold or hit this fool. Let’s remember this for the future!’

”Ahem! Well, yes, I am quite old.” Vlad’s lips twitched as he spoke, but the vampire king didn’t make it difficult for Nikolai. With the flick of his wrist, a long black cape wrapped around Nikolai’s burning flesh, quelling the heat with an icy, comforting breeze.

”This?”

”It’s something I bought in the past when visiting Lunaria.”

Nikolai nodded, remembering how her powers used to run wild, causing an entire castle to be frozen solid. Her permafrost was strong enough to give most monsters frostbite after all, so he clutched the cooling cape with gratitude.

”Honestly, I really appreciate it.”

The heat inside him churned agonisingly inside his abdomen. As if a blast furnace pushed to its limit, Nikolai struggled to focus on reality. He focused all his remaining mind on controlling the immense amount of energy that threatened to explode at any moment.

”Vlad, can you help me lie down somewhere cool?”

Even with the cape, his hands caused whatever he touched to sizzle and hiss.

”W-What’s happening? Are you in pain!?”

It was strange hearing concern from Selene’s dad. Nikolai wanted to make a joke, but his body fell to the side. Vladimir rushed to catch him. His eyes widened, the sudden heat searing his flesh as he glanced at his pale, pained son-in-law.

”I will help you.”

He snapped his head back to the maids and blood knights. ”Get me as much ice as you can, and please contact my daughters!”

Vladimir’s skin peeled away from the heat; his nerves bubbled and hissed as the heat destroyed them.

’Thinking of what I put you through, let’s call this my atonement.’

With that, he activated his blood arts, the Tepes clan’s speciality.

Elemental manipulation. The vampire king’s blood shone brilliantly. Then covered his entire arm, which froze over despite the permafrost. It instantly melted and thawed because of the immense heat of Nikolai’s body; Vladimir refroze his limbs with each step.

His face was calm as if nothing had happened.

Step by step, he approached a small pool, leaving a trail of ice as he walked.

’I cannot believe you are about to transcend into the realm of Ancients at such a young age...’

Vladimir glanced down at Nikolai, without his usual arrogance or questioning gaze; instead, there was a hint of pride. He curled his lips at the corner, and a natural smile, much different from his forced one, formed.

”That’s more impressive than your old man, little wolf.”
