Blood Awakening: The Strongest Hybrid and His Vampire Bride

Chapter 563: The Path I wish to take... Is with you

The neon signs and sounds of people enjoying their nights echoed from the Imperium Hotel’s penthouse balcony. On either side were beautiful gardens crafted and maintained by the highest level of professionals.

At the centre of that, a handsome man sat on a comfortable chair while overlooking S-City and in his arms, while sitting on his lap, was a lovely blonde-haired woman.

’I feel so at peace.’

Nikolai glanced over the massive buildings now closed and wrapped in scaffolding.

The east district was now almost entirely controlled by the Volkov and Fenrir clans. Even this enormous hotel, which he once thought too good for him to stay in... was now his. ”Are you sleepy?” He asked the woman in his arms.

She didn’t speak, only glancing up at him with sleepy, half-closed eyes.

He smiled.

After Risa’s little reward, they paid to watch the movie in full, this time enjoying a normal human’s date, and because it was something special to them, he came to this hotel. The hotel where everything started.

’What a lovely woman.’

Right now, she wasn’t in her Nekomata form, but the form they met in when she worked as a mercenary with Ryan and Brian.

Long, fluffy blonde hair, deep blue eyes... and slightly larger breasts.

”You were so rough.”

”Really?”

”Nn.”

Risa burrowed into his arms.

Wooosh~

A gust of wind blew their hair as clouds half obscured the moonlight, which revealed countless small bites and kiss marks. From the moment they stepped into the room, their bodies were inseparable, the bathroom, the mini kitchen, the bedroom and just a few moments ago, over the balcony railing.

”I’m glad my clone ability is so strong, ehehe.” Risa finally spoke from his chest, burying half her face in his abs, while kissing them. She loved brushing her lips across his skin, faintly touching it until he showed a reaction.

Nikolai glanced at her with a slight frown.

He couldn’t help but glance at the ”figure” on the bed... her legs still spread wide, and the sight of her. ”State” clear to anyone... after they made love on the bed, Risa’s pregnant body reached its limits.

”Why didn’t you just calm down, so we could cuddle?” He asked, curious...

”Mm~ this night was special, at least... to me. I’ve had so much fun... and didn’t you notice that it’s the same day and hotel too.

Nikolai remained silent; in fact, he felt it was unfair to some of his other women, but this was a special day for him and Risa.

It was the exact date and hotel where he first made a mistake and betrayed Selene and Nikita to sleep with Risa... the night he first hunted wraiths, and only now could he understand those emotions he felt.

”Well, I couldn’t help falling for you back then. Whether it’s the human Lisa... or the Nekomata Risa.”

Risa giggled and gently curled his hair around her finger.

”I wish my clone could get pregnant, like sister Kumi.”

”Wouldn’t you have to give up one of your cute tails for that?” Nikolai joked, remembering what Kumiko told him and the sacrifice she made to do so. He wondered why she had gone through the effort in the past.

But now, looking at the two forms of his little cat wife. It started making a little more sense...

”Heh, no way! I’m not sharing with you more than this... thanks to the evolution of my blood art. My clone is the strongest and shares complete senses from pain to pleasure with my actual body, hehe.”

”I guess that’s why you kept climaxing despite me playing with your clone.”

”Ah!? D-Don’t bully me... have you no shame! Hmph.”

Despite her complaints, she continued to enjoy his lap, gently breathing as her eyes drooped. The night might not have been world-shaking or magical to other people. Yet for Risa and Nikolai, it felt like a nostalgic and dreamlike evening.

”Hey, babe...” Risa’s tone became a little softer. ”If I was a normal human girl, would you still have chose me?”

An innocent question.

Nikolai froze for a moment, his hand stroking her silky hair, before he nodded to himself. ”I don’t think it was your race or bloodline that drew me to you. But... the woman Lisa, who I met in that jeep.”

”Hmmmm~ you idiot! So serious.”

With a huff and puff, she curled up, with all her tails wrapping around his arm. She stopped resisting, and her clone vanished in a puff of smoke.

The moment her weight vanished, he sighed... a feeling of loss that Nikolai experienced each time his wives weren’t around. ’To think you’d ask such a question...He glanced at the bed with a warm smile.

”That’s a question I am dying to ask you girls...”

He got up, closed the blinds and flicked on the fire... then shook his head while glancing at the mess, which was his wife.

”I would be so lost without you girls.”

The morning beeps of people heading to work echoed from the open window, as a cool, crisp breeze blew in and woke Nikolai from his dream. ”Ugh...” He couldn’t quite remember it fully, but the scenes and landscape covered in darkness and blood... ’Someone was asking for my help.’

”Good morning, husband.” A chirpy voice sounded from the kitchen.

All Nikolai saw was four tails flapping in the air, while Risa seemed to be bent behind the counter, preparing something.

Clack!

”Come and eat, it’s nice and hot!”

Usually, you’d get room service, but this penthouse came with a fridge stocked full of ingredients and a restaurant-grade cooker and appliances. It was the ideal couples getaway, even a night here would dispel all stress.

”W-Wait... I need to brush my teeth.” Although he hated the nasty taste of eating after brushing, his beautiful fangs were second to none!

”Hmph, so stubborn, can’t you just brush after?”

He glanced back as she began to set the table, swaying her little hips. ”Then, if you have morning breath in the future, I won’t let you refuse kissing me.”

”Kyaak!? How could you be so evil! Hah! Overlord! Tyrant!”

Risa always insisted on brushing her teeth before kissing in the morning. It seemed Nikita and Selene bullied her in the past and claimed she had ”Cat Breath”, and thus, the cute Nekomata became obsessed with it.

’Well it doesn’t help I said that most of the time her breath smells like sperm...’

Though when he did so, she screamed it was because he loved her blowjobs... and insisted she swallow. So Nikolai couldn’t win either way and just gave up.

He finished brushing and sat at the table, avoiding the orange juice and sugary drinks that Risa set out; instead, he just drank the cool water while waiting for his taste to adjust.

”So... who are you going to date today?”

Risa always became nervous and insecure after spending time together.

”Noone, I decided to take a break in between dates.”

”Hmmmmm, why?” She tilted her head while chewing on the seared fish.

”So I can think about you.”

”Nyaa!?”

She dropped her fork onto the plate while avoiding Nikolai’s gaze, her little tails all puffy from the sudden shock of his words. ”B-But we... did everything yesterday.”

”Exactly.” He replied. ”I no longer wish to rush things, and to enjoy my moments with you all... why rush to another woman instead of enjoying moments like these with you?”

”I love your cooking, Risa.” He swallowed a huge chunk of fish and then gazed into her eyes with a little smirk.

The delight of spending time with Risa was her mood; the intensity of her emotions was always on display. At first, it was a little annoying. She would range from tsundere, to a bratty girl... but after becoming closer and knowing her from the small mark on the inside of her buttocks to the freckles behind her ears.

”Do you know how much you brighten up my days?”

”Nya... stop... this....” Her cheeks glowed red as she hid her gaze.

”Hahahaha!”

Nikolai burst into laughter and stood up, smoothly shifting his seat beside her. Leaning on one palm, he used his fork to scoop a piece of buttery fish into her mouth.

”Here, let me feed my little queen.”

”H-Hmmph.... well.... nom....nom...”

Before she could be cheeky, he pushed the fork into her mouth, and she ate it, quietly chewing while looking at him nervously.

”I won’t steal it.”

”Ah... that’s not what I meant, really!”

He couldn’t stop the swell of emotions in his chest, feelings he’d never been calm or at peace enough to accept.

At first, these women, his Luna, were attractive; he felt he needed to love.

Because he was the clan heir.

Or when he became the patriarch.

However, finally, on this quiet and boring morning, he eradicated those doubts and thoughts. This was the reason for the dates and why he focused on her so much during their time together.

”What am I going to do, Risa?”

She suddenly jumped while almost spitting out what he just fed her. ”Eh!? What happened!?”

Nikolai reached out, tapping her cheeks, gently squishing them and watching her frown become a smile, then back to a frown, before she pressed her moist lips together again, letting the buttery grease from her fish drip down her chin.

”I don’t think I can live without this stupid cat, who is stealing my fish...”

Her face looked confused.

When she tilted her head as the brain cells began to flutter, he just smiled.

”Let’s have a human-style marriage when everything is over.”

Risa froze with her mouth opening wide into a huge ’O’ shape, but that was enough. He chuckled and didn’t speak further as they enjoyed a long, quiet breakfast.

It wasn’t until almost evening that the pair returned to the Volkov estate hand in hand. He let the maids collect his car, and like back when they first met, the two walked home.

Nikolai watched her scurry away to the waiting women at the gates, and as the reddening sun shone across his face, he thought to himself.

’Yes. This is the man I want to be.’

And this was the path he would walk after everything was over.

Because he was no longer alone.
