Chapter 2284: Dearest Me

Elara laid on a beach with a violet sun hanging high above. She wore a pair of shades and a sun hat to cover her face, sipping away at some iced tea as her fingers flicked at a screen of hovering runes in front of her.

Ever since her brother appeared on the Demi-God Plane, her life had gotten about a hundred times easier, give or take. Hard for the Vaelryn to give a damn about a failed marriage when they had been kicked out of maybe their most important resource.

Was even harder when very soon thereʼd probably be another serpentes beast horde to worry about. In fact, that beast horde might be coming from the Beast Heaven this time instead of coming from the weaker beasts of their Skai Heaven.

”Ah…” she sighed out in satisfaction.

She didnʼt actually personally know about what happened with Gentrixaul. She had just pieced two and two together because according to reports, that familiar aura had leaked into the Demi-God Plane again.

What could she say? Her brother was better at rage baiting than she was?

”And now theyʼve forgotten all about me. What a comfortable life indeed.”

Elara looked over to the side and tipped her sunglasses down a finger. She caught sight of a worker serving drinks.

”Heʼs cute. Not cute enough to compare to my hubby, though.”

She was, of course, talking about a certain Kael Darkmane who avoided her like the plague.

”Older brothers are so useful until theyʼre not.” Elara said, rolling her eyes. ”I guess I should help.”

Was Kael basically deathly afraid of Sylas? Yes.

Did Elara also consider that she was a minor? No. Not at all. This was definitely all of Sylasʼ fault for sure.

”Now… how do I best make their lives a living hell.” Elara grinned, pushing her sunglasses back up.

She knew the main problem the Grimblades were facing now. If the news that the guilds had been destroyed came out, it would be good, but not good enough.

That was because people would start asking why? And if they found out it was because Sylas had gone to save their parents, then theyʼd ask another question… If the Grimblades were so powerful, then how did two of them just get ripped up like this?

It had to be remembered that a large part of the Skai Heaven thought that the Grimblades were extending their influence by sending their members to other organizations like this.

But another half believed that the Grimblades were just playing powerhouses and were actually just too weak to stop their members from being poached.

Elara obviously didnʼt want the latter opinion to win out. But it would if this information was allowed to go unchallenged. What she needed to do was spin a narrative about why Sylas would choose to destroy them.

And she had the perfect answer.

They hated Demons and the Madness Seeds, right? At least on the surface.

So… that would be their answer.

Elara cracked her knuckles. ”I should be getting paid for this.”

She grinned. Who was she kidding? Sheʼd be a shit-disturber for free.

”Canʼt forget to kick my ʼfiancéʼ in the balls too while Iʼm at it.”

Sylas didnʼt know what his sister was doing. Fighting PR battles wasnʼt exactly his style. His main focus was getting stronger.

Luckily for him, wiping out two organizations with Legends of the Demi-God Plane and an S-tier each between them was very good for exactly that.

Especially when they were Rune Masters.

The trouble was that Sylas didnʼt have the time nor patience to figure out how to take, organize, and deal with all of the resources he needed to handle.

But what he did have was Ryn and Dominan.

He hadnʼt been able to kill them before, and when he returned, he found them still nursing their injuries. The two were confident, and they had every right to be. They thought it wouldnʼt be long before their S-tiers came back with a prisoner in tow.

When they sensed the ship, they thought that that was exactly what happened. Such a valuable ship would have definitely been taken. Even their organization didnʼt have an S-tier ship for convenient travel.

However, they quickly found out that they were wrong.

Very wrong.

A familiar pressure slammed into the both of them once more, their Lust Seed kernels tearing into their bodies with wave upon waves of endless pain, a siren of helplessness filling their hearts.

When Sylas stepped out once again, they truly couldnʼt believe their eyes. And when they finally registered just what it meant for Sylas to be standing here with their S-tiers being nowhere to be found… Their hearts completely gave way.

Sylas had expected far more of a battle when he returned. He had run away without killing them in the first place because it would take too much effort to deal with them. He wouldnʼt have had the time before the S-tiers arrived.

But Will was quite a special thing. When you lost yourself to fear, doubt, and insecurity, what Will you did have became a lot weaker… And there was little that could crush a Legendʼs spirit more than knowing for a fact an S-tier that had lorded above them had died… Not just one of them…

But two of them.

When that doubt rooted in their souls, the effect that Sylasʼ Lust Seed had on theirs multiplied several times over. They could only look up in fear.

But to their shock, Sylas didnʼt kill them even though he very easily could have. Instead… he brought out a contract he hadnʼt used since he brought it out for Alex and a certain other young man he had long since killed… Jala.

Eloise and Santz could have never guessed that while they were planning to use such a thing on Sylas, Sylas would instead turn around and use it on two of their own… And what Sylas didnʼt know was that while Santz was dead…

Eloise was not.

...

An older woman with nearly half her body missing lay on a table.

Another woman stood over her, clicking her tongue.

”Oh my dearest me… what trouble have you gotten yourself into to end up in such a state... And why do I smell so much unbridled Lust on you…?”
