Chapter 2537: Chapter 2537: Lee Family Is Ashamed About Winter Lee

Patriarch Lee was ashamed of Winter Lee. He asked the people to bring Winter Lee home for the funeral. Cindy Lee did not stop crying after she saw her mother’s corpse. She thought her grandfather would hold a grand funeral for her mother, but her grandfather just told the servant to prepare a small funeral for her mother. She lost her temper and shouted.

”Stop!” Cindy Lee’s shout stopped everyone on track.

Her eyes landed on everyone’s face. She could see that they did not feel anything about her mother’s death. Even her grandfather looked indifferent toward her mother’s death. Only her grandmother seemed to be in tears after seeing her daughter’s corpse.

”Cindy, you can not be so wilful anymore. No one can protect you anymore if you are like this. You need to change your attitude.” Angelica Lee’s Mother, Jesicca Smith, advised.

”First Sister-in-law, Fourth Sister really spoil her daughter. That is why her daughter turned out to be like this.” The second aunt, Marilyn Brown, added.

”Cindy, that is enough.” Patriarch Lee stated.

”Grandpa, my mother is your only daughter. This funeral is really lacking.” Cindy Lee protested.

”You should be grateful that there will be a funeral.” Patriarch Lee stated.

”Grandpa, how could you say something like that?” Cindy Lee was shocked to hear her grandfather say something like that about her mother.

”Cindy, don’t tell me that you don’t forget about the news that your mother hired the hitman to kill someone, but she refused to pay, causing that man to expose your mother’s plan? That brings shame to our family’s name.” Angelica Lee stated.

”So, what?” Cindy Lee asked.

”Grandpa is right. You should be grateful that there will be a funeral. If we hold a grand funeral for your mother, the attention will gaze upon our family again. We are still in the recovery phase.” Angelica Lee stated.

”That’s right.”

”Angelica is right.”

”We need to stay low for now.”

”Angelica Lee is indeed the heir to our family. She is always thinking about our family.”

Cindy Lee glared at Angelica Lee before storming out of the living room. She went to the room where they placed her mother’s corpse. The funeral would be held tomorrow. She cried again when she saw her mother’s pale face.

She refused to believe that her mother had hired a hitman to kill someone. If her mother planned something, she would hear about that. But this time, she never heard anything about that.

She looked at the news. It seemed her family wanted to abandon her mother instead of investigating the matter. This action would make people think that her mother was really hiring the hitman to kill someone.

...

The police managed to find a piece of evidence. It was the serial number of the engine. From that, they found the owner of the car. The car was owned by a rental company that did the rental car business. The police went to the company to find out who was renting the car during the time.

Two names appeared. Tang Yu Qi and Long Hui. They were foreigner. However, they made a report about the car that had been missing. They suspected that the car had been stolen. They were in the night market area at that time. When they tried to find the car, it was not in the parking spot where they had parked it.

The next day, they came to the company to inform them about that. Both of them knew that they were wrong. They did not have the company to sue them. So, they paid for the loss. Because of that, the company did not make a police report about the missing car. The company also did not know that the car was involved in the accident that was over in the news.

The police went to the hotel to meet Yu Qi and Long Hui. The hotel staff called the phone in the hotel room, informing Yu Qi and Long Hui that police officers wanted to see them. When Yu Qi received the call and told Long Hui about that, they smiled, knowing that they had done a good job of preparing for the matter.

Yu Qi told the hotel staff that she and Long Hui would be going down. The hotel staff thanked Yu Qi and ended the call.

”Let’s go and see them.” Long Hui nodded.

Yu Qi nodded. Both of them went to the lobby. The staff hotel greeted them. The hotel staff asked them to follow him. The police officers were waiting in the conference room. The manager allowed the police officer to use the conference room because he did not want other guests to see the police officers at their hotel lobby. It might ruin the hotel’s reputation.

Not to mention that the police officer did not act aggressively when they were asking about Yu Qi and Long Hui. He thought these foreigners had not done anything wrong.

The woman and the man came into the conference room. They knew that this must be Tang Yu Qi and Long Hui.

”Hello, Mr Long and Miss Tang. I am Captain Thomas from the police department.” Captain Thomas used the English language to speak since they were foreigners.

Long Hui shook his hand with Captain Thomas. Captain Thomas’s eyes flickered as his hand shook Long Hui’s hand. He could feel the strength in that handshake.
