Star Lord: Rob the alien race and you will get a hundred times the reward

Chapter 148: Unable to EscapeChapter 148: Unable to Escape

The attack from an unknown enemy bound Luo Shaohua’s First Army. The physical laws of the universe were changing, and physical constants were fluctuating like waves. The space within a radius of ten light times of the fleet was separated from the universe and became two completely different worlds.

The rule-based warships within the fleet were struggling to withstand the rule-based protection, isolating themselves from the collision of different rules inside and outside, and maintaining the fleet’s only living space.

Luo Shaohua’s face looked extremely ugly. He was speechless now. He was inexplicably hit by a high-standard rule attack, and it was an ultra-long-range targeted attack. It didn’t matter to him who attacked him. The important thing was to bring the fleet back, or at least take the core part of the fleet away.

The drastic changes in the physical rules constantly impacted the fleet’s protective barrier, and energy consumption rose sharply. The reactor energy supply of the rule warships had reached its limit, but it was still unable to maintain the protective barrier. It could only mobilize energy support from other large warships while shrinking the fleet’s range and reducing the barrier to save energy expenses.

On the other side, Chen Wen and Bai Haitang are now in the void several light years away. The fleet’s detection radar is running at full power, and the detectors scattered hundreds of light years around are activated, but they still have no idea who the enemy is and where they are.

Without finding the enemy, it is impossible to block the enemy’s attack from a physical level. If the enemy can lock on to the First Army, then it can also lock on to their Second and Third Armies.

”What should I do?” Bai Haitang couldn’t think of any strategy to defeat the enemy for a moment. He watched as he was trapped in the enemy’s ambush and was powerless to do anything.

Chen Wen didn’t have any good solution now. The information about the fleet being attacked had been passed back to the territory, but distant water could not quench immediate thirst. Moreover, most of the territory’s troops were here, and there were special warships for use in various special environments. Even so, the enemy still hit them hard. It would be fine if they were just attacked, and it was normal to encounter enemies during interstellar navigation, but it was a problem not even knowing where the enemy was. It would be embarrassing to tell others about it.

”What about the General Staff? Do they have any solutions?” Chen Wen couldn’t think of a solution himself, so he could only pin his hopes on the General Staff.

Tao Ziyu, deputy chief of staff of the army group, appeared on the command platform in a flash. ”Reporting to the commander, after multiple verifications, we have come to a conclusion that there is only one civilization with this kind of strength within 5,000 light years, the intelligent mechanical civilization of the Tuomu Thunder Galaxy.”

”Therefore, we believe that the attack suffered by the First Army was most likely caused by the intelligent civilization of the Tuomu Thunder Galaxy.”

Chen Wen and Bai Haitang frowned. They hadn’t even started to cause trouble for each other yet, but this intelligent machine was already rushing to cause trouble for them.

After reviewing the data submitted by the General Staff, the two basically determined that the enemy came from the Tuomu Thunder Galaxy. As a force that has fought against human civilization and won and lost, they are the only ones with such strength. However, launching ultra-long-range rule strikes across a distance of tens of thousands of light years really requires a lot of brain problems.

Luo Shaohua’s First Army can now rely on the rule warships in the fleet to resist the opponent’s rule attacks. Obviously, the opponent’s damage is not high, at least it is still within the response range of the Star Sea Territory. The energy required to launch a rule attack across tens of thousands of light years has been shortened to within a thousand light years, which is enough to destroy most of the First Army in one blow. But now it is very likely that if the protective barrier is not broken, not even a single escort-class battleship will be lost.

”The distance is too far, and the Tuomu Thunder Galaxy is the enemy’s base camp. It is impossible for our fleet to run over and deliver themselves to their door.” Bai Haitang thought and said: ”How about we gather all the rule warships, forcibly cut off the opponent’s connection, and then suppress those abnormal rule fluctuations!”

Chen Wen thought for a moment and said, ”Okay, but the conventional fleet must continue to move forward to avoid the opponent’s long-range lock.”

”Expand the folding space, divide it into several parts, and they don’t need to be too far apart, a few light years will be enough. It depends on whether the other party really has so much energy that they can squander it at will. If you have the ability, just attack all the folding spaces!” Bai Haitang was in a bad mood. He was inexplicably targeted by the intelligent machine. Bai was beaten, but he didn’t dare to go over and fight back even though he knew where the person was.

The two of them did what they said. Most of the rule-class battleships were mobilized, and the rest provided basic rule protection for the folded space, so that the ordinary fleet would not be easily destroyed and could support until the rule-class battleships returned for support.

Watching a dozen folded spaces disappear into the void, the space fluctuations under the rule barrier were very small, and conventional detectors could easily ignore these space fluctuations.

Chen Wen and his companions flew towards the First Army with the gathered rule-class warships in a fan-shaped array. The rule equipment of all the warships were connected together. At the same time, they urged the rules to push the rules of the universe forward, forcibly suppressing the abnormal rules in the strike range and reducing their fluctuation frequency by a large amount at once.

The First Army was the first to discover the abnormal changes in the external rules. The frequency of the rules’ attacks was slowing down, and the intensity of erosion was greatly reduced. It was as if more than half of the energy had been separated. The attack without sufficient energy support was already somewhat powerless.

”Human reinforcements found, scan completed, more than 3,000 level 7 rule-level technological warships!”

”The Beyond Visual Range Matrix is activating...”

”The space channel has completed the coordinate positioning, and the wormhole is being generated!”

“智能生命序列号03-307，03-306，03-302序列舰队正在集结，预计二十五分钟之后完成。”

”The white dwarf battle star is starting up, and the energy is being activated!”

……

Seeing that the rule attack was suppressed by themselves, Bai Haitang and Chen Wen couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief. As long as it worked, it was good. They were just afraid that the opponent’s energy supply was really invincible and they were not afraid of consumption. Otherwise, it would be really difficult for them to rescue the First Army.

Luo Shaohua quickly contacted them and escaped from the attack range with the help of the other party despite the barrier of rules.

”Hurry up and leave. Our every move is under the surveillance of the other party. We must get out of their surveillance immediately.” Bai Haitang urged everyone to leave quickly because they could not judge when the follow-up attack from the intelligent machines would come.

The fleet set sail in a hurry and moved at high speed towards the direction of Galaxy No. 106.

After walking for three hours and performing full-power jumps fifteen times, the distance to the Tuomu Thunder Galaxy has increased by more than 20,000 light years, and it has entered the inner region of the local galaxy.

When Liu Wen, who was far away, received the notification from Laura, a series of question marks popped up in his head. He stopped practicing psychic energy and checked the detailed information.

”I see. It’s the third-order intelligent life form of the Tuomu Thunder Galaxy. The 308 under its command helped me earn a lot of resources and scientific data, which laid the foundation for the advantage of my Xinghai territory.”

Liu Wen crossed his arms and looked at the star map projected by Laura. In the division of forces on it, the red area belonging to the intelligent machines occupied most of the field of vision and almost dominated most of the supercluster area.

This is still the side close to the human territory. Further away there are intelligent machine territories that emerge like bacteria. Their serial numbers are different, but what they have in common is that all the surrounding civilizations are its enemies. However, no civilization is willing to spend a huge price to completely eliminate them.

It’s not that it can’t be done. If you are really determined, any civilization that fights against humans can destroy the local intelligent civilization after paying a huge price. But there is one thing, that is, the benefits of fighting against intelligent civilizations are too low. Apart from the wreckage of warships, the intelligent territory will not leave anything valuable for you. In other words, actively fighting against intelligent civilizations is a pure loss-making business.

This is more obvious in areas where the omnics have been entrenched for a long time. All valuable materials have been emptied out and thrown into smelting furnaces to be forged into various construction materials, which are used to build various warships or high-level mechanical combat forces. ”But others may lose money when fighting against omnics, but I have the golden finger to back me up, so I won’t lose money at all. Unless the crew casualties are too high, which will make it difficult to recruit soldiers for the territory, otherwise a 2:1 casualty ratio is a profit.”

After thinking for a while, Liu Wen still shook his head. The power he currently had was not enough to compete head-on with the intelligent machines.

The Tuomu Thunder Galaxy is just a galaxy on the edge of the intelligent machinery. Its real power is not strong. After all, this direction is close to human civilization. It is a very risky thing to enter and develop the star field on a large scale before accumulating enough power. Even the most iron-headed person will not rush to force the other party to kill it.

It is also not a good idea to take the initiative to provoke the other party. If the intelligent machines take the initiative to start a war and do not launch a large-scale attack on human civilization, the Human Union will not clean up his mess.

After much deliberation, Liu Wen decided to just keep the fleet. At the same time, he also had to add the intelligent machinery, a monster-killing artifact, in the later stage and find a way to establish a war of attrition area. As long as the fighting continued, the more accumulated gold finger rewards would be more valuable.

”Laura, send out the Calabash Brothers to protect the fleet. If the Omnics show any signs of going deep into the star field, cut off their claws.”

After Liu Wen’s order was given, Laura immediately mobilized a secret industrial cluster in the Sera Industrial Zone. The planetary dock structure opened, revealing ten pyramid-like spaceships inside.

Ten shuttles flew in from outside and entered the interior of the spacecraft. The crew members entered the safety cabin through particle transmission and connected to the intelligent center. All consciousness sank into the virtual bridge and controlled the warship through the virtual world with a reaction speed five times faster than reality.

The internal energy reactor was activated, and surging energy poured into various equipment on the spacecraft.

”The antimatter-level reactor is operating normally, the energy supply is normal, and the output power is stable!”

”The vacuum zero-point energy absorption conversion equipment is operating normally.”

”Weapon systems are functioning normally.”

”Conventional propulsion system is normal, curvature navigation system is normal, and space jump system is normal.”

”The protection system is normal.”

”The multifunctional space-time tunnel reconnaissance radar is functioning normally.”

”The target position has been determined, start the jump engine, the maximum jump distance has been locked, start the jump!”

Luo Shaohua and others who were evacuating quickly in the distance encountered another problem. After they reunited with the conventional fleet, three completed wormhole channels appeared in the void in front of the galaxy where the three fleets were located.

A large number of mobile fortresses led by intelligent fleets appeared in front of them. The vast number of armed robots formed dark clouds and approached like a group of flexible void fighters.

”Damn it! This group of intelligent machines actually opened three space wormholes in front of us. This is forcing us to fight a battle!” Luo Shaohua frowned. The First Army had previously suffered from excessive energy loss and many equipment were damaged, and they have not yet been repaired. Now they have to go to war again. This is not good news for the fleet.

Bai Haitang and Chen Wen also knew the predicament of the First Army, so they placed it in the rear to act as auxiliary output, while they formed a three-legged defensive formation with each other as support.

”Multiple composite force field shields deployed.”

”The mind barrier is activated!”

”Space anchor has been deployed!”

”The rule barrier has been activated!”

”Drone swarm ready to drop!”

”Special warships are ready for battle!”

……

The two sides started a war in the void. There was no prelude, no negotiation. The fleets opened fire as soon as they reached the firing range.

Energy columns poured out, swarms of drones and armed robots collided with each other, orange-yellow particle beams, blazing white ion balls, and scarlet lasers shone together.

The rule-based warships of both sides were looking for space to attack. The battlefield was too vast and the defenses of both sides were already maxed out. Therefore, it was impossible to rely on the large-scale lethality of rule-based attacks to eliminate a large number of enemy ships at one time.

With multiple layers of protection, it takes a lot of strength to break through the defense layer. How can one carry out a covering attack while dispersing the force? If the opponent’s intelligent machine could do this, it would have run away long ago.

More than 10,000 legion troops of the Star Fleet and more than 20,000 legion troops successively deployed by the Omnics started a war in the void between galaxies. The war lasted for dozens of light hours.

This war broke out suddenly without any reason or communication, and it scared the surrounding alien civilizations. After emergency communication, these civilizations suddenly discovered that they didn’t even know where the two warring parties came from or why they started the war!
Luo Shaohua and others have no time to think about how worried and frightened the alien civilizations in the surrounding galaxies are. They just want to quickly suppress the intelligent fleet back into the space channel.

Originally, no conventional fleet dared to release warships or drones controlled by intelligent centers in front of the intelligent fleet. After all, the strongest weapon of the intelligent civilization is network information. Playing with drones in front of the enemy is just like asking for trouble, isn’t it?
The reason why Luo Shaohua and others dare to use these now is because of the existence of Laura’s sub-body. Laura, who is also a data life, is here. Although her offense is insufficient, her defense is still no problem.

A large number of drones blocked the armed robots of the intelligent machines and provided a barrier for the fleet. Otherwise, if the large number of armed robots rushed to the front, the conventional fleet of the fleet would probably be completely destroyed in a short period of time.
