Rebirth: The Courtyard Bride Is Cool and Radiant

Chapter 683: Chapter 683: It Truly Is a Good Beginning

Gui Kairong heard Yunyi’s words, his brow furrowed, somewhat confused.

Seeing him like this, Yunyi explained, ”Actually, outside stimulation might not be completely bad for her. It’s like when someone is injured and it festers. If left unattended, the abscess might grow, but if pressure from outside or braving the pain to pierce it and squeeze out the pus, followed by a few days of care, it can recover.

Because of the fear she might get stimulated, you dare not let her contact the outside world at all, it seems good for her but actually not.

Still, I understand your thinking, after all, avoiding outside triggers makes her less prone to episodes, but it doesn’t treat the root cause.

Since you trust me to bring her here from far away, rest assured, I will do my best to treat her, and hopefully return you a gentle and gracious sister after a few months.”

Gui Kairong exhaled heavily: ”Okay.”

Looking at his sister’s sleeping face, it seemed he made a decision in his heart: ”I’ll head out for a bit.”

Yunyi nodded slightly: ”Alright.”

Seeing him leave, Huo Jiayuan quietly went outside, tiptoeing to peer inside.

Yunyi checked the time, skillfully collected the needles, then softly called to the outside, ”Come in.”

Upon hearing, Huo Jiayuan gently walked in: ”Is Sister Kailan alright?”

Yunyi sterilized and put away the silver needles: ”She’s fine. It might be the combined effect of acupuncture and massage, her nerves relaxed, and she’s asleep.”

Huo Jiayuan blinked and kept her eyes fixed on the sleeping person: ”I heard Sister Kailan hasn’t slept well since she got sick, always in light sleep, any noise would wake her. Seeing her like this now, she should be in deep sleep, right?”

Yunyi didn’t expect this future sister-in-law to know this: ”Yes, it’s indeed a good start.”

Yunyi helped Gui Kailan by placing a blanket over her stomach, then led Huo Jiayuan outside.

Just as they reached the courtyard, Gui Kairong returned, glanced at the room where his sister was, and seeing Yunyi nod towards him, his expression grew more determined: ”I’ve arranged with that neighbor, she’ll set off tomorrow.”

Upon hearing this, Yunyi was even more relieved, with someone special taking care of her, she could be more reassured at work.

The Workers’ Hospital is only over two hundred meters away from this yard, if anything happened, she could rush back immediately.

The capable Grandma Su really cared for Gui Kailan, without any delay, she packed her things quickly and headed to the train station, catching the latest train and heading towards Ji City.

When Gui Kairong woke up, it was already midnight, seeing his brother by the bedside, his eyes unexpectedly reddened.

He gently called: ”Kairong.”

Hearing the voice, Gui Kairong immediately sat up: ”Sister, you’re awake?”

He then stood up: ”How do you feel, are you hungry?”

A flurry of concern made Gui Kailan feel guilty: ”Not hungry, you should go to sleep.”

After all, they were at someone else’s house, she didn’t want to trouble them too much. But just as she said this, Gui Kailan’s stomach growled.

Her brother was naturally well aware of his sister’s situation; she ate too little each meal and wasn’t full before the next meal: ”Wait a moment, I’ll get you something to eat.”

Yunyi knew Gui Kailan’s situation well, so before leaving, she specially cooked lean meat porridge and kept it warm on the stove.

Today, Gui Kailan’s situation was special, so Gui Kairong stayed to take care of her instead of returning to the inn, and Huo Jingrui stayed as well. After all, with a male guest, he couldn’t leave his sister alone there.
