Rebirth: The Courtyard Bride Is Cool and Radiant

Chapter 653: Chapter 653: Gui Kailan Arrives

By the time they arrived at the canteen, the food was already served.

As soon as they entered, they smelled the aroma of roast meat.

Huo Jingrui knew Yunyi loved roasted lamb ribs, so after settling Yunyi down, he first went to get a plate: ”Try some.”

Seeing that people in the canteen were already eating heartily, Yunyi didn’t hold back: ”Let’s eat together.”

Huo Jingrui gestured for her to start eating while he went to get more food.

The whole lamb banquet was truly a delight for Yunyi, and the chef’s skills were undeniably excellent.

Huo Jingrui even stole a few tricks, planning to cook for Yunyi himself next time when there’s a chance.

When they returned from the Armed Forces Department, they saw a jeep parked under the dormitory building, but they only glanced at it without paying it much mind.

Huo Jingrui stopped downstairs: ”You go on up; get some rest early. I’ll bring breakfast over tomorrow morning.”

Yunyi waved her hand: ”No need, I’ll make breakfast myself in the morning, just come over to eat.”

After all, they were engaged and would get their certificate in a few months, and Yunyi didn’t care what others might say.

Huo Jingrui smiled and agreed: ”Okay, then I’ll come over early tomorrow.”

Just as Yunyi was about to head upstairs, the jeep next to them opened: ”Jingrui, Yunyi.”

They both turned to look in that direction: ”Director Gu/Brother Gu.”

Yunyi immediately understood why Gui Kairong was here: ”Did you bring someone?”

Gui Kairong nodded: ”I’m sorry, I was delayed by some things.”

Yunyi glanced at the car: ”When did you arrive? Would you like to find a place to rest, or should we check her condition first?”

Gui Kairong also glanced at the car: ”Tomorrow, let’s let her rest first.”

Yunyi thought of something: ”I forgot to tell you about my working in the county, did you come here unnecessarily?”

Gui Kairong waved his hand: ”No, before I came, I called my cousin on the farm. He told me you were already working in the county, so I came directly.”

Just as they were talking, there was movement in the car: ”Kairong, I’m tired and want to sleep.”

Gui Kairong didn’t dare to delay, fearing his sister might get upset: ”Alright, I’m on it.”

He turned and said to Yunyi: ”I’ll take her to settle down first, and tomorrow I’ll bring her over to see you.”

Yunyi nodded, thinking it would be best to discuss things with her tomorrow.

For Gui Kailan’s situation, it couldn’t be cured overnight, so she couldn’t leave immediately.

After all, her condition wasn’t like others’, it wasn’t just about taking medicine home.

Huo Jingrui watched the car leave: ”Sister Kailan’s illness is always unstable; when she has an episode, she can hurt people. Be sure to pay attention when treating her in the future.”

Yunyi had been informed about Gui Kailan’s situation before: ”I remember.”

Upon returning to the dorm room assigned to her, Yunyi closed the door and entered the space, preparing to take a bath to get rid of the smell of lamb.

A few days ago, Jingrui and the others had gone out for business and brought Yunyi a small basket of strawberries, which Yunyi had planted in the space, and they were already ripe enough to eat.

She picked a small basket and brought it to the soup pool.

She gathered some clothes to change into before removing hers.

Thinking that it was already June, and in a few months, the college entrance examination would resume, she thought she should get her textbooks back out, as she couldn’t be arrogant enough to get into a prestigious school without reviewing them.

Though she hadn’t yet decided on which major to choose at that time.
