Rebirth: The Courtyard Bride Is Cool and Radiant

Chapter 669: Chapter 669: What’s Going On

Ye Wenhui leaned over to Yunyi: ”Wu Bingjie has returned to the city.”

Yunyi looked puzzled: ”What’s going on?”

Ye Wenhui helped Yunyi organize the vegetables she brought: ”I heard he got into the Workers, Peasants and Soldiers University.”

Upon hearing this, Yunyi immediately understood: ”In that case, the accountant’s family’s younger daughter is probably going to regret it.”

Ye Wenhui didn’t understand: ”What do you mean?”

Yunyi spoke as she put the wontons in the pot: ”Wu Bingjie, due to life pressure, had to marry the accountant’s family’s daughter from the Zhang Family Village, but Wu Bingjie doesn’t actually like that girl. Do you think when he succeeds in his studies in the future, Accountant Zhang will still have the ability to control Wu Bingjie?”

Ye Wenhui also found what Yunyi said reasonable, but still said: ”Before Wu Bingjie left, Accountant Zhang made them get a marriage certificate in the county.”

Yunyi poured water into the pot again and was about to say something when she heard Wei Zijia from behind: ”Knowing Wu Bingjie’s nature, even with a marriage certificate, it might not restrain him. After all, once he leaves, with mountains and rivers between them, no matter how good Accountant Zhang is at calculating, he won’t be able to reach him.”

Yunyi agreed: ”Zi Shi is right, with Wu Bingjie’s personality, the first thing he will do after graduation is come back for a divorce.”

Ye Wenhui sighed: ”Accountant Zhang is foolish too, knowing he can’t keep someone, yet still letting his daughter marry Wu Bingjie. Isn’t he just harming his daughter?”

Yunyi laughed: ”It’s probably a gamble, wanting his sons to bask in the glory of having a city son-in-law, but I’m afraid he’s going to be disappointed.”

The wontons were done, and Yunyi served three bowls: ”Come over and taste it.”

Wei Zijia felt a bit embarrassed, but since Yunyi insisted, she didn’t act coy.

Yunyi handed them spoons: ”Did you guys have something to do in the county today?”

Ye Wenhui took a sip of soup before speaking: ”I’m mainly accompanying Zijia here, and also to send a letter home.”

Yunyi looked at Wei Zijia.

Wei Zijia didn’t know how to tell Yunyi for a moment.

It was Ye Wenhui who helped explain: ”The Qiao Family has written, and they’re reluctantly agreeing to their marriage, but they’ve set a condition to have children soon after marriage. So, she wanted to come and ask you to check her health to see if any adjustments need to be made in advance.”

Wei Zijia blushed immediately, looking down, too embarrassed to look at Yunyi.

Yunyi smiled: ”Alright, there’s nothing wrong with that. But it’s best to bring Qiao Wenyu along too, since having children after marriage isn’t just the woman’s responsibility.”

Wei Zijia said softly: ”He’s also here, but he went to find someone with Zheng Xuewen. He’ll come over to meet us later.”

Yunyi looked at Wei Zijia: ”What did Qiao Wenyu say?”

Wei Zijia coughed lightly; ”He said as long as his family agrees to the marriage, it’s fine. As for having children, it’s best to let things happen naturally and not take his family’s words to heart.”

Yunyi couldn’t help but nod: ”Zijia, Wenyu truly cares for you. He’s right, with his protection, you really don’t need to feel too pressured.”

Wei Zijia nodded: ”I understand what you’re saying, so I just want to check my health first. If everything’s fine, then I’ll just let things be.”

Upon hearing this, Yunyi said: ”Alright, after we finish eating, I’ll check your pulse.”

Then she added: ”When Qiao Wenyu comes over, I’ll check him too, to make sure he doesn’t hold you back.”

With that, Ye Wenhui laughed, while Wei Zijia’s face turned even redder.
