Rebirth: The Courtyard Bride Is Cool and Radiant

Chapter 681: Chapter 681: Treatment

Gui Kairong soothingly patted his sister’s shoulder: ”It’s okay, don’t be afraid, remember what I told you before, alright.”

Gui Kailan tightly grasped her brother’s arm with both hands, her eyes filled with fear.

After Yunyi sterilized the silver needle, she gestured for Gui Kairong to move his arm aside a little, and deftly applied the needle to Gui Kailan.

Gui Kairong wore a look of melancholy on his face; he hadn’t even left yet and had already started worrying. What if he wasn’t around and his sister had another episode? Could Yunyi handle it alone? And what if no one was home like today, what would happen then?

But in a few days, he had to leave for the South, and the filming task couldn’t be postponed. For a moment, he was uncertain about what to do.

Yunyi might have noticed his concern: ”Who took care of Sister Kailan for you when you left Beijing before?”

Gui Kairong sighed: ”It was an old neighbor; when I wasn’t around, she helped take care of her. But it’s a long way, it’s not ideal to ask someone to travel all the way from Beijing.”

Yunyi suggested: ”Maybe you could give her a call, just to see if she would consider it a chance to travel, with food and wages provided. You never know, she might be willing to come out.”

Gui Kairong pondered for a moment: ”Okay, I’ll call her later.”

Yunyi wasn’t annoyed by the trouble Gui Kailan might cause; she was mainly concerned that if no one was at home and she had an episode, it would be troublesome.

Having someone familiar with her by her side would make her treatment more effective.

The noise outside continued, but perhaps it was due to the calming incense or Yunyi’s acupuncture working, Gui Kailan’s body gradually relaxed, and her complexion improved somewhat.

Once she was completely relaxed, Yunyi said to Gui Kairong: ”Try to get her to lie on the bed, I’m going to apply needles to her feet.”

Gui Kairong, although a bit puzzled, complied with her request.

Gui Kailan was cooperative and lay down obediently.

Soon Yunyi had finished applying the needles, then took out a medicinal pill and fed it to Gui Kailan: ”Hold it in your mouth, don’t swallow.”

The moment the pill entered her mouth, the faint minty taste instantly cleared her mind, and as it slowly spread down her throat, her body felt immensely comfortable.

She couldn’t help but murmur: ”Feels so good.”

Despite having seen many doctors, this was the first time her sister had said such words during treatment.

Gui Kairong couldn’t help but gain some confidence.

He took out another pill and placed it on a bottle cap: ”After fifteen minutes, feed her this pill again, holding it in her mouth without swallowing.”

Having given his instructions clearly, Yunyi left the room. After all, the noise outside could still be heard sporadically, and she wanted to find out what was happening. They couldn’t have such uproar every few days, or Gui Kailan wouldn’t be able to take it.

As soon as Yunyi came out, Huo Jiayuan approached her: ”Fourth Sister-in-law, my brother went there just now. It’s lucky they don’t live next to us; otherwise, the noise would be unbearable.”

Yunyi looked in the direction she pointed: ”You stay in the yard; I’ll go take a look.”

Huo Jiayuan followed to the front gate but didn’t go any further: ”Alright.”

Around mealtime, Yunyi had come more often recently, but it was the first time she encountered something like this. Seeing Director Feng’s wife, she asked: ”Auntie, what’s going on?”

Luo Yuping saw it was Yunyi: ”The eldest daughter-in-law of Deputy Director Lu’s family stole things from home to send to her own family, and her mother-in-law caught her, and now they’re causing a scene.”

At that moment, a voice came from the Lu family’s yard: ”I did take things to send to my family, but haven’t you ever taken anything? Why single me out?”
