Rebirth: The Courtyard Bride Is Cool and Radiant

Chapter 679: Chapter 679: Helping Her Fully Return to a Normal Life

When they returned to the family compound, the Gu family siblings had already finished preparing the meal: ”You’re back?”

Gui Kailan had moved in yesterday afternoon. Initially, Yunyi wanted her to stay at her place, but the Tubular Building there was too noisy, and Yunyi was worried that Gui Kailan wouldn’t be able to handle it and might relapse.

Huo Jingrui had packed his things and moved to the factory yesterday.

Gui Kairong naturally felt a bit embarrassed, but for the sake of his sister’s illness, he knew this was the best for her. After all, his sister was going to stay here for a long time, and he wasn’t comfortable leaving her alone in a hotel.

If she stayed at Yunyi’s place, the chatter of people might become a problem, and if anything unexpected happened, it would also be a burden on Yunyi.

Moving to Huo Jingrui’s place, at least it was quiet, and with a yard, his sister had enough space to move around. Even if she didn’t go outside, she wouldn’t feel too confined.

Originally, he planned to wait until Yunyi left before letting his sister move in, but he heard that Huo Jiayuan was coming to stay for a while. With someone to accompany her, he let his sister move in earlier, so she could get used to it in advance.

Last night, Huo Jingrui and Yunyi had dinner there and interacted with Gui Kailan.

She also knew that Yunyi was going to treat her illness, and she would be staying here for some time. Her brother couldn’t always stay with her here, so she was trying hard to get along with Yunyi.

If Huo Jiayuan hadn’t come, Yunyi was ready to move in and stay with her. However, knowing that Jiayuan was coming for a brief stay, Yunyi thought it would be perfect for Gui Kailan to have her company.

Gui Kairong considered that when Huo Jiayuan moved in, it wouldn’t be convenient for him to stay in the courtyard all the time, so he had his sister move in a day earlier.

Yunyi smelled the fragrance in the air: ”What delicious food have you made? It smells wonderful.”

Gui Kailan smiled bashfully and said: ”Kairong helped. We made sweet and sour pork, steamed white fish, white meat blood sausage, and chicken stew.”

Thinking of something, she added with a smile, ”We added the ginseng whiskers Yunyi gave us.”

Gui Kairong said with a smile: ”Come inside, the food is ready. Let’s wash our hands and eat.”

Huo Jingrui, carrying his sister’s luggage, said to the Gu family siblings: ”Thank you for your hard work.”

Gui Kairong disagreed and said: ”We didn’t stand on ceremony with you, yet you’re being courteous to us. In a few days, I have to leave. My sister will still need your care afterward. It’s nothing for me to do this, go wash your hands and let’s eat.”

Gui Kailan pointed to the water beside her and said: ”There’s water over there.”

Yunyi looked at Gui Kailan, feeling a pang of sympathy in her heart, thinking: I must help her recover and return to a normal life.

Seeing Gui Kairong, who had been standing by her side all this while, Yunyi felt a surge of gratitude in her heart.

Without Gui Kairong’s years of care, Gui Kailan’s fate would be unimaginable.

It was precisely to take better care of his sister that Gui Kairong had not started a family yet.

With Gui Kairong’s talent and looks, many people wanted to marry him.

When he discovered that his partner was secretly harming his sister, he immediately broke up and thereafter rejected others’ goodwill, dedicating himself solely to caring for his sister.

It’s not that no one said he was foolish, but since his sister raised him, he couldn’t bear to send her to a mental institution.

Huo Jiayuan greeted Gui Kairong and then looked at Gui Kailan: ”Sister Kailan, do you remember me?”

Gui Kailan stared at Huo Jiayuan for quite a while, then gently shook her head and said: ”I don’t remember.”

Huo Jiayuan wasn’t disappointed, understanding that it had been many years since they last met, and Gui Kailan would occasionally relapse, making it hard for her to remember things: ”I’m little Yuanyuan, the little Yuanyuan from the Huo family, the one who was pushed into the lake by the dog. You even gave me your best snacks. Do you remember now?”
