Rebirth: The Courtyard Bride Is Cool and Radiant

Chapter 621: Chapter 621: I Can’t Rest Assured Without Seeing Them

Chapter 621

Seeing everyone had arrived, Elder Master Ye signaled for his eldest son to refill his cup of tea, then he began to speak: ”I called everyone here because there’s something I need to discuss with you all.”

As he spoke, he fixed his gaze on his nephew Ye Bingkun and his niece-in-law Zhang Baoxiang, taking a deep breath before he continued: ”I just received a call from Wenhui. Zhang Wenjuan got herself into trouble at Hua’an Farm Reclamation and has been sent to a farm a hundred miles away from Liji City.”

As soon as he finished speaking, Zhang Baoxiang stood up abruptly: ”What? Uncle, what exactly happened?”

Elder Master Ye frowned and said: ”Previously, she was involved in tricking Wenhui into going up the mountain where an accident happened. I didn’t call everyone together then out of respect for you, but this time she went too far. She failed to slander Yunyi’s fiancé, then paid someone to try to harm Yunyi, but ended up harming herself instead.”

Then he recounted the details of what had happened: ”That’s the whole story.”

He then looked at Ye Bingkun and his wife: ”If you have any doubts, feel free to ask around. Zhang Wenjuan has lived with the Ye Family for seventeen years, and no one in my household has wronged her. When the incident came to light back then, not only did she feel no remorse, but she also plotted to harm my two granddaughters. Her intentions are truly despicable.

Remember this: from now on, my side of the family has no bonds whatsoever with Zhang Wenjuan. Please convey this to the Zhang Family and ask them to keep their family members in check.”

The expressions on Second Elder Master Ye and his son were full of guilt upon hearing this. They were well aware that Zhang Wenjuan had not only brought this upon herself, sending her to the farm but also succeeded in creating a rift between the two sides of the Ye family.

This was the first time their older brother/uncle had spoken to them in this manner, and although they knew he wouldn’t hold them accountable for this, Zhang Wenjuan’s actions had become a thorn in the heart of both families, something that could never be undone.

Zhang Baoxiang was now furious with Zhang Wenjuan for her lack of self-control, doing things that harmed herself, others, and her family. She wished she could go over and give her a piece of her mind.

She was never very popular in the Ye Family, and now with this happening, life would become even more difficult. Why couldn’t that damn girl just behave?

Thinking of how her own brother and sister-in-law would react when they found out about this added to her frustration. Truly, she felt like she was paying off some karmic debt from a past life.

At that moment, Xia Dongxue was trembling with anger: ”Dad, did Wenhui say if Yunyi was okay? Was she scared or hurt?”

Ye Bingyu’s wife, seeing her like this, pulled her into her arms: ”Dongxue, don’t worry.”

Elder Master Ye, seeing his daughter-in-law’s face turn pale, quickly said: ”Yunyi is fine. When she lived with her adoptive parents at the military compound, she learned some martial arts, so she’s capable of defending herself.”

Shi Jingfang came over then, reassuring her: ”Remember, I told you before that Yunyi knows martial arts. Director Gu even praised her skills during the filming.”

Only then did Xia Dongxue feel somewhat reassured, and she looked up at her husband: ”Could you buy the tickets later on? I feel like I need to see for myself, I won’t be at ease until I do.”

Ye Bingyu nodded: ”Sure, coincidentally work isn’t too busy these days, I’ll take some leave and go with you.”

Sitting quietly in a corner, Ye Wenyue had an awful look on her face, cursing Zhang Wenjuan a thousand times over in her heart: How could she be so thick-headed? Benefiting as she was, instead of lying low, she tried to harm others. What an idiot.

Her own self-destruction was one thing, but wasn’t she harming others too?
