Rebirth: The Courtyard Bride Is Cool and Radiant

Chapter 607: Chapter 607: Discovery of the Tunnel

The two of them employed their Qinggong and moved towards the direction of their destination.

After descending the cliff, they dared not use Qinggong again. Huo Jingrui held Yunyi’s hand and quickly headed towards the location where their allies were ambushed.

Upon reaching the place, Huo Jingrui first sent Yunyi back up into a tree. However, to avoid drawing attention, it was done by lifting her up.

Only after seeing Yunyi seated securely did Huo Jingrui leave.

Huo Jingrui had not been gone long before some people headed down the mountain. Yunyi knew they must be urgently delivering messages to various places.

The ones guarding here also split, with over half preparing to follow Huo Jingrui to the rear of the mountain to stake out.

After all, those people would reach Elm Ridge at midnight, which meant they would definitely emerge from the cave behind. From there, after walking a thousand meters forward, they could reach Elm Ridge, below which was a winding mountain road.

Of course, Yunyi intended to go with Huo Jingrui.

However, heading in that direction would not be easy, as the two of them, proficient in Qinggong, could leverage the rock outcrops and vegetation to leap to the cliff top.

They now had to walk a distance forward before climbing up from there, naturally requiring more time.

Upon reaching the spot, Huo Jingrui was the first to climb up with ropes, aiming to save time since taking a detour would consume even more time.

Yet climbing such a high cliff, although it saved time, also carried high risks. To ensure everyone’s safety, he had to take the lead.

Once Huo Jingrui reached the cliff, several comrades from the armed forces ascended one by one, however, each took a different amount of time.

Initially, everyone was apprehensive when Yunyi followed along, as this was no joking matter; though skilled, one wrong move while climbing the cliff could be fatal.

However, when it was Yunyi’s turn, everyone was taken aback by how she ascended with even more agility than those before her.

In nearly two hours, everyone reached the top of the cliff.

Without delay to let the comrades coming up from behind rest, they rushed towards their destination, as ample time was needed to find cover.

They finally reached the rear exit before evening, and everyone quickly found hiding spots, waiting for those people to come out.

They were not to take action immediately but intended to tail them all the way to Elm Ridge, ensuring they merge with the responding team, and then execute the capture plan in conjunction with the comrades ambushing at Elm Ridge.

Meanwhile, another group of police officers, following the clues provided by Huo Jingrui, indeed discovered an underground tunnel beneath the residence of Lun Huaijing and Zhong Liyuan.

The tunnel led directly to a slope by the road heading to the Agricultural Reclamation Group, with the entrance ingeniously concealed, such that passersby noticed nothing.

This finally explained how Zhong Liyuan managed to abduct someone under the police’s surveillance.

At the same time, Guo Aibing was also handcuffed by the police.

Tao Yuran could hardly believe that Guo Aibing, who went to the countryside with them and worked alongside him daily, would harm Lun Huaijing. Filled with simmering anger, he approached and asked, ”Why?”

Guo Aibing burst into laughter, ”You’re asking me why?”

Grinding his teeth, Tao Yuran said, ”Lun Huaijing regarded you as a brother, always thinking to share with you anything good, yet you commit such a despicable act. How could you betray him?”

Guo Aibing’s face turned pale. He had wanted to back out earlier, but it was too late.

Ever since he had a skin-to-skin relationship with Zhong Liyuan, there was no turning back. He knew he was doomed.
