Rebirth: The Courtyard Bride Is Cool and Radiant

Chapter 492: Chapter 492 Plans

Yunyi folded the cashmere sweater and spoke slowly, ”Having received so many things from your mother, I naturally need to reciprocate. It wouldn’t be appropriate to show up empty-handed, so I definitely need to find time to prepare.”

Huo Jingrui understood. ”I’ve already prepared everything, so you don’t need to worry,” he said.

But Yunyi disagreed. ”Since they’re your family, gifts should be prepared with care,” she said.

Yunyi had already inquired about Huo Jingrui’s family and had plans in mind, so she wasn’t in a rush. ”If you’re in a hurry,” she said, ”then arrange it for tomorrow night.”

But when she said this, Huo Jingrui looked worried. ”I don’t want you to stay up late,” he said. ”Will there be enough time?”

He knew Yunyi and probably guessed what she was planning. ”Do you need me to help prepare anything?” he asked.

Yunyi shook her head and leaned close to his ear. ”There are fabrics in the dimensional storehouse, and there’s a sewing machine in the dimension too. Don’t worry, it will be done quickly,” she whispered.

Huo Jingrui was somewhat touched. ”You’re working hard, Yi’er,” he said.

Yunyi leaned into his embrace. ”Since you know I’m working hard, I’ll be watching your performance in the future,” she said.

Huo Jingrui kissed her on the cheek. ”As you command,” he said.

Once that was settled, Huo Jingrui brought up the Chu family members. ”I’ve already spoken to the screw factory. It won’t be long before they’re allocated houses,” he said.

Upon hearing about the houses, Yunyi voiced her thoughts. ”Jingrui,” she began, ”ever since the Chu Family parents adopted the original host, both they and Grandpa Chu were genuinely good to her. Yet the Chu Family’s assets have ended up with me, an outsider. Here’s what I’ve been thinking: if Grandpa Chu-second turns out to be a decent man, I plan to transfer this house to them in the future. After all, neither the original host nor I carry Chu Family blood. If the Chu Family’s assets go to Grandpa Chu-second, I believe Grandpa Chu, in the afterlife, would be comforted. That way, I can also be at peace with myself. Besides, apart from this house, I still have the one left by the original host’s adoptive mother. I can’t be too selfish.”

Huo Jingrui naturally offered his unconditional support. ”Okay, I’ll listen to you, Yi’er. As long as you’re happy, that’s all that matters. I have two more courtyard houses registered under my name; I’ll transfer them to you later,” he said.

Yunyi smiled. ”You know I’m not short of houses. I already have several,” she said.

Remembering the news she’d heard in the car earlier that day, her smile faded. ”Oh, there’s one more thing I need you to help me look into,” she said.

Huo Jingrui looked down at her. ”What is it? Tell me,” he said.

Yunyi looked up at Huo Jingrui. ”Today on the bus, I overheard people talking about the situation in Tang City. After the disaster, many orphans need to be resettled. I have the money left by Grandpa Chu and the Chu Family parents. Originally, I was thinking of lending it out for a few years when the Reform and Opening Up policy begins. Afterwards, when I have more money, I would donate it in their names to accumulate merit for them. But then I received quite a lot from the Shen Family. With those assets, I won’t lack startup capital in the future. Now is Tang City’s most difficult time. I’m thinking of donating all the money left by Grandpa Chu and the Chu Family parents in their names. This would also fulfill a wish of mine.”

She believed in accumulating merit. After all, she had transmigrated through several lifetimes, and the growth of her dimension was also related to the power of merit. Therefore, she especially wanted to do something for Grandpa Chu and her Chu adoptive parents to fulfill this wish.

Huo Jingrui reached out and pulled her into his embrace. His Yi’er is always so kind, he thought. ”Alright,” he said, ”leave this to me.”

Since his little girl wanted this, he would naturally see it through.

Afterwards, neither of them spoke again, just quietly leaning against each other.
