Reborn as an Extra

Chapter 425: Link and Rio, An Unbeatable Combo... Part-1.

ʼBut still, whatʼs going on with this place... Isnʼt Alverto still an S-ranker? How does he have a necromancer subordinate that can control peak S-rank undead?ʼ

There are only two possible ways for a necromancer to control a Peak S-rank undead: either they possess the legendary skill ʼSoul Resonanceʼ, which is the pinnacle skill for

necromancers.

Or the necromancer should be an SS-ranker.

It is common knowledge that necromancers canʼt control undead of the same level or of a stronger realm.

At most, an ordinary peak S rank necromancer can only control early-stage S rank undead, not peak S rank ones; such a thing is only possible with the legendary skill ʼSoul Resonanceʼ.

ʼSoul Resonanceʼ is the equivalent of ʼSword Intentʼ for Necromancers; itʼs the ability to see, touch, control, and talk to ʼsoulsʼ no matter how weak or strong they are.

Although a necromancer can have stronger summons than them, if they have ʼSoul Resonanceʼ, they can convince the soul of the dead and can even make them friends so as to get powerful subordinates.

Itʼs the ability to resonate with the souls of the dead; thus, itʼs called soul resonance.

ʼBut there was no one in the entire novel who had this skill... and Alverto himself doesnʼt have any legendary skill either, so his subordinates shouldnʼt have them too...ʼ

ʼPerhaps the problem lies with this ʼSpire of Ascensionʼ itself after all...ʼ

Rio glanced at the walls nearby, and his intuition told him that something was definitely very odd with this place.

ʼIs it possible to ʼcontrolʼ the spire of ascension?... if itʼs possible, then I can assume that the insides of the spire of ascension are like a fixed territory marked by an SS-ranking world authority...ʼ

Rio has seen Fenix use his world authority to make a certain fixed area completely under his control.

ʼIf this spire of ascension is being controlled by Alverto and its functioning methods are similar to a territory-type world authority similar to Fenixʼs, then everything will make sense...ʼ

Inside this fixed territory, Alverto and his subordinates will get to enjoy an immense power boost, and they could gain a lot of varied power.

ʼIn fact, in this kind of place, the rules and the ʼlawsʼ of the world will be inclined in Alvertoʼs favor... I can kind of understand why this place is called the ʼspire of ascensionʼ now...ʼ

ʼItʼs almost as if all the laws of the world are forcefully being suppressed and used like stairs to ascend higher...ʼ

*Tremble**Crack!*

Just when Rio was busy thinking about all the things, the floor and the walls started to tremble once again.

Rio glanced towards the ceiling. The sparks of sword intent kept fluctuating around his body from time to time as a look of confusion appeared on his face.

ʼThe flow of mana... is bending?... Whatʼs going on... Itʼs as if something sucking all the mana inside the spire of ascension all at once... What exactly is going on in the upper floors...ʼ

Neo forcefully ascended Liamʼs body to higher levels by sucking up immense amounts of mana from the surroundings, and its effects were felt by everyone present in all of the floor of the spire of ascension in that moment.

ʼFrom those familiar shockwave-type attacks, I am quite sure that Linkʼs father is the one fighting up there... But who is he fighting? Is there really someone who can actually keep up with him for so long?ʼ

ʼThe fightʼs been going on for more than an hour, I think... Itʼs really surprising anyone can keep fighting with him for so long...ʼ

How did Fade kill Ashtel Rex in the original novel if heʼs so strong?

The answer is so simple that itʼs not even worth mentioning: Ashtel Rex was ʼoff-screenedʼ. Indeed! The legendary technique that all authors use when a character is too powerful for them to handle, so they just ʼoff-screenʼ them and call it a day!

The plot armor was so thought that it was unbelievable! (GO! GO! power of friendship and love!!)

ʼWell, letʼs keep moving forward; heʼs the last person I should be worried about right now... I doubt even a world-destroying calamity will be enough to put a scratch on him...ʼ

Rio just shook his head and sighed to himself.

ʼI kind of envy Link in this matter...ʼ

Rio put his hand on his head and thought to himself,

ʼHmm... how does it feel to get patted on the head by your father? I wonder... I guess I was born with the curse to never get that head pat...ʼ

*Thump!* *Bam!*

Just when Rio was walking through a giant hall, thinking various things in his mind, the ceiling suddenly collapsed, and several uninvited enemies showed up again.

Rio turned back and glanced at the seven enemies that suddenly showed up out of nowhere, and his eyes narrowed in an instant.

ʼPeak S rankers.... Seven Peak S-rankers... This isnʼt good.ʼ

...

In the lower floor.

*BOOOM!*

Linkʼs fist collided with the fist of the giant demon, and a massive shockwave spread in all

directions!

”HAHAHAH, for a puny human, you are quite strong, arenʼt you!!”

Link smirked at the demonʼs words and replied in a smug tone,

”Well, I have the upper hand in technique!”

[Divine Dragon Arts: Coiling Dragon: Repelling Rotation!]

Link twisted his fist to the right and caused the giant demon to lose balance as its whole body through his arm that was punchi Link before.

got twisted to the

*BOOOM!*

The giant demon was sent flying while rotating like a wheel in mid-air.

ʼI only recently learned this one, but itʼs quite useful against opponents that lack technique

and rely solely on brute strength...ʼ

Thinking about it, Link felt a bit awkward.

ʼThis sh*t isnʼt going to work on Rio though; I doubt he will even get hit by the punch... My arm will get severed before I can unleash it...ʼ

*BOOOM!*

The demon got up again and rushed towards Link with momentum to attack him again.

But before he could even reach Link, Link reached him first.

”You are quite slow, actually, or may no... I have become so used to fighting at fast speed that

you seem slow to me...”

*BOOM*

Link grabbed the giantʼs neck with one arm and forcefully hit the head of the giant on the ground; the broken debris from the cracked floor flew everywhere as the strong shockwave

passed by.

ʼOh, talking about slow... I think I should fight some other people too; fighting with Rio all the time makes me feel miserable; barely any of my punches ever hit him...ʼ

While thinking about random things in his mind, Link pressed the giantʼs face on the ground, then stomped the ground to run forward. He dragged the giant with him and rubbed the other

partyʼs face all over the ground.

[Link Style Martial Art: Foul Play: Serious Face Washing!]

”AAAAAAHHHHHHH ITʼS HOOOOOTTTTTT!!!!!”

Link rubbed the demonʼs face all over the ground and dragged him so much that the friction between the face and ground became too high, and the other partyʼs face literally started to

burn and melt!

ʼBy the way... I wonder whatʼs Riya doing right now; sheʼs going to be so angry at me when she finds out that I am wandering around everywhere without wearing the engagement ring...ʼ ʼWorst case scenario... she will go and tell Father about it... then he will beat the sh*t out of me

for angering her... ugh!ʼ

”AAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!! ITʼS HOOOOTTTTTT AHHHHHHHH!!!”

Itʼs not that Link was ignoring the giant demonʼs wails on purpose; itʼs just that he was so busy thinking about his girlfriend that he completely forgot that he was even dragging a gigantic demon around everywhere!

”АННННННН-”

”Will you shut up for a while!? Canʼt you see I am in the middle of thinking about what I

should write in my final will!!! My fatherʼs gonna kill me for sure!!”

[Link Style Martial Art: Foul Play: Basketball Throw!!]

Link grabbed the other partyʼs hair and thew that giant body weighing several tons with one

arm so easily as if he were throwing a basketball!

*BOOOM!!*

The flying body of the giant broke the sound barrier in an instant, and a loud sonic boom

resounded throughout the area!

The gaint demonʼs head hit the wall and burst apart like a balloon instantly! Blood splattered

all over the ground and walls, making the scene look extremely horrible.

But Link didnʼt give a single sh*t about all that.

ʼI can already imagine Rio fanning the flames from the sidelines and saying, ʼI saw Link throw

away the ring with my own eyes!! Kill him!! Burn him at the stake!!ʼ...ʼ

ʼAh, I should really start writing my final will after all...ʼ

*CRACK!!!**BOOOM!*

Just when Link was thinking what to write in his final will, the ground and walls trembled

again, and the mana in the area suddenly became thin.

The floor below Linkʼs feet cracked and collapsed in an instant, and as he was busy thinking in

his mind, he was a bit late to react so fell down instantly!

By the time he realized that he was falling, a huge crack had appeared in the floor, and a massive beam of condensed time elementals created an even deeper hole in the floor. ”Just how many floors are in this place!? How is this place so massive!? Where the f*ck am I!?”

Just when Link was getting confused, a dark shadow came flying down from the collapsing ceiling above and stopped right beside him in the air.

”I brought company for your entertainment; no need to shout like that; it hurts my ear...”

It was none other than Rio!

The floor cracked an Rio heard Linkʼs annoyingly loud voice from far above, so he came down.

The seven S rankers also followed right behind him.
