“Uh… How do you train?”

Lin Yi looked at Wang Ting as if she was retarded.

“Don’t worry about how 1 train. I’ll beat you to death today!”

“Aiya, stop fooling around.” Li Sijin stomped her feet anxiously.

They still had work to do later. Why were they fighting?!

Seriously!

“Don’t get involved.” Wang Ting said, “I was arrested by the traffic police yesterday. It’s all his fault!”

“Why aren’t you first blaming yourself, stupid?”

“Alright, stop talking.” Li Sijin looked at Lin Yi and said.

“She really did learn Taekwondo. I’m not lying to you. Moreover, when she was in university, she was the captain of our school’s Taekwondo team. Even the boys in school couldn’t defeat her. Don’t try to fight her.”

“If you’re a man, don’t run. Otherwise, 1’11 look down on you!” Wang Ting used provocation, afraid that Lin Yi would back down after hearing that.

“Come, come, come. 1’11 just stand here and not move. Let me see what level you’re at.”

Wang Ting took a step forward and rushed in front of Lin Yi. She grabbed his arm and flipped over!

Initially, she thought that this would be a perfect shoulder throw, but she did not expect the other party to not move at all!

Huh?

Wang Ting was stunned. Her shoulder throw had always been successful. Why was it failing now?

Lin Yi couldn’t help but laugh. Even Liang Ruoxu couldn’t do anything to him, let alone her.

Wang Ting didn’t believe it. She grabbed Lin Yi’s arm and tried again, but he still didn’t move.

Her shoulder throw had no effect.

“With your level, don’t tell others that you’ve practiced Taekwondo. You might as well have stayed home and just lazed about.”

“Lazed about… Ah!”

Caught off guard, Wang Ting felt her arm tighten before her body went out of control!

Whoosh!

Lin Yi didn’t show any mercy and threw Wang Ting over his shoulder.

She fell heavily on the ground and grimaced in pain.

“F*ck, my *ss!”

Li Shijin’s beautiful eyes widened. This was the first time she had seen Tingting lost to someone else.

Lin Yi kicked Wang Ting’s butt. “Get lost. Don’t delay our work.”

“You, how dare you kick my butt?!”

“It’s so flat. 1 feel uncomfortable kicking you,” Lin Yi said.

“Taekwondo is something you can just practice casually. If you practice too much, you might end up androgynous, with both your front and back ending up flat. You should learn more from your girlfriends.”

Wang Ting subconsciously looked at Li Sijin and then at herself. She felt that she had lost all direction in life.

“Alright, Tingting, get up.”

Li Sijin went over to help her up and dusted her off.

“Let’s just forget about what happened yesterday. Don’t argue anymore. We have something on in the afternoon and can’t accompany you. Kist go back.”

“Well, 1 have nothing to do when 1 go back. In any case, the nature of your work is free and easy. I’ll go with you to take a look.” Wang Ting said.

“Coincidentally, 1 bought some things for Uncle and Auntie. I’ll send them over later.”

“How can you do this? You keep buying things for us.”

“It’s not much money. Why are you worrying so much?” Wang Ting said, “Let’s go now.”

Li Sijin did not continue this topic. “We’re going to the village below. Your car isn’t really built for this kind of task. Take our car.”

“Willing Hongguang? This is too lousy. You have to drive that 570,” Wang Ting said in disdain.

“You don’t deserve my 570.”

“Get lost!” Wang Ting said, “When I come back, I’ll smash your car window!”

“If you dare to f*cking smash it, 1’11 beat the shit out of you.”

“You!”

“Stop, stop, stop. Stop arguing. Let’s go. It’s already past one o’clock. We still have important things to do.”

With Li Sijin pulling them, the three of them got into the mini car.

“Let’s go to Qingyan Town. It’s the closest to the county,” Li Sijin said.

“Let’s go.”

Wang Ting also knew that she couldn’t beat Lin Yi, so she didn’t dare to act smug anymore. Her butt was still hurting.

Because there were things in her car meant for Li Sijin’s parents, before they left, they moved all the things in her BMW into the Willing Hongguang and drove towards Qingyan Town.

Twenty minutes later, the three of them arrived at Qingyan Town.

Lin Yi looked around and realized that this place was already on par with Li Chuhan’s hometown, Beiqiao Town.

“Are you sure this is the town? Why do 1 feel…” Wang Ting said.

“Doesn’t it feel poor?” Li Sijin asked helplessly.

“It’s not just poor. It’s so poor that it’s beyond my imagination.”

“The four towns under Dongsan County are all like this.” Li Sijin said,

“The situation in the villages below is even worse. The households in the fields have just enough for subsistence for a year, with virtually no surplus.”

“What if someone gets sick?” Wang Ting raised her doubts.

“That’s the problem.” Li Sijin said,

“Once you get sick, you’ll meet a whole host of issues. If your head hurts and you feel hot, take some painkillers. If it’s a serious illness, you might as well give up.”

Li Sijin took a deep breath. “My grandfather was like this back then. After staying in the ICU for a day, he emptied the family’s savings.”

“Is that why you gave up the chance to go to a foreign company after graduating from university and came back to become a village official to help your hometown escape poverty?”

“That’s right.” Li Sijin combed her hair and said,

“Don’t they talk about it online? We study hard not to escape our impoverished hometown but to help our hometown escape poverty. That’s what 1 believe.”

“But you can’t get rid of it at all.” Wang Ting pursed her lips and said.

“Take care of yourself first. You’re not young anymore and don’t even have a partner. I’ll bring you out to see the world and introduce you to a boyfriend.”

“No, no, no. I’m not thinking about that now,” Li Sijin said with a red face.

Lin Yi did not join in their conversation. Instead, he got out of the car to take a look around.

The town was lifeless and desolate. It complemented the broken Willing that he drove.

In terms of development alone, it was still a certain distance away from Beiqiao Town.

The people who walked the streets were all old people and children. The young people had all left.

After observing for a while, Lin Yi returned to the car and continued driving, preparing to go to the village below to take a look.

Under Qingyan Town was a place called Baifeng Village.

Lin Yi didn’t drive into the village. Instead, he stopped by the roadside.

The village had around forty-something households, and among them, there were over a dozen with houses that have semi-collapsed, clearly indicating that no one was living there anymore

The remaining houses were straw huts. There was only one red brick house that was slightly dilapidated.

Wang Ting lit a cigarette and pursed her lips without saying anything.

Lin Yi turned around and walked towards the village across from the farmhouse.

The farmland of the farmhouse was not doing well; at the very least, the crops were a third shorter than those in the fields of Happiness Village.

Lin Yi grabbed a handful of dirt from the ground and rubbed it on his hands. It was dry and hard.

He licked it with his tongue, and there was a faint smell of alkali.

It was too alkaline. No wonder the crops could not grow tall. It would be strange if there was ever a bumper harvest..
