“I found a new job recently. I’m going to Yuhang City to help alleviate poverty. I’ll be leaving soon. I might not have much time to return here, so 1 came here to see you before I leave.”

“You’re going to Yuhang City to help the poor?”

Li Chuhan muttered, “Are you talking about Dongsan County?”

“You know that place?”

“Before you came last year, the hospital organized a medical trip to the countryside and visited several places. I myself didn’t go to Dongsan County. However, I heard from my colleagues from other departments that the conditions in Dongsan County are truly poor. The few towns there are similar to Beiqiao Town. You have to be mentally prepared,” Li Chuhan said.

“Don’t worry. I’ve already roughly understood the situation and know what it’s like.”

“Are you also investing in road construction this time?”

“It’s not what you think,” Lin Yi said.

“I’m the deputy director of the Office of Poverty Alleviation. This time, I won’t be providing targeted assistance. I’ll be providing a fundamental solution to this problem.”

“Oh?”

Li Chuhan looked at Lin Yi for a long time with her big, beautiful eyes.

“But this isn’t something you should be doing; it’s not an easy task.”

“I know that, but I just want to take on a challenging task. Simply giving money doesn’t solve the fundamental problems.”

“What you’re saying makes sense.” Li Chuhan glanced at her watch, “Will you be staying here for lunch?”

“I won’t have lunch here; I have plans to meet someone at noon. You two go ahead and have lunch.”

“Huh? Okay.”

“When I’m not busy, can I visit you?”

“What are you talking about? Why not?”

Li Chuhan smiled like a swaying lily.

“Didn’t you have an appointment at noon? It takes two hours to drive from here to Yuhang City. Go now. Don’t dilly-dally any longer.”

Lin Yi nodded and spread his arms. “Aren’t you going to give me a hug before I leave?”

Li Chuhan was embarrassed. She bit her lip and hugged Lin Yi tightly. Then, she took the initiative to kiss him.

She seemed to lose herself in the moment.

“Alright, alright…”

Half a minute later, Li Chuhan broke free from Lin Yi’s embrace, her delicate face covered in red clouds.

“This is a hospital. You can’t mess around…”

Li Chuhan’s voice was very soft. As he tidied up his underwear, he spoke in a barely audible voice.

Lin Yi chuckled. “Then let’s stop here today.”

“Well…”

Li Chuhan nodded quietly. “1’11 see you off.”

The two of them walked out of the hospital together. Lin Yi got into the car, and Li Chuhan waved at him from under the shade of the tree, reminding Lin Yi to take care of his body.

He looked at the woman in the rearview mirror who refused to leave for a long time.

Lin Yi smiled knowingly, feeling touched.

Ring ring ring!

Not long after he drove out, Lin Yi’s phone rang. It was Sun Jian.

“Boss, when are you arriving? I’m not in the mood to work anymore.”

“I’m not going to bring you to the hot springs. Why are you so excited?”

“I’ve been out and about for so many years. After graduation, we haven’t seen each other. I’ve missed you too,” Sun Jian said.

“I remember, two years ago when I went to Yanjing, 1 lost my wallet as soon as I got off the train. You transferred 700 yuan to me, and you never asked for it back. I remember all these things,” he added.

“Just remember it in your heart.” Lin Yi smiled.

“I just left. I’ll be there in about two hours.”

“I’ll send you the address of our company. Come over to see me there, and then we can go for some barbecue. The taste of the BBQis amazing.”

“Sure.”

“Wait for me at the office.”

After hanging up, Lin Yi stepped on the accelerator and drove towards Yuhang City.

Yuhang City Rainforest Technology Co., Ltd.

“Old Sun, I see that you’ve been restless all morning. Are you in a bad mood after being dumped? Haha…”

The person who spoke was wearing a pair of denim shorts and a pair of fashionable black and red AJis. There was also a string of silver accessories around his neck. The overall combination fit him quite well, making up for his lack of looks.

The man’s name was Li Qingyuan. He was a major shareholder of this company and held about 70% of the shares. The remaining three people, including Sun Jian, accounted for the remaining 30%.

Li Qingyuan’s family was quite famous in Yuhang City. In order to start his business, Li Qingyuan borrowed eight million yuan from his family. He was considered to have made a name for himself.

“I don’t even have a girlfriend. Why would I fall in love?”

“Then what are you doing here? Have you thought of the operation plan?”

“It’s half done. In any case, there’s no hurry. We’ll talk about it tomorrow.”

“This isn’t like you. Aren’t you always saying that you’re a hardworking person? Why are you being so lazy now?”

The person who spoke was slightly plump. He was about 1.7 meters tall and had a buzz cut. There were also tattoos on his arms.

The man’s name was Liu Guangming, and he was the company’s technical manager.

“Our dormitory head is visiting today. It’s been a few years since we last met after graduation. I’m preparing to go for a meal with him later.”

“Do you have to act like this though? Look at how excited you are. 1 thought you were going to pick up a chick. It turns out that you’re roommates,” Liu Guangming said.

“That’s right.” Li Qingyuan laughed and said.

“Let’s make it clear first. If a girl was visiting, 1 would have given you three days off. But if it’s just a roommate, you won’t get this treatment. Haha…”

“Stop acting cool. When my boss comes, you’ll be scared to death,” Sun Jian said as he lit a cigarette.

“Scared to death?” Li Qingyuan said.

“Does your boss have three heads and six arms? Can he scare us to death?”

“Let me tell you, my boss is very rich. He lives in a villa worth more than a billion yuan and drives Rolls-Royces and supercars. Moreover, he has his own dock. It’s not something trash like you can compare to.”

When Zhang Song went to Zhonghai, Lin Yi’s Lingyun Group was still under construction, so he didn’t know about his company. He only knew that Lin Yi owned a dock.

Lin Yi didn’t reveal anything about Lingyun Group back then. They were all classmates, so there was no need to say so much. It would just seem like he was showing off.

“What the f*ck? Is this for real? Is he that rich?”

Both of them exclaimed at the same time.

Not to mention how much money he earned in a year, just that house alone could crush their Li family.

“Aren’t you just bragging?” Liu Guangming said.

“You’ve never told me that before.”

“You don’t have to believe me.” Sun Jian said pretentiously.

“My other roommate went to Zhonghai before. He saw it with his own eyes. It can’t be faked.”

“If your dorm leader is so awesome, you should go join him. It’s definitely better than staying here,” Li Qingyuan said.

“Well, that’s true, but back in school, we had a good relationship. If we start involving money, it might change the dynamics of our friendship.” Sun Jian replied.

“Besides, I’m doing okay now. I don’t have to worry about food or clothes. There’s no need for all that.”

“You’re right.” Li Qingyuan’s eyes darted around as he smelled a business opportunity.

“What is your dormitory boss doing in Yuhang City? Is he here to discuss a project?”
