“I’m just making an analogy. In short, under your leadership, the business of the Peninsula Hotel is only going upward.”

“Stop flattering me.”

Lin Yi tidied up his clothes. “You go ahead. I’ll head up and check things out.”

“I’ll see you out.”

“No need. Go ahead.”

After a brief chat with Wang Tianlong, Lin Yi took the elevator to the second floor. He quickly realized that there were more people here than on the first floor.

The vendors and reporters who came to report on the event filled the banquet hall.

Lin Yi looked at the stage and saw that Yan Ci was wearing a black knee-length dress. In order to accentuate her legs, she even wore flesh-colored stockings. Her long hair had also been carefully styled. She had put in a lot of effort for this investment meeting.

After tidying his clothes, Lin Yi quietly walked over.

However, when he passed by the stage, Lin Yi paused. Coincidentally, at this moment, Yan Ci, who was busy, also saw Lin Yi.

The two of them did not speak. Just a glance, and they immediately understood each other.

Lin Yi walked to the corner of the venue and found a seat.

Yan Ci didn’t need to help with today’s matter. He just had to sit down and watch.

Looking at the people coming and going, Lin Yi felt that this might be a path to development.

He would invest some money into Yan Ci’s small company and slowly help her develop. In the future, she would have more influence in the media industry.

Because the investment fair had not started yet, there were many people coming and going, creating a chaotic and bustling atmosphere.

There were two people sitting in the fifth row of the event hall.

One of them was Su Chang, whom Lin Yi had met yesterday. Lin Yi also knew the other one.

It was Zhang Xu, the host who had been following Yan Ci and was beaten up by Lin Yi.

Although Zhang Xu’s was not a good person, he had a very good eye for talent.

He would work with whoever had talent.

If not for this incident, Yan Ci would have been the deputy director.

Now that Su Chang had appeared out of nowhere, he had followed Su Chang around. This kind of insight in the workplace was also a merit in some aspects.

However, at this moment, both of them were wearing masks that covered most of their faces.

In such a crowded place, if they hadn’t bumped into each other by chance, they probably wouldn’t have recognized each other.

“Director Su, look at the situation at the scene. She seems to have found a lot of people. It’s really possible that she came prepared,” Zhang Xu whispered.

“It’s useless to have so many people. The only thing that matters is whether these people are willing to invest.” Su Chang said.

“Just like the Cheng Guanliang I made an appointment with yesterday. He offered 110 million yuan. That’s what you call a real rich person.”

Zhang Xu looked around. “But there are quite a number of people here. Let’s see how much they can gather.”

“I guess it’ll only amount to some tens of millions.” Su Chang said.

“July and August are the prime time for variety shows, with more than twenty programs waiting for sponsorship approvals. They are all competing for big title sponsors, and only smaller companies are left for them, which can’t offer much money.”

“Director Su has a point.”

After working in the television station for so many years, Zhang Xu knew the insider’s tricks very well.

Usually, the sponsors of variety shows were almost all consumer products. Food and cosmetics were the mainstream sponsors.

However, in Huaxia, many famous food and cosmetics companies had already sponsored other shows.

Therefore, there were not many willing sponsors left. It was impossible for them to find a big sponsor to support them.

“Remember this when the bidding starts later. I want to see how much she can get.”

“I think 50 million is the upper limit.” Zhang Xu said.

“On the other hand, this show of hers needs at least 100 to 150 million yuan to be completed. So, whether she can raise enough will really depend on her luck.”

Facing Yan Ci again, Zhang Xu felt as if he was looking at a stranger.

It was as if they did not know each other at all.

“That lousy show of hers only depicts a slow life in the countryside. She really doesn’t understand the market.” Su Chang said.

“What young person nowadays would like this sort of thing? Don’t tell me they’re going to watch you raise pigs and vegetables?”

“She has always been an idealistic person, which is why the station head rejected her proposal back then.”

“Because she thinks too highly of herself,” Su Chang said.

“She thinks that she can become popular just because she has some connections and ability. In reality, she knows nothing about the market and takes everything for granted. Her only notable work involved a collaboration with multiple other countries. She lacks self-awareness.”

“Miss Su is right.” Zhang Xu smiled and agreed.

“Actually, she was okay in the past, but ever since she finished filming Man vs. Wild, she has indeed become a little untolerable. She does things her own way. Other than the station head, she doesn’t care about anyone else.”

“Hehe… Now’s our chance.”

Su Chang sneered. “After this incident, she’ll be discredited in the industry!”

“Why are you sitting here? I’ve been looking for you for a long time.”

Yan Ci finished his work and stood in front of Lin Yi.

“Is everything ready?”

“It’s about time. Leave the rest to the people below.”

Yan Ci combed her hair and looked at the front row.

“Don’t sit here. I’ll prepare a place for you in front.”

“No, it doesn’t matter where I sit. I don’t want to be in the limelight. I’ll just look at you from here.” Lin Yi said.

“I think there are a lot of people here today. I think the effect will be good.”

“Don’t remind me.”

Yan Ci, who was originally in high spirits, instantly lost her confidence.

“Although there are many people, the quality of the guests are not high. I don’t think they will invest much.”

“I don’t agree.”

“The summer season is a prime time for all variety shows, and all the top shows and resources from different channels will be vying for attention. The cake is only so big, and there won’t be enough for everyone,” Yan Ci explained. “Moreover, other shows have had successful experiences before, while my new self-produced program lacks a track record, so everything will have to start from scratch. It’s undoubtedly a bit more challenging.”

“Don’t be so pessimistic. The battle hasn’t even started yet. Why are you admitting defeat?”

“Of course I’m not. With you supporting me, what’s there to be afraid of?” Yan Ci said.

“Even if there are no sponsors, I’m not afraid. The real show of ability will be reflected in the viewership ratings. We’ll see the truth when the time comes.” “That’s right. Don’t think too much. Just do it.”

“What are you doing here?!”

As the two of them were talking, a sharp voice came from behind Yan Ci.

The two of them subconsciously turned around and realized that the person who spoke was a middle-aged woman.

She was wearing a red dress and carrying a Hermes bag. She looked quite fancy.

Even so, Lin Yi’s expression was one of surprise.

Wasn’t this the old lady who wanted to provide for him that day?
