For the next three days, Lin Yi’s life could be said to be relaxed and comfortable.

Unlike Tian Yan, who could only stay in the embassy, he would go out for a walk and even go to the beach to surf.

As promised, everyone waited for the summons to the United Court of Saint Francesco.

The case would be heard in three days.

After hearing this news, Lin Yi immediately called Josem.

“Any progress?”

“Someone was willing to testify that they had enough evidence to prove that you were the ones who did it. Therefore, the federal court is ready to go to trial on this case.” “Where is that person? Can I see him?” Lin Yi asked.

“I don’t think that’s going to work. We only communicate via phone. He’s not willing to show up early. If you want to see him, you’ll have to wait until the court session.”

“Alright, I understand.”

After a few simple words, Lin Yi hung up and began preparing for court.

Three days passed quickly, but Lin Yi kept a low profile. He didn’t go anywhere and instead stayed in the embassy, giving people the illusion that his personal freedom was restricted.

On the morning of the third day, Wang Hanshan and Zhao Xia took the initiative to look for Lin Yi.

“Are you sure this will work?”

“We can only try our best. We have to try. This is the only way now.”

Lin Yi didn’t hide his plan from Wang Hanshan and Zhao Xia.

But in his heart, he was also on guard.

This was because he and Shen Shuyi both felt that the person behind this must have the ability to control everything in Huaxia. Wang Hanshan and Zhao Xia did not fit this criteria.

Lin Yi was afraid that this news would spread to Huaxia, so he contacted Shen Shuyi in advance and asked her to remind Wang Hanshan and Zhao Xia not to leak anything.

Although they did not say what the consequences would be, the two of them had been in the political field for so many years and knew very well what this meant.

If the news got out, Lin Yi’s career would be over.

In a game of power, no one would give you a chance to make a mistake. A single wrong step could cause a calamity!

Therefore, the two of them kept their mouths shut and did not leak any news.

After they were done, Lin Yi and Tian Yan put on their sunglasses and masks and quietly walked out from the back door.

There, Josem had arranged for a car to bring them to the local federal courthouse.

All the procedures were very standard. The two of them were handcuffed and stayed in the waiting room until someone brought them out.

The renovation style of the courts in Meiguo was very different from that in Huaxia. There was a strong retro style, but it emphasized solemnity.

The two of them were brought to the defendant’s stand one after another. During this process, Lin Yi saw a man wearing a mask, sunglasses, and a hat on the witness stand. His entire face was covered. If it wasn’t for the wisp of black hair that hung out, you wouldn’t even be able to tell which country he was from.

At the same time, the witness also saw Lin Yi. He subconsciously adjusted his hat and mask, trying to cover himself more tightly.

However, at the same time, a smile appeared on his face. He seemed to be mocking Lin Yi.

“The evidence in our hands is enough to prove that over the past three months, the defendant, Lin Yi bought 13 types of prohibited items and shipped them to Huaxia. According to our local laws, this is a crime that demands punishment. Do you have anything else to say?”

“I want to know what evidence you have.”

“The witness has provided a copy of the entry data. Based on the Huaxia customs records, the forty-eight goods you transported back to the country were all listed here. This is the best proof.”

“But I doubt the authenticity of this record,” Lin Yi said lazily.

“Mr. Sun, are you willing to guarantee what you said?” The judge looked at the masked man and said.

“I do. I can assure you that everything I say is true. There is nothing wrong with the evidence I have given. If there is any falsehood, I am willing to take responsibility for my actions.”

Lin Yi turned his head and looked at the masked man.

His tone was firm and resolute, without any trace of doubt. It could be seen that the person standing behind him really wanted to kill Lin Yi.

“The defendant is Lin Yi, the defendant is Tian Yan. You can now defend your actions.”

“There’s no room for argument.” Lin Yi shrugged. “So, I admit to everything.”

“Me too,” Tian Yan said.

With Lin Yi by her side, Tian Yan had confidence and was not afraid at all.

“Since you’ve foregone your defense, I hereby sentence the defendant, Lin Yi, and the defendant, Tian Yan, to 28 and 16 years of imprisonment respectively for having violated the public safety of Meiguo.”

Hearing the court’s verdict, the masked man heaved a sigh of relief.

There was no better outcome than this.

The trial ended, and Lin Yi and Tian Yan were brought out.

The masked man adjusted his mask and hat and prepared to leave.

Just then, two burly police officers walked up to him.

“I’m sorry, Mr. Sun. You can’t leave yet. You need to come with us.”

“I’ve already given you all the evidence. What else do you need me to do?”

“I don’t know about that either. All we know is that we’re taking you now. If you have any questions, someone will answer them later.”

With that, the two police officers detained the masked man and immediately restricted him.

“What are you doing? I’m here to testify. Why are you arresting me? Let go of me!”

The masked man looked flustered. He did not understand why such a thing would happen. He was only here as a witness. What right did he have to arrest him?

“I hope you don’t struggle, or we’ll arrest you for assaulting a police officer.”

“I want to see my lawyer. You can’t do this to me!”

“We will give you such an opportunity, but for now, you have to cooperate. Otherwise, I won’t be so polite anymore.”

Seeing the two police officers with guns at their waists, the masked man didn’t dare to speak anymore. He was neatly brought out of the court and sent to the police car outside.

The masked man’s expression froze when he saw Lin Yi and Tian Yan in the police car!

He was already confused to begin with, but now, he was even more confused.

The two of them had already been convicted. No matter what their motives were, they shouldn’t have locked themselves in the same car as them, right?

“What a coincidence, you got caught too,” Lin Yi said with a smile.

“They arrested me based on a misunderstanding. You should be concerned about your situation first. Whether it’s you or your Lingyun Group, it’s over. I’m very puzzled as to how you can smile.”

Ding ding ding dang dang…

The handcuffs on Lin Yi’s hand fell.

“Do you think I have the right to smile now?”

Sorry for the inconvenience. Thank you very much!
