“It’s convenient. Just tell me what you need.”

“I just finished a meeting and heard that something happened to your company. 1 wanted to ask you what’s going on.”

“About Tian Yan?”

“Yes, your company in Meiguo seems to have been seized. I want to know what’s going on.”

“I don’t know the details. The company just informed me, and I’m preparing to go back now.”

“Go back? Where are you now?”

“I’m in Yanjing to settle some matters regarding the Central Guards Brigade.”

“That’s great. Come to my company and we’ll talk about this in detail when we meet.”

“Okay.”

Lin Yi hung up and said to Ning Che,

“I’m not going back for now. Lend me your car.”

Ning Che was stunned. She didn’t know what had happened to change Lin Yi’s mood so much.

“Okay, take it.”

It was just a car. Ning Che didn’t care. Lin Yi could take it and drive it if he wanted.

After getting the car keys, Lin Yi didn’t waste any time. He drove towards the address according to memory.

Nearly an hour later, Lin Yi arrived at Huarun Corporation.

“Hello, sir. Who are you looking for? Do you have an appointment?” the receptionist asked.

“I’m looking for your chairman.”

“Are you Mr. Lin Yi?”

“I am.”

After knowing Lin Yi’s identity, the receptionist gestured for him to enter.

“President Shen’s office is on the top floor. Just turn left after exiting the elevator.”

“Okay, thanks.”

A few minutes later, Lin Yi arrived at Shen Shuyi’s office.

Seeing Lin Yi enter, Shen Shuyi welcomed him to the sofa.

“Aunt Shen, how did you know about this?”

“Don’t panic. She’s only temporarily under detainment for investigation. Her life isn’t in danger,” Shen Shuyi said.

“I’ve already called the Foreign Office. They’re actively working on this, but we’ll have to wait to be informed of the exact outcome.”

“My guess is that the Meiguons will sue. If we don’t deal with this quickly, things will be very difficult.”

“That’s indeed possible, but our people aren’t incompetent. They’ll bring her back safely.”

“But it’s weird. It’s like everything suddenly came out in the open.”

Shen Shuyi looked at Lin Yi. “Do you think someone reported you behind your back?”

“That’s my guess. I don’t know what exactly happened,” Lin Yi said.

“You mean they’re aware of the photolithography project?”

“Perhaps, but the possibility of being exposed is relatively low. However, such radical behavior is indeed a bit unexpected.”

Shen Shuyi also fell silent. Although this matter seemed reasonable, after thinking about it carefully, she could indeed spot many things that did not make sense.

Clang! Clang! Clang!

Just as the two of them were discussing countermeasures, there was a knock on Shen Shuyi’s office door.

“Come in.”

Shen Shuyi responded. A middle-aged man in his forties walked in with a laptop in his hand.

The man’s name was Guo Chunxiang, and he was the vice president of Huarun Group.

“Is this regarding the project in Bazil? 1 have something else to do. 1’11 look for you later.”

“It’s not about that project.” Guo Chunxiang said.

“Didn’t you give me a list earlier to keep an eye on the companies mentioned? Out of the fifteen companies, I had doubts about fourteen of them. But just now, negative information about their unstable financial situations and inadequate research and development capabilities was exposed. Six of these companies are already listed, and the overall market has started to decline. The situation is very grim. Moreover, the author of the article specifically pointed out that all of these companies are invested in by Lingyun Group. This has had varying degrees of impact on companies like Longxin and Didi, causing them to lose over 5 billion in value in an instant.”

“Huh? This is related to the Lingyun Group?”

Hearing Lin Yi’s words, Guo Chunxiang was stunned for a moment. Shen Shuyi introduced,

“He’s Lin Yi, the president of Lingyun Group.”

After knowing Lin Yi’s identity, Guo Chunxiang hurriedly extended his hand.

“Hello, President Lin. I’ve heard a lot about you.”

“Hello, nice to meet you.”

Lin Yi also stretched out his hand in response. “What were you talking about just now? Why is Lingyun Group involved?”

“It’s like this. After the semiconductor summit, I began to pay attention to the 40-odd companies you invested in and prepared an evaluation report on their businesses,” Shen Shuyi said.

“Unfortunately, before the evaluation report was completed, everything went gone wrong.”

Lin Yi took the laptop from Guo Chunxiang and looked at the contents. He found that the attack seemed to be very focused.

In other words, they were targeting Lingyun Group.

“I’m sure of this. Someone must have done something behind the scenes.” Lin Yi said.

“His methods are also very brilliant. On one hand, we have the Meiguon incident, and on the other hand, we have domestic pressure. It’s enough to give me a headache.”

Shen Shuyi also realized what Lin Yi was talking about.

Whether it was Meiguo’s global supply chain or the forty-odd companies that Lin Yi had secretly invested in, these were all very confidential matters.

However, the person in the dark had actually sensed it all. He was indeed not simple.

“Calm down first. I can help you suppress the public opinion in the country. This is nothing. But, we have to think of a way to settle the matters in Meiguo.”

“I want to know the specific information about Tian Yan. Can you help me get this?”

“I’ll ask for you now.”

Shen Shuyi was holding her phone. Lin Yi didn’t know who she would call.

The most important thing was to figure out Tian Yan’s exact location and her own situation.

A few minutes later, Shen Shuyi hung up.

“Because she’s going to be subpoenaed at any time in the States, she’s restricted from traveling. She’s still at home in Saint Francesco.”

“Alright, thank you, Aunt Shen,” Lin Yi stood up.

“Where are you going?”

“A trip to Meiguo. She works for me. If something happens, 1 have to bring her back.”

“What a joke!” Shen Shuyi stood up and stopped him.

“You’re Tian Yan’s behind-the-scenes boss. This matter might be leaked too. At that time, they can detain you with just a word. The impact on Lingyun Group and the photolithography machine project will be immeasurable.”

“Aunt Shen, don’t worry. 1 know what they’re like. Nothing will happen to me.”

“That won’t do!”

“But I have to go.” Lin Yi said firmly.

“If we rely on negotiations to solve the problem, we won’t be able to get a definite answer. I don’t have that much time to wait.”

She had always heard Liang Ruoxu say that Lin Yi was a very stubborn person, but this time, Shen Shuyi finally understood.

He did not show his stubbornness hysterically as others did. He only calmly told you that what he wanted to do.. Anyone who tried to stop him was his enemy!
