Lin Yi pursed his lips. “A starving camel is still bigger than a horse. Even if they dropped one level, the Wang family’s influence is still nothing to scoff at, right?”

“That’s for sure.” Shen Shuyi said.

“But it can’t be compared to the Lu family. It’s almost at the same level as the Liang family now.”

“That’s a good thing. After all, there was a big gap in the past.”

“To the Liang family, it’s a big step forward, but overall, I still have to thank you. If not for this incident, the Liang family wouldn’t have such an opportunity.”

“We’re family, you’re welcome,” Lin Yi said with a smile.

“Then I’ll sell you another piece of information. Some leaders are not very satisfied with your actions this time. Now, many people are discussing this matter, but don’t worry too much. They’re mostly just verbal warnings.” Shen Shuyi said.

“However, this can also be considered a signal. You’ve already been flagged as a monopoly. Even without the incident with the Wang family, the higher-ups would have acted against you.”

“In that case, this matter won’t be easy to deal with.”

The fact that his group had become a monopoly was now concrete, and he had no justification for it.

When you are wrong, you should admit it, and when you are punished, you should stand up straight. This time, it was Lin Yi’s turn to be punished.

“Calm down. It’s not as serious as you think,” Shen Shuyi said gently.

“Do more good deeds and play the Lingyun Foundation card well. Don’t learn from those capitalists. Foreign capital’s approach doesn’t work in Huaxia.”

“The Lingyun Foundation card…”

Lin Yi muttered. He felt that Shen Shuyi was pointing out something to him, but he hadn’t gotten it yet.

He felt like his IQ.had been crushed.

“Just focus on appearances, not on substance.”

“Appearances and substance? That sounds like a line from a movie, it feels so familiar.”

“For a long time, your Lingyun Foundation must have invested a lot of money in the country, right?” Shen Shuyi asked.

“It’s almost 800 million. It’s not much.”

This was one of the things Lin Yi didn’t understand.

The Lingyun Foundation was a very private aspect of his life. He did not ask for anything in return. He just wanted to help some people. However, because he was paying for it himself, it was not very large-scale.

It was completely incomparable to those charitable big shots in the country. It was undeserving of the attention of the big shots above.

However, Shen Shuyi had asked him to play this card well, which was a little difficult for him to understand.

That was because he could not play this card well. The Lingyun Group was a money-burning project and did not have much leftover to do charity.

At best, it was like having a pair of fives. It was impossible to match the effect of a royal flush in poker.

Lin Yi originally thought he would get an answer from Shen Shuyi, but unexpectedly, what he heard in the end was a charming laughter like silver bells.

His future mother-in-law was really charming!

“Now you realize what you’re lacking.”

“I’m not as good as Aunt Shen at all. I admitted that from the beginning to the end.”

“Your greatest strength is that you’re meticulous, decisive, and bold. These qualities are almost innate. If you have them, you have them. If you don’t, you don’t have them. However, you’re very lucky. You don’t lack these rare qualities.” Shen Shuyi paused for a moment and said.

“And what you’re lacking now can be nurtured postnatally. What I am talking about is known as an international perspective.”

Lin Yi didn’t say anything because Shen Shuyi was right.

He had once commented that Qi Xianzhao and He Yuanyuan lacked international perspective. In fact, he was the same. He was not much better than them.

After all, he had too little contact with the rest of the world and did not know much.

“Aunt Shen, do you mean that I should do more international projects?”

“More or less.” Shen Shuyi said.

“The world is in peace, but most regions and countries are still suffering from famine and war. The United Nations has to allocate a large amount of manpower and resources to tackle this every year. If you can stand up and do something at this time, think about the effect.”

“I understand what you means,” Lin Yi said softly.

In summary, this matter was still charity, but the target of charity had changed.

From the poor in the country to the poor in the world.

As for how this would help him, it was because these things should have been done by the country.

If he handled these things himself, it could be considered as helping establish Huaxia’s prestige.

This was a very advanced approach.

The benefits they could obtain were not just corroborated by a string of numbers.

“Are you unhappy? Are you resentful?” Shen Shuyi said with a smile.

“That’s not true. I’m still considerate of this logic.”

“I understand your Lingyun Foundation. It was established based on your personal will. Your goal was also very simple. You just wanted to do something good for the common people. But now, I’m asking you to help foreigners. I understand that you feel uncomfortable. It’s a good thing to be in your twenties and have a sincere heart. But one day, you will enter the next stage of your life. Consider this stage as laying the foundation for your future.”

Shen Shuyi said,

“Over 70% of the investments that Huarun Group has made over the years have gone overseas in order to open up the global trade cycle. In the past, we were all working for others. From now on, the entire world will be Huaxia’s factory. When the world economy cycle starts, you will see the final profits. When that happens, you will use this money to repay your Lingyun Foundation. This is a path of sustainable development, not wilful spending.”

“I know, it’s a good path.”

“You’re a smart person. I won’t beat around the bush with you. I’ll give you a call later. You’ll meet the person in charge of our company’s related projects. I’ll inform him later while you should get the person in charge of your Lingyun Foundation to contact him.” Shen Shuyi said.

“When it comes to specific operations, give me a heads up in advance. Don’t just handle it on your own. I’ll help you exchange some foreign currency. We have too much reserves now, and you need to help spend some,” said Shen Shuyi.

“What? Help spend foreign currency?” Lin Yi exclaimed in surprise.

“That’s not necessary. Even if I were to do that, I wouldn’t be able to use much compared to the vast foreign exchange reserves.”

“This isn’t done at the national level. It’s for the leaders to see. To give a simple example, you spending 100 million USD of foreign exchange reserves is more meaningful than giving away 10 million in cash.”

“I understand. Aunt Shen, you’re the best.”

“It’s all experience. I learned it from someone else.” Shen Shuyi smiled and said.

“If you play the Lingyun Foundation card well, coupled with the support of the Liang family, as long as you don’t court death, you will be forever well-off in Huaxia. But that’s also the limit of your stage. The future development will be limited.”

“Aunt Shen, what do you mean?”

“I can’t say anymore. You can figure out the rest yourself.” Shen Shuyi smiled and said.

“By the way, I mentioned the issue of being interviewed earlier. When dealing with interpersonal matters, I won’t remind you anymore. If someone comes to interview you for a fine, just maintain a good attitude. Once this sensitive period passes, everything will be fine.”

“Roger that!”
