I Get A Random New Occupation Every Week

Chapter 654 - 654 Human Nature

654 Human Nature

“You’re right.” Ji Qingyan nodded.

“But what if we the child is adopted and the foster parents don’t treat the child well?”

“You don’t have to worry too much about that,” Lin Yi said.

“The adoptive parents of the child are usually locals. Every few months, they will drop by and visit. If they find that the situation is not good for the child, they will normally bring the child back immediately. Due to this, nothing has happened for so many years. After all, those who come here to adopt children are typically infertile. At worse, their family conditions might not be the best, but no one has ever abused any of the children.”

!!
Ji Qingyan nodded, understanding what Lin Yi meant.

If someone didn’t like children, they wouldn’t come to adopt kids in the first place.

Thus, there shouldn’t be much to worry about.

“Then how do we verify the information?”

“We call the police station,” Lin Yi said, “Tell them that you’re from Blue Sky Welfare Institute. They’ll help you get all the information about the adopter. From there, we’ll have to analyze carefully if we want to proceed with the adoption.”

“Alright, leave it to me.”

There were only three adoption documents, so the workload was not too heavy. In less than half an hour, Ji Qingyan was done with everything.

However, Wang Cuiping or Zhao Quanfu had to personally go to the police station to collect the specific verification materials to prevent them from being leaked.

“Lin Yi, one of them seems to be quite well-off. Their family owns a business, and they even specifically said that their wife is infertile and especially likes children. The children shouldn’t suffer in such a family.”

“Huh? His wife is infertile?”

Lin Yi, who was playing games, sat up from his chair with a strange expression.

“What’s wrong? Is there something wrong?”

“Generally speaking, those who come here to ask for a child are all because the men have problems. There aren’t many women who suffer from infertility.”

“Ah? Is there a difference?”

“There’s a big difference,” Lin Yi said, “I’ll give you an example and you’ll understand.”

“If you and I, uh… let’s not curse ourselves . Let me give you another example.”

“If Qin Han and his wife have problems and they still want children, what do you think they will do?”

“They’ll adopt a child,” she replied matter-of-factly. “Just like these three couples.”

“What do you think will happen if Qin Han’s wife is infertile?”

“What else can they do? They will definitely have to adopt a child. Neither side is to blame.”

“Wrong!” Lin Yi said, “Qin Han will find another person.”

“Huh? No way?!”

Ji Qingyan widened her beautiful eyes, feeling as if her worldview had been shattered.

“It’s true.” Lin Yi said.

“Even if he had a child with another woman, no matter what, she’s still his biological daughter. Why would he adopt a child who he shares no blood relationship with?”

“Based on what you said, it’d be no different for women. If you have a child with another man, isn’t the child still part of your bloodline?”

“It’s your bloodline, but which man would be willing to spend money to support someone else’s child?” Lin Yi said.

“In addition, due to the gentle and emotional nature of women, they typically don’t let other boys touch them. Do you understand what I mean?”

“I understand.” Ji Qingyan pursed her lips. What Lin Yi said made sense, but she still needed some time to digest it.

Ji Qingyan took the document that Lin Yi was suspicious of.

“What about this?”

“I’ll make a call and find out.”

Lin Yi wasn’t sure if there was a problem, but it was only a phone call. It was good to investigate these things carefully.

Lin Yi looked at his phone. When he came to Yangcheng, he had saved the number of the Secretary of Yangcheng, Wu Zhaoyou.

Now that the Beiqiao Town project was ongoing, it should be fine to call in a favor.

“Hi, Mr. Lin, we haven’t contacted each other in a long time,” Wu Zhaoyou said politely and warmly.

Wu Zhaoyou was very grateful toward Lin Yi.

He had only asked for five million yuan from the city, but he had given 15 million yuan. This was also huge for his political achievements.

Other than that, he also knew that Lin Yi and Liang Ruoxu had a close relationship.

No matter what, there would be no harm in building a good relationship with Lin Yi.

“It’s been a long time indeed.” Lin Yi smiled. “Secretary Wu has been doing well recently, right?”

“Everything’s fine. I was thinking of going to Zhonghai to have a drink with you.”

“That sounds good,” Lin Yi said, “Secretary Wu, I called you today mainly because I need your help with something.”

“No problem. If you have anything to say, just say it. In Yangcheng, my words still carry some weight.”

“Help me investigate a person called Zhang Wenbao. He owns a company called Green Control Environmental Protection. Help me check if this family is clean.”

The last sentence was industry jargon, but Wu Zhaoyou naturally understood what he meant. He wanted a full investigation.

Otherwise, the materials from the Public Security Bureau would be sufficient.

“Alright, leave this to me. I’ll get someone to investigate himnow.”

After hanging up, Lin Yi looked at Ji Qingyan.

“Done. Let’s wait for the news.”

“Okay.”

Ji Qingyan nodded.

“If there’s really a problem, we have to take this matter seriously.”

“Needless to say,” Lin Yi said, “We can’t let them take advantage of the orphanage.”

In the afternoon, the police station called to request the orphanage to pick up the results of the investigation.

Initially, Lin Yi wasn’t in a hurry. It didn’t matter if he took it back a day earlier or later.

However, Ji Qingyan could not wait any longer. She dragged Lin Yi out, wanting to know the results of the investigation as soon as possible.

Helpless, Lin Yi could only bring Zhao Quanfu to the nearby police station.

“Uncle Zhao, the information on the three families is here. Everything looks pretty good.”

The person in charge was a young lady and spoke very politely.

“Sorry to trouble you.” Zhao Quanfu smiled honestly.

“I’m sorry to keep pestering you.”

“This is our duty. You guys are also serving society. We have to actively cooperate with each other.”

“Thank you, thank you.”

After thanking him, the three of them walked out of the police station.

Zhao Quanfu looked at the information in his hand. “Everything seems to be in order, especially with that person called Zhang Wenbao. His family seems to be quite rich. The child shouldn’t suffer.”

Lin Yi was about to speak when his phone rang.

It was a call from Wu Zhaoyou.

“Mr. Lin, the person you asked me to investigate is quite clean. He doesn’t have a criminal history and has a one-year-old son. His company isn’t big and can’t compare to your Lingyun Group. Unless there’s a special reason, I don’t think there’s a need for your group to partner with his company.”

Obviously, Wu Zhaoyou had misunderstood this matter.

He thought that Lin Yi wanted to work with this person, which is why he had asked him to investigate him.

“You said he had a son?”

“Isn’t that what the information said? I think he was one year and three months old.”

“Alright, I understand. Thank you, Secretary Wu.”

Lin Yi hung up the phone, but both Ji Qingyan and Zhao Quanfu had overheard their conversation.

“This family has a child?”
