Chapter 653 - 653 How Long Must This Go On?

653 How Long Must This Go On?

Ji Qingyan shyly pushed Lin Yi.

“I’m just not letting you look at other girls. Who asked you to crawl into my bed?”

“I just want to see your beauty.”

“You just want to take the opportunity to be a hooligan. Yueyue was led astray by you.”

!!
“Since you don’t want me to look at female streamers, I naturally have to see you. No matter what, I have to see something.”

“Just sleep well. Don’t be naughty.”

“What are you talking about? If I wasn’t going to do anything, why would I come to your bed? To think about life?”

“Hooligan, you… Ah, pinch me gently.”

…

The next morning.

Warm sunlight streamed in from outside, and Ji Qingyan snuggled in Lin Yi’s embrace. She slept exceptionally comfortably.

Piap!

Lin Yi slapped Ji Qingyan’s butt.

“Get up. It’s past eight.”

Ji Qingyan twisted her body. “I’ll sleep for a while longer. You can get up first.”

Lin Yi got up and washed up. Not long after, there was a knock on the door. Guo Ningyue walked in in a long white dress.

“Huh? Where’s my sister-in-law?”

“Still sleeping in there.”

“How long did you guys gi at it? It’s not like you don’t have a chance to do it at home. Why are you acting like those young college students?”

“You don’t understand,” Lin Yi said, “The hotel feels different from home.”

“Maybe I’m just too immature.”

Creak…

Ji Qingyan opened the door. “Don’t listen to your brother’s nonsense. We didn’t do anything yesterday. We just slept a little late.”

“If you didn’t do anything, why did you go to bed late? To have a heart-to-heart conversation?”

She was speechless.

Guo Ningyue chuckled and walked up to Ji Qingyan.

“That’s enough, Sister-in-Law. You don’t have to explain. We’re all adults. It’s normal.”

Ji Qingyan wanted to cry but had no tears. She reckoned that no matter how much she explained, this girl would not believe her.

“I’m going to wash up and put on makeup. I’ll eat later.”

“There’s no hurry,” Guo Ningyue said.

“Sister-in-Law, where do you want to go? I’ll take you there.”

“Ask your brother about that. I’ll follow him.”

“Brother, what do you want to do?”

“I’m tired of Yangcheng, so I don’t really want to travel anywhere.” Lin Yi said.

“I’ll go to visit that company today. If there’s anything that suddenly comes up, I might have to run around a bit.”

“Then I’ll go with you, but don’t forget what you promised me.”

“What is that?”

“Sister-In-Law, look at my brother. He forgot what he promised me.”

Ji Qingyan wiped her face. “Didn’t you agree to meet Yueyue’s boyfriend today to check on him for her? How could you forget such a thing? Are you really her brother?”

“Hahaha…” Lin Yi smiled awkwardly, “Actually, I remember everything. I just wanted to test your memory.”

“Hmph, don’t try to deflect the blame.”

“That’s how my brother is. He doesn’t have any other skills, but his ability to pass the blame is first-rate.” Guo Ningyue said.

“When I was in school, a girl wrote him a love letter and my mother found out about it. Then, he insisted that the love letter was for me. My mother thought that I was gay and almost brought me to see a psychiatrist.”

Ji Qingyan could not help but laugh. There was nothing she could do with this pair of siblings.

“You still have the cheek to say that? Who walked around without looking and fell into a mud pit, then went back and said that I pushed her?”

“You’re my brother. What’s wrong with you taking the fall for me?”

“You’re my sister. Isn’t it natural for you to take the blame for me?”

“Sister-In-law…”

“Alright, that’s enough.”

“When you were in Zhonghai, you bickered with Yuanyuan every day. Now that you are in Yangcheng, you are bickering with Yueyue too. How can you be like this?”

“I have to let her know the dangers of the world so that when she goes out in the future, she won’t be deceived.”

Ji Qingyan couldn’t do anything about Lin Yi either, because she was no match for him from the start.

After the two of them washed up, they went down to the hotel lobby for breakfast, then prepared to go to the orphanage.

“Brother, if you and Sister-in-Lawdo don’t want to hang out, I’ll go to work.”

“Are you still working as an accountant at that mall?”

“Yes, I haven’t changed jobs.” Guo Ningyue said.

“My salary has already risen to 6,000 yuan. Moreover, Sister Wang from the unit said that after I get my Intermediate Accountant Certificate, my salary will increase by 800 yuan.”

Lin Yi nodded. “Is work tiring?”

“I’m not that tired,” Guo Ningyue said. “If I were, I wouldn’t have the time to do livestreams.”

“It’s good that you’re serious about your work, but if you’re tired, don’t torture yourself. I can afford to take care of you.”

“Got it, Brother.”

“Go to work,” Lin Yi said, “You don’t have to work, but if you do, you have to take it seriously and not slack off.”

“Gotcha.”

Guo Ningyue hailed a cab for the two of them. After sending Lin Yi and Ji Qingyan off, she gestured by her ear.

“Brother, don’t forget what I told you. Wait for me to call you.”

“Even if I forgot, your sister-in-law wouldn’t forget. Stop wasting time and go to work.”

“I know, I know. I’m just worried.”

The two of them took a car to the orphanage.

There were not many children in the courtyard today because most of the children had been sent to school, including Dongdong.

The rest were children under the age of seven. Their kindergarten classes were handled here.

“Mom, is there anything I can do to help? I happen to be free today.”

“Nothing. There’s nothing for you to worry about. My daughter-in-law is busy with work. It’s not easy for her to find time to come to Yangcheng. Take her out for a stroll.”

“Auntie, you don’t have to worry about me. It doesn’t matter where I go.” Ji Qingyan smiled.

“I don’t need your help. Do whatever you want. Make yourself at home. Don’t feel restrained.”

“Okay.”

“Lil Yi, Daughter-in-Law, come here.”

Zhao Quanfu waved at them from the other side of the corridor.

“What’s wrong?” Lin Yi walked over and asked.

“I’ll put you two to work.”

Zhao Quanfu brought the two of them to the room on the inner side. There were three portions of materials on the table, which were held together with plastic clips typically used to dry clothes.

“Is someone here to adopt a baby?”

“Mhm.” Zhao Quanfu nodded. “Three families have come to look for us. They’re all infertile and want to adopt a child. Help me verify the information and see if there are any problems.”

“No problem.”

Growing up in an orphanage, Lin Yi was familiar with this and knew what to do.

“Alright, I’ll leave this to the two of you. Some of the children’s beds are broken, so I have to clean them up.”

“Okay, go.”

After giving his instructions, Zhao Quanfu left while Ji Qingyan picked up the three sets of materials on the table.

She immediately felt sentimental toward the children and couldn’t bear to send them away.

“Are you feeling uncomfortable?”

“Yes, I can’t bear to do this.”

“Don’t worry. Their situation is much better now,” Lin Yi said.

“With me supporting the orphanage, I don’t have to worry about money anymore, so my mother changed the rules. She won’t send away children over the age of three unless they want to leave.”

“What about those under three?”

“They’re under three years old and their consciousness hasn’t developed yet. Therefore, Mother Wang is willing to find them a good family,” Lin Yi said.

“After all, no matter how good an orphanage is, it is still just an orphanage.”
