Immortality Through Array Formations

Chapter 2611: Chapter 57: Establishing a Legacy (2)

”Once you become a shaman, you must abandon your previous background, bloodline, name, and all worldly possessions, devoting yourself entirely to serving the Master of the Great Wilderness.”

”All shamans refer to themselves externally only as ’Mr. Witch.’

”Only by continuously strengthening one’s faith, achieving merit points, and being promoted to an Upper Witch can one receive a unique title from the Divine Lord.”

Mo Hua’s heart was slightly moved, and he calmly asked Elder Zamu:

”Do you still know the Divine Lord?”

”Yes,” Elder Zamu sighed devoutly, ”Nowadays, the Three Thousand Tribes only worship their respective Barbarian Gods, instead of the Divine Lord, showing no reverence for the Divine Lord, and even being unaware of the Divine Lord. This is truly the sin of the Great Wilderness tribes, and also the original sin of the Great Wilderness people for their superficial ignorance...”

Elder Zamu resented the ignorance of the Barbarian Tribes and then spoke with reverence:

”The Divine Lord is the Master of the Three Thousand Wilderness, born from the Endless Abyss, residing above the wild heavens, overlooking all beings, the oldest and most powerful deity of the Great Wilderness.”

Elder Zamu’s expression was somewhat sorrowful, ”It’s just that... since the Great Wilderness was defeated by the Taoist Court back then, the imperial family was annihilated, and fortune dwindled, the miracles of the ’Divine Lord’ have not appeared in the world for a long time, and the renown of the Divine Lord gradually faded in the Great Wilderness.”

”With the Divine Lord’s silence, various deities arose afterward. Every tribe gradually had their own ’deities,’ which are the Three Thousand Barbarian Gods of the Great Wilderness...”

Elder Zamu truthfully recounted everything he knew.

Mo Hua’s gaze slightly focused, falling into contemplation.

What Elder Zamu described differed somewhat from the parts of the origin of the Great Wilderness God Master that he already knew.

However, legends of deities have always been varied and inconclusive.

Even the image of the Divine Lord varies greatly among different believers.

This is something difficult to delve into.

But at least one thing, Mo Hua became more assured of.

That is, the Master of the Great Wilderness was once the ruling deity of the Great Wilderness, and then something must have happened to Him, leading to His death, slumber, or silence.

With the Divine Lord’s silence, the divine system of the Great Wilderness was completely disturbed.

The present Great Wilderness is an era where the Three Thousand Barbarian Gods share the stage, parasitizing tribes, and dividing the faith.

This is a chaotic situation among deities.

Chaos must precede great governance, as it has always been since ancient times.

To him, this just happens to be a good opportunity.

Moreover, being a ”shaman” of the Great Wilderness is indeed a very noble and useful identity.

Not to mention, a shaman is an apostle who maintains the relationship between people and deities, also involving the domain of the Divine Way, which is just right for him.

Mo Hua nodded, then said solemnly to Elder Zamu:

”Indeed, I am a ’shaman’.’

Elder Zamu was not surprised; when Mo Hua called himself ’Mr. Witch,’ he suspected as much in his heart.

The fact that he can intervene in matters of the Barbarian Gods also shows that this ’Mr. Witch’ before him is definitely no ordinary person.

However, he had not expected that a shaman could take on such a form.

Moreover, his Daoist Court’s official language was spoken so standardly, as if he had grown up in the Daoist Court Nine Provinces from a young age.

Elder Zamu hesitated for a moment, then softly asked, ”I wonder what affairs bring the revered shaman to our Wutu Tribe this time?”

With such a noble identity, the shaman could not possibly come to such a small tribe for no reason.

For having come, there must be some purpose.

Mo Hua nodded, wearing a serious expression, ”I carry an extremely significant mission upon me...”

Elder Zamu was startled.

Mo Hua spoke with weighty words, each enunciated deliberately:

”I aim... to unify the Divine Way and rejuvenate the Great Wilderness!”

Like heavenly thunder reverberating in his ears, Elder Zamu’s eyes widened.

Mo Hua placed his hand on Elder Zamu’s shoulder, ”And all of this begins with your Wutu Tribe...”

Elder Zamu’s expression turned somewhat blank, chills crawling out from his heart, and his back was drenched in cold sweat.

He felt that the shaman must be joking with him.

But such a noble, skilled shaman likely would not joke with him.

Unify the Divine Way?

Rejuvenate the Great Wilderness?

Either would be an earth-shattering matter.

How could such two earth-shattering matters be related to his small, impoverished Wutu Tribe that was on the verge of starvation?

The relationship between the upper echelons of the Great Wilderness and his Wutu Tribe was only to conscript some young men as cannon fodder during wars.

The rejuvenation of the Great Wilderness, was his Wutu Tribe supposed to play a leading role in that?

Let alone the notion of ’unifying the Divine Way.’

The path of the Divine, what kind of realm would it take a deity to even consider such a matter?

”Shaman... Sir... You...”

Elder Zamu’s voice trembled, filled with fear.

Mo Hua asked instead, ”How much longer can your tribe hold out?”

Thinking of the starving children, the hungry and frail elders, Elder Zamu’s expression turned silent.

Mo Hua looked at Elder Zamu, his gaze calm, and spoke slowly:

”The meaning of Zamu is firewood, burning oneself, dedicating to the tribe. You are now old, indifferent even to your own life and death; what is there to fear?”

”Listen to me. Do what I tell you to do.”

”By doing so, I can ensure the survival of your tribe.”

”I also like Little Zatu very much, and I will pass the Taoist inheritance to him, giving him a future.”

”This is already the best outcome.”

”Currently, the flames of war have just ignited, and calamity will continue for an unknown amount of time. Either the entire tribe starves to death in a prolonged wait or risks everything for a chance at a future.”

”This choice, Elder, is yours to make.”

Elder Zamu furrowed his brow, heart tumultuous, tormented by indecision. After a moment, he looked up at Mo Hua.

Mo Hua’s visage was remarkably handsome, unlike any ordinary person.

Those eyes, calm and deep, bore the compassion of a deity for all lives.

Elder Zamu’s gaze shook, feeling a surge of emotion, as he slowly bent his aged back to perform the highest homage of the Wutu Tribe toward Mo Hua, saying with respect:
