”...This is the intelligence I’ve gathered over this period of time. Please take a look.”

On the 23rd floor of the Yunxing Hotel, an intelligence agent codenamed ”Dark Nine” respectfully presented Qin Xing with a large file folder.

Qin Xing sat on the sofa, took it, and casually said, ”Let me take a look first, sit wherever you like.”

”Yes.”

An Jiu carefully sat down opposite him and waited patiently.

’Shh~~’

The sound of paper turning.

Qin Xing flipped through the pages with a calm expression.

As you can see, these are some materials about people, including photos and documents. The documents are biographical information about some people.

After reviewing the documents from beginning to end, Qin Xing looked up, his expression calm: ”Judging from this, these individuals... all seem to have some unclear ties with the Divine Descent Sect? Is there any concrete evidence?”

”Yes, the evidence is on that USB drive, including audio evidence... You can take a look.”

An Jiu immediately stood up and bowed.

Qin Xing glanced at the document bag and, sure enough, there was a silver USB drive. After thinking for a moment, he stood up and walked over.

There was a computer in the room, of course. He inserted the USB drive and began to examine it carefully.

A moment later, he suddenly paused a video, then squinted and zoomed in on a certain area of the screen.

After a moment, his eyes narrowed involuntarily.

”It really is the Divine Descent Cult... I didn’t expect that Shiping City would be so thoroughly infiltrated...”

He paused for a moment, then turned to look at An Jiu, who was respectfully waiting to the side: ”How much do you know?”

”We have grasped the basic information mentioned in the materials.”

”What is our current strength in Shiping City? Is it enough to eradicate the Divine Descent Cult completely?”

”Apart from the enemy’s stronghold, we are confident in our ability to operate in other areas... Currently, the task force consists of 327 members, all of whom are combat professionals of level two or above. Although they are all just ordinary professionals... with the equipment provided by the organization, they can still form a formidable fighting force.”

An Jiu answered immediately.

”Has the location of the hideout been confirmed?”

”It’s roughly confirmed.”

”What about the Combat Department?”

”Preparations are already complete.”

Without further hesitation, Qin Xing nodded and stood up, saying, ”Then let’s spread the word and prepare for action.”

”Yes!”

An Jiu’s eyes flashed, he respectfully accepted the order, turned around and left to quickly make arrangements.

Qin Xing then opened the panel and contacted his boss.

Xing Shuo: ”Boss, it’s basically confirmed. There are indeed traces of the Divine Descent Sect.”

Shortly after.

Yong: ”Have you located the enemy headquarters?”

Xing Shuo: ”The meaning of the hidden characters on the stone screen is basically confirmed.”

Yong: ”Okay, let’s get started.”

Xing Shuo: ”Yes.”

……

After ending the call, Qin Xing let out a soft breath and narrowed his eyes slightly.

He knew what mission he was carrying out: Operation Agent... to help a hardliner in the Combat Division rise to the top.

But there is an even more important task in this process...

’Eliminate the Divine Advent Cult!’
The Divine Descent Cult is a scourge on humanity; without eliminating these people, there can be no peace in the rear.

...The leader had already passed on some information about the Divine Descent Cult to them.

This includes the various clandestine methods of communication used by the Divine Advent Cult.

In the scene he just paused, one of the targets went to a place that clearly showed a secret code used by the Divine Descent Cult.

Therefore, it can be almost certain that the inaction of the combat command in Shiping City is not only due to geographical location issues, nor is it simply a matter of shirking responsibility.

...but rather, it was the divine intervention of the religion that was causing the trouble.

A flash of light appeared in Qin Xing’s hand, and a mask appeared in his palm.

He squinted his eyes and licked his tongue...

This is your first solo mission, so you’d better do your best!

Qin Xing knew that... besides Shiping City, there were many other cities and many companions who were carrying out the same mission at the same time.

...He didn’t mean he had to be the best one.

But at least, it can’t be the worst one, right?
...He didn’t want to be criticized by a few sarcastic people at the next gathering.

A cold smile gradually appeared on his face.

……

That evening, a dramatic change occurred in Shiping City.

”That was terrifying! An explosion in the middle of the night almost knocked me out! Damn it!”

”I never expected the dungeon monsters to spawn right at the entrance... It scared me to death. If it weren’t for the War Division, I don’t know how many people would have died yesterday...”

”Yeah yeah……”

Early in the morning, residents near a notorious unfinished building in Shiping City were looking in the direction of the unfinished building and discussing it amongst themselves.

They were almost all awakened by the terrifying roar in the middle of the night.

It was as if a huge explosion had occurred there; residents of nearby buildings even felt an earthquake-like tremor, and some saw flames shooting into the sky.

Some even ran out in the middle of the night to see what was going on.

However, they were stopped by a group of people dressed as combat specialists, who told them that dungeon monsters had spawned there and advised them to stay away to avoid being affected by them.

People were immediately startled, and those who were eager for a glimpse of the truth dared not approach any further...

Monster respawning in dungeons is a common occurrence in cities.

People die frequently!

Ordinary people wouldn’t even dare to approach, let alone professionals... Who knows which dungeon monster spawned here?
What if it’s a second-order problem?
There are several Tier 2 dungeons near Shiping City.

only……

”The Combat Division reacted very quickly today, that deserves praise.”

”Exactly, normally when something like this happens, the Combat Division wouldn’t arrive in less than half an hour. Today they were quick though...”

They buzzed with discussion.

”What did you say?! The director, and the three deputy directors, are all... are all dead?!”

at the same time.

Shiping City Combat Command.

The members who had just arrived at the Combat Division heard some shocking news as soon as they entered the office.

The director and three deputy directors of the Shiping City Combat Command... are dead!
boom!
Suddenly, the entire office erupted in noise.

It’s unbelievable.

The entire leadership of the Shiping City Combat Command died suddenly in a single day?!
The sky is falling!

”W-what’s going on?!”

A captain asked incredulously.

”It was the Divine Descent Cult that did it.”

Before the messenger could speak, a voice rang out, and they saw a man with a cold expression walk into the gates of the Combat Division.

”Team Leader Zhao.”

”Team Leader Zhao!”

People looked at him.

This Captain Zhao has a rugged face and sharp eyes.

One of the captains paused for a moment, then quickly asked, ”Zhao Yu? You mean the Divine Descent Sect did this... what, what do you mean?”

”I was the first to receive the report and rushed to Director Luo’s house immediately... Director Luo’s house was covered with the totems of the Divine Descent Cult. There is no doubt that it was the Divine Descent Cult that did this!”

After glancing at the captain, Zhao Yu said in a deep voice.

”God, God descends upon the Church...” The captain looked astonished.

“It’s not just Director Luo… the other directors are the same.” Zhao Yu’s eyes flashed with anger: “It was all done by the Divine Descent Sect.”

”The Divine Descent Cult?”

”How dare they?!” Upon hearing this, the members of the Combat Division all blazed with fury!

”Their families...are also dead?” The captain asked incredulously after a moment of stunned silence.

“Apart from Director Luo, the other directors were all ambushed and killed by the Shenlin Cult on the way... Their families are fine, but Director Luo’s family... are all dead.”

Zhao Yu gritted his teeth.

”That’s impossible!” the captain exclaimed.

”Huh?” Zhao Yu looked up at him, his eyes narrowing. ”What do you mean by ’impossible’?”

The captain then snapped out of his shock and immediately realized his lapse in composure, hurriedly saying, ”I mean... the director and the others were level 3 professionals, and they were killed so easily?”

Zhao Yu gave him a deep look, then took a deep breath: ”Although I don’t want to accept it either... this is the truth.”

There was silence.

After a long pause, someone finally said in a trembling voice, ”The problem now is... several bureau chiefs are dead, so... what should we do?”

Everyone looked at each other.

This has never happened before!
The entire leadership of a combat division was wiped out?
The captain, who didn’t believe the Divine Descent Cult had taken action, was about to say something.

Zhao Yu took a deep breath and said in a deep voice, ”This is a provocation from the Divine Descent Sect. I propose that... Advisor Chen temporarily assume the role of acting director. Report the matter to the United Front Work Department, and we will make further decisions after receiving the order from the United Front Work Department.”

After saying this, he looked into the Combat Division.

There, a man stood silently.

Everyone looked over subconsciously.

A moment later, a buzz of discussion arose.

”Advisor Chen...it seems he’s the most qualified person in the department to temporarily assume the position of director.”

”Yes, Consultant Chen should have been promoted to deputy bureau chief nine years ago, but he didn’t have a real position, so he was temporarily appointed as a consultant... Come to think of it, this has been delayed for so long...”

After they discussed it for a while, someone spoke up: ”I second that.”

Everyone turned to look and saw yet another captain-level figure.

Both captains seconded the motion.

The two captains, still somewhat hesitant, exchanged a glance, finally nodded, and looked at ’Advisor Chen’: ”Advisor Chen, with this kind of situation arising in the department, only you can take charge...”

Consultant Chen didn’t speak; he just looked at Zhao Yu, and then at the captain who spoke last.

fell into silence.

After a long while, he let out a long sigh.

“I understand… Alright, from this moment on, I will temporarily assume the role of director. Of course, this is only temporary. Once the United Front Work Department issues its order, I will step down and hand over the position to a more capable person.”

As he said this, he stared at Captain Zhao Yu.

Captain Zhao Yu remained expressionless and respectfully asked, ”Director Chen, what should we do next?”

”Next step……”

Recalling the events of last night, Chen Xiang calmly said, ”Gather everyone. I want all the Shenlin cultists in Shiping City... to die!”

Upon hearing this, almost all the members of the Combat Division had their eyes light up.

I immediately sensed the difference between Consultant Chen and Director Luo from before!

...Director Luo would never issue or say such a thing!
The Divine Descent Cult dares to provoke the Combat Division...

Then let them all die!
”Yes!!”

Many members of the combat command stood at attention and accepted the order.

Then, the entire combat division sprang into action.

……

”What on earth happened?! Why was the position of head instructor exposed?!”

”No, I don’t know! And what’s even more troublesome is... Just now, news came from the Combat Department that four bureau chiefs from the department were killed in the incident. The Combat Department is in chaos now. Chen Xiang has temporarily taken over as bureau chief and has issued a kill order against us!”

”What?! Chen Xiang?! That madman?!”

The man’s expression changed drastically; he had clearly heard of the name.

”What do we do now?” the other person asked in a low voice.

”We can’t get in touch with any of the high priests?”

”Cannot get in touch...”

”That……”

Just then, a loud roar suddenly rang out, and everyone in the room looked over at the same time.

Someone rushed in in a panic: ”It’s terrible! The outside is full of people from the Combat Division! They’ve surrounded us!”

”what?!”

”How did they find this place?!”

The people inside the room were clearly shocked.

”You rats of the Divine Descent Cult, your death is near.”

The sounds coming from outside turned their faces instantly pale.

”escape!”

”Escape separately!”

Without any hesitation, they fled frantically.

……

Shiping City was in complete chaos that day.

All sorts of rumors are flying around.

Even in the cities, a major battle broke out!

It left people speechless.

The chaos continued into the evening before finally subsiding.

Many parts of the city have been damaged.

Some citizens were even affected and died.

……

Chen Xiang, the newly appointed ’acting director,’ did not appear at any of the places he was supposed to be at when it got dark. Instead, he appeared on the roof of a tall building.

On the rooftop, a figure was looking down.

”You...did all of this?”

Chen Xiang looked at the other person’s back and asked with a calm gaze.

”Director Chen, do you still need to ask? Didn’t I make it very clear to you yesterday?”

A soft laugh rang out, and the figure in front turned its head, revealing a masked face.

Chen Xiang’s face twitched slightly, then he said in a deep voice, ”What... exactly is your purpose?”

”Wasn’t it clear enough yesterday?” the other party asked, seemingly surprised.

Chen Xiang remained silent for a moment.

After a long pause, he asked in disbelief, ”Is it really because... Luo Xing and the others were too weak in their attitude towards the alien races, that’s why...”

”That’s just one of the reasons.”

The other person gently shook their head and looked down at the building below.

“If it were just for that reason, I wouldn’t have killed them. But their ambiguous relationship with the Divine Advent Cult… I cannot tolerate them.”

The other person sighed softly, ”Well, that’s what happens when our boss cares about all of humanity.”

”...”

Chen Xiang remained silent for a long time before asking, ”So, what do you want me to do next?”

”Do whatever you want.” The other person chuckled, turned to look at him, and then smiled. ”I just hope that when Paradise does some things in Shiping City in the future, Director Chen can provide some assistance... Of course, rest assured, it will definitely not be anything illegal or disorderly.”

”...The United Front Work Department hasn’t issued any orders yet. Are you sure I can hold onto this position?” Chen Xiang asked.

”If the boss says you can sit, then you can sit. Director Chen, just wait for the United Front Work Department’s orders.”

After saying this, the other party clapped his hands, turned around to face Chen Xiang and smiled, ”Well then, Director Chen, see you again sometime.”

After saying that, he waved his hand, and his figure disappeared completely in a burst of white light.

Chen Xiang looked at the spot where the other person had left, then looked down...

The arrest operation is still ongoing.

But Chen Xiang clearly sensed that... this time, it was not just the Combat Division that was targeting the Divine Descent Sect.

”paradise……”

He murmured the not-so-unfamiliar name, his brows furrowed.
