Rebirth: Starting with 10 Billion Us Dollars

6: Chapter 6 Shocking revelation of a billion-dollar fortuneEarly the next morning, sunlight seeped through the gaps in the hotel curtains and fell onto Chen Mo’s face.

As soon as he opened his eyes, he saw Wu Dongju curled up beside him, her long eyelashes lowered and her breathing steady.

Memories of last night instantly came flooding back.

He had been pressured into drinking by female classmates at the KTV, his head felt heavy, and then he was half-dragged and half-supported into the hotel by Wu Dongju, and then...

Chen Mo’s mouth twitched, and he thought to himself:

”This Miss Wu is way too fierce; she actually went ahead and forced herself on me.”

He quietly got up, but just as he moved to the edge of the bed, Wu Dongju woke up.

She opened her eyes, saw Chen Mo trying to slip away, and instantly sat up, her gaze fierce as she said:

”Chen Mo, are you trying to run?”

”Run? Why would I run?”

Chen Mo feigned surprise, looking completely innocent.

”You were clearly the one who dragged me in here last night, and now you’re asking me if I’m running?”

”So what if I dragged you in?”

Wu Dongju’s cheeks flushed, but she stiffened her neck and retorted:

”I’ve liked you for four years, what’s wrong with taking the initiative once? You’ve had your way with me and now you want to back out of your responsibility?”

”Back out?”

Chen Mo arched an eyebrow.

”Miss Wu, why don’t you take a look at who was the one taken advantage of last night? It was my first time!”

”You!”

Wu Dongju was so angry she laughed.

”Chen Mo, stop playing dumb with me! You drive a Rolls-Royce and wear a Patek Philippe; you’re clearly not an ordinary person. Don’t tell me you’re not good enough for me!”

Chen Mo sighed and sat on the edge of the bed:

”Fine, I’ll stop pretending. You’re in the finance world, aren’t you? Have you heard lately about someone at Citibank making ten billion USD trading foreign exchange?”

Wu Dongju was stunned:

”You mean that legendary anonymous tycoon? Don’t tell me...”

”That’s right, it’s me.”

Chen Mo nodded, his tone flat, as if he were talking about something trivial.

Wu Dongju was completely dumbfounded, her mouth hanging open for a long time.

”Ten billion USD?”

”That’s over sixty billion RMB!”

She knew Chen Mo was doing well, but she hadn’t expected him to be doing this well!

”So you understand now?”

Chen Mo looked at her.

”It’s not that I’m not good enough for you; it’s that I don’t want to get involved with the Wu Family. I know a bit about the tempers of your relatives, and I’m afraid of constant trouble.”

Wu Dongju snapped out of it, feeling both angry and amused:

”So you’re afraid my family will cling to you? Chen Mo, you’ve underestimated me! I, Wu Dongju, like you because of who you are, not because of your money!”

”I know.”

Chen Mo smiled.

”But some troubles are better avoided if possible. However, now... since the deed is done, I won’t back out. From now on, you’re my woman, and no one will dare to bully you.”

Wu Dongju’s cheeks flushed; she didn’t argue, which was a silent agreement.

After the two finished freshening up and left the hotel, Chen Mo drove Wu Dongju home and then went back to Tomson Riviera.

As soon as he walked in, he saw Wu Xue sitting on the living room sofa, holding a thermos, with a knowing smile on her face.

”Oh, Brother Chen is back?”

Wu Xue looked him up and down.

”Looking at your puffy eyes and unsteady steps, you must have slept quite ’well’ last night, huh?”

Chen Mo rolled his eyes helplessly:

”What are you doing here? I didn’t ask you to bring breakfast today.”

”I’m here to deliver a document to you.”

Wu Xue stood up and handed him a stack of papers.

”This is the office building lease agreement you asked me for. It’s the top floor with the best view, and the annual rent is five million.”

Chen Mo took the document, scanned it, and signed his name:

”Alright, this is the one. By the way, you don’t need to come over every day from now on; just send any documents to my email.”

”Understood, President Chen.”

Wu Xue replied with a smile, a hint of subtle affection in her eyes.

Having followed Chen Mo during this time, she had witnessed his generosity and felt his steady reliability, and her heart had long since been stirred.

Chen Mo didn’t notice her unusual behavior; he turned around, went into the bedroom, and opened his laptop.

A week later, on the top floor of the Shanghai Tower office building, Tianxing Technology was officially established.

In the chairman’s office, Chen Mo sat on a large leather sofa, facing Zhang Kai, the general manager he had just found through a headhunter.

Zhang Kai was around forty years old, dressed in a suit and tie, holding a file with a look of confusion on his face.

”President Chen, I looked into this ’Riot Games’ you asked me to acquire. It’s just a small foreign company that’s only been around for five years. They only have one game called ’LOL,’ and it isn’t even well-known domestically.”

Zhang Kai asked, puzzled.

”Are you sure you want to acquire it?”

”I’m sure.”

Chen Mo nodded, his tone firm.

”I’ll give you five hundred million USD. If that’s not enough, add more; there’s no cap.”

”Fi... five hundred million USD?”

Zhang Kai’s hand shook in fright, nearly dropping the file on the floor.

”That’s over four billion RMB! President Chen, isn’t that a bit too much?”

”It’s not much.”

Chen Mo smiled.

”Let me tell you, Penguin is also in acquisition talks with them right now. They already hold a 20% stake and have offered four hundred million USD to buy the remaining 80%. You need to move fast; you must take over the entire company before they reach a deal.”

Zhang Kai’s heart skipped a beat. A company Penguin was interested in?

Then it definitely wasn’t simple!

He immediately set aside his doubts and said solemnly:

”Rest assured, President Chen. I’ll contact them right away and make sure we secure this company!”

”Good.”

Chen Mo waved his hand.

”Remember, no matter what terms they set, agree to them. What I want isn’t just this company, but the game ’LOL’ and the future of the live-streaming industry.”

Although Zhang Kai didn’t understand why Chen Mo valued the live-streaming industry so much, he still respectfully replied:

”Understood! I’ll get right on it!”
