Rebirth: Starting with 10 Billion Us Dollars

3: Chapter 3: Master-Level Pilot AcquiredIn the soft glow of the restaurant, the Wagyu Beef sizzled on the teppanyaki grill, its fat dripping along the marbling, releasing an appetizing aroma.

Chen Mo picked up a slice, flipped it twice on the stone, and casually remarked:

”Actually, this Japanese Wagyu Beef is just a gimmick, to be frank. Too much fat, unhealthy.”

Wu Xue, who was holding a teacup, almost dropped it at his words.

”Ah? I’m so sorry, Brother Chen, I really didn’t know. This is my first time in a place like this...”

Wu Xue’s face felt a little hot, and her heart pounded.

Oh no, oh no. She had gritted her teeth and treated him to over a thousand yuan worth of Wagyu Beef, and he said it was unhealthy. Wasn’t this counterproductive?

”Don’t be nervous.”

Chen Mo smiled.

”I’m not saying you chose poorly; it’s fine to eat it occasionally. Those truly rich people, who eat delicacies every day, only start thinking about health preservation when their bodies break down. I’m only in my early twenties; it would be too boring to focus on health preservation now.”

He paused, then added:

”Also, don’t keep calling me ’Mr. Chen’ or ’you’ (formal). It sounds awkward. If you don’t mind, just call me Brother Chen.”

Wu Xue was stunned for a moment, then a hint of gratitude appeared on her face.

”Brother... Brother Chen, thank you.”

She breathed a sigh of relief, yet also felt a strange sensation.

This young man, clearly a super-rich magnate with tens of billions of dollars, spoke without any airs and even proactively helped her save face.

Chen Mo found her cautious demeanor a bit amusing.

When he said Wagyu Beef was unhealthy, he was just stating a fact. In his previous life, his body had been ravaged, so he was naturally sensitive to such things.

As for whether Wu Xue would overthink it, he didn’t care too much.

His current principle was to say what he wanted to say and do what he wanted to do, living a freer life.

However, this Wu Xue was indeed attractive, with a good figure and a clean, pleasant demeanor.

While he found her appealing, he didn’t plan to do anything immediately. He would let things develop naturally.

After dinner, Chen Mo paid the bill.

He didn’t let Wu Xue pay; he wasn’t so thick-skinned as to let a girl treat him to such an expensive meal.

The two walked out of the mall together. The night breeze was a bit cool and felt comfortable on their faces.

”Brother Chen, shall I take you back?”

Wu Xue stood by the roadside, looking at Chen Mo.

”I can just take a taxi. Where do you live? I’ll take you.”

Chen Mo waved his hand, and a taxi slowly pulled over.

”No, no need, I can go back by myself.”

Wu Xue quickly waved her hand.

”Get in, it’s on the way.”

Chen Mo directly opened the car door.

Wu Xue hesitated for a moment, then got in.

All the way, she felt a mix of nervousness and anticipation, her mind racing with thoughts like:

Does he have any intentions towards me? Should I use the ’special method’ the bank manager mentioned?

But when they arrived at her community entrance, Chen Mo just smiled and said,

”Get some rest early,”

and then told the driver to turn around and leave.

Wu Xue stood under the streetlamp, watching the taxi disappear into the night, feeling a strange sense of loss.

”He... he really doesn’t seem to care about me.”

Meanwhile, Chen Mo returned to the hotel, showered, and lay on the bed, just about to sleep, when the system’s voice suddenly rang in his mind.

”Ding, this month’s lottery draws have been refreshed. Does the host wish to start the lottery?”

Chen Mo’s spirits lifted.

”I almost forgot about this. Draw!”

”Ding, congratulations to the host for obtaining Master-level Driving Skill!”

Instantly, countless pieces of information flooded his mind.

Cars, motorcycles, trucks, buses, airplanes, helicopters, tanks, armored vehicles, ships, submarines...

Even the driving principles, operating techniques, and emergency procedures for some future vehicles he had only seen in data were all crystal clear, as if he had been driving for decades.

”Damn, this skill is a bit fierce.”

Chen Mo couldn’t help but complain, saying,

”I’m taking my driving test tomorrow; isn’t this just asking me to bully people?”

Of course, he wouldn’t perform any drifting or tail-flicking tricks during the test; that wasn’t showing off, but courting death.

Just getting the license steadily would be enough.

Early the next morning, a black Rolls-Royce Phantom, a special car prepared by the hotel for its top clients, was parked at the hotel entrance.

Chen Mo got in and told the driver, ”Let’s go.”

Upon arrival, Wu Xue was already waiting downstairs, dressed in casual clothes with her hair tied in a ponytail, looking even younger.

Seeing the Rolls-Royce, she was clearly taken aback.

”Brother Chen, your... your car is too extravagant, isn’t it?”

”It’s the hotel’s car, just making do.”

Chen Mo smiled.

”Get in, let’s go to the driving school.”

Wu Xue sat in the spacious back seat, feeling a little unnerved.

”Yesterday he said he’d take a taxi, today it’s a Rolls-Royce... I really don’t understand the world of the rich.”

The driving school was in the suburbs, with a nice environment and spacious grounds.

Wu Xue had called ahead, and the driving school principal personally greeted them at the entrance.

”Mr. Chen, Miss Wu, welcome, welcome! All the paperwork is ready for you, you can take the test directly.”

For the theoretical test (Subject 1), Chen Mo glanced through the questions, most of which were common sense. He submitted his paper in ten minutes and got a perfect score.

For the practical test (Subject 2), which included reverse parking, parallel parking, hill start, right-angle turn, and S-curve driving, his movements were incredibly steady. He turned the steering wheel just the right amount. Crossing the line? Non-existent.

The examiner sat in the passenger seat, expressionless throughout, but muttering in his heart:

”Is this kid here to cause trouble?”

For the road test (Subject 3), Chen Mo drove at the regulated speed, signaling when necessary, observing when needed, as smoothly as an old veteran driver.

In less than an hour, all tests were completed.

The principal, smiling, handed over a brand new driver’s license.

”Mr. Chen, congratulations, you’ve successfully obtained your license!”

”Very efficient.”

Chen Mo took the license, glanced at it, and put it in his pocket.

Coming out of the driving school, Wu Xue couldn’t help but exclaim:

”Brother Chen, you were so fast! It took me three tries to pass.”

”Good luck.”

Chen Mo said casually.

Back in the car, Chen Mo leaned back in his seat and thought for a moment.

”Next, let’s go buy a car. Are you familiar with the 4S stores in Magic City?”

”Very familiar!”

Wu Xue immediately perked up.

”Our bank cooperates with many 4S stores. What kind of car do you want, Brother Chen? I’ll contact them right away.”

”Let’s look at sports cars first, preferably supercars.”

Chen Mo said.

In his previous life, he loved sports cars, but he couldn’t afford them back then.

Now that he was rich in this life, he naturally wanted to fulfill that dream.

”Then let’s go to Huangpu District; there are many luxury car dealerships there.”

Wu Xue took out her phone and started making calls.

Half an hour later, they arrived at a large luxury car 4S store.

Several people were already standing at the entrance, led by a middle-aged man in his forties, impeccably dressed in a suit, with a beaming smile.

”Mr. Chen, Miss Wu, welcome, welcome!”

The middle-aged man quickly came forward.

”I’m Xiao Fan, the general manager here. You can just call me Old Xiao.”

He had received the call earlier and knew that a top VIP client from Dragon Country Bank was coming, so he dared not be negligent.

”General Manager Xiao, you’re too kind.”

Chen Mo nodded.

”What kind of car would Mr. Chen like to see? We have Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, and Maserati here, all the latest models.”

Xiao Fan led Chen Mo inside while introducing the cars.

”Let’s look at Lamborghini first.”

Chen Mo said.

In the Lamborghini showroom, a matte black Lamborghini Murciélago LP670-4 SV was particularly striking, with its low body and sharp lines, looking formidable.

”Mr. Chen, this is the Lamborghini Murciélago LP670-4 SV, a limited edition. There are only dozens worldwide, and this one in our store just arrived. It costs about 7 million yuan on the road.”

Xiao Fan introduced.

Chen Mo walked around the car, nodded:

”This car is good, very imposing.”

He sat in the driver’s seat and felt it out. The space wasn’t large, but the sense of enclosure was strong. With the steering wheel in his hands, his childhood dream of a sports car was instantly rekindled.

”I’ll take this one.”

Chen Mo got out and told Xiao Fan.

Xiao Fan’s face lit up with joy.

”Alright, Mr. Chen, I’ll put it down for you right away!”

”Let’s look at Bugatti next.”

Chen Mo said.

The Bugatti showroom was on the other side, brighter, with a gleaming silver Bugatti Veyron 16.4 parked right in the center, like a work of art.

”Mr. Chen, this is the Bugatti Veyron 16.4, 1001 horsepower, a top speed of over 400 kilometers per hour, costing around 30 million yuan on the road.”

Xiao Fan’s tone carried a hint of pride.

”This is one of the fastest production cars in the world right now.”

Chen Mo glanced at it, quite satisfied.

”Alright, this one too.”

Xiao Fan: ”...”

He had originally thought Chen Mo would buy at most one supercar, but this was already the second.

Wu Xue, standing nearby, was also a bit stunned.

”Brother Chen, this... these are two already?”

”Sports cars, how can one be enough?”

Chen Mo smiled.

”Let’s look at Rolls-Royce next.”

Xiao Fan quickly said:

”Mr. Chen, please come this way. We have an authorized Rolls-Royce showroom.”

The style of the Rolls-Royce showroom was completely different, more solemn and luxurious.

”Mr. Chen, this is the Rolls-Royce Phantom Extended Wheelbase, 2011 model, costing about 12 million yuan on the road.”

Xiao Fan pointed to a black Phantom.

”It has ample space and first-class comfort, very suitable for business reception.”

Chen Mo looked at it; it was indeed impressive, with an exaggeratedly large rear space, more than enough for three people.

”This car is good, also convenient for daily outings.”

Chen Mo nodded.

”I’ll take this one too.”

Xiao Fan was already a bit numb.

”Okay, Mr. Chen...”

”Do you have SUVs?”

Chen Mo asked.

”Yes, yes, yes!”

Xiao Fan quickly said,

”This way is the Rolls-Royce Cullinan. Although the 2011 model’s configuration and exterior are basically set, we can provide it to you with the latest configuration, costing around 8 million yuan on the road.”

Chen Mo looked at the Cullinan; its body was tall and imposing, looking more luxurious than ordinary SUVs.

”Alright, this one too.”

Chen Mo said,

”One sports car, one supercar, one sedan, one SUV—just enough.”

Xiao Fan: ”...”

He calculated: Lamborghini 7 million, Bugatti 30 million, Rolls-Royce Phantom 12 million, Cullinan 8 million, totaling 57 million yuan!

And this was called ”just enough”?

Wu Xue was also shocked and whispered:

”Brother Chen, so many cars, can you even drive them all?”

”I can just look at them too.”

Chen Mo smiled.

”I’ll switch them up occasionally.”

Xiao Fan had recovered by now, his palms sweating with excitement.

”Yes, yes, yes! Mr. Chen, please wait a moment, I’ll arrange everything immediately!”

While making calls to arrange the paperwork, he couldn’t help but secretly ask Wu Xue:

”Sister Wu... Sister Wu, what exactly is Mr. Chen’s background?”

Wu Xue glared at him.

”Don’t ask what you shouldn’t ask.”

Xiao Fan was rebuffed but dared not show any dissatisfaction; instead, he became even more certain that Chen Mo’s identity was not simple.

The procedures were handled quickly, and the 4S store directly provided existing license plates.

In less than half an hour, all paperwork for the four cars was completed.

”Mr. Chen, would you like to take them for a test drive?”

Xiao Fan asked cautiously.

”No need, just have them delivered to my hotel,” Chen Mo said.

In less than an hour, Chen Mo spent 57 million yuan at the 4S store.

Walking out of the 4S store and looking at the row of brand new luxury cars, Chen Mo felt quite satisfied.

”The dreams of my previous life, all fulfilled at once in this life.”
