Rebirth: Starting with 10 Billion Us Dollars

2: Chapter 2 Hundreds of Billions of DollarsThe afternoon sunlight streamed through the floor-to-ceiling windows of the five-star hotel, casting dappled shadows on the floor.

Chen Mo leaned back on the sofa, his fingertips gliding across the keyboard of his laptop. The numbers in his foreign exchange account were dazzling.

10 Billion US Dollars!

A month ago, he had transferred 1 million US dollars into it from Citibank. Now, it had multiplied by a full ten thousand times.

The foreign exchange market was truly wild, trading 24 hours non-stop, with volatility fiercer than futures. Coupled with his Grandmaster Investment Skill, which allowed him to precisely pinpoint the turning point of every rise and fall, operating it was as easy as fish in water.

Take last week’s Euro against the US Dollar trend, for instance. He calculated in advance that 1.4420 was the low point and decisively went all-in. In less than eight hours, it surged to 1.4680, netting him over 200 million US dollars in one go.

Then there was the British Pound against the Japanese Yen. He watched the fluctuation curve and placed a buy order at 128.50. By 3 AM, it had risen to 132.30. When he closed the position, his account balance increased by another 300 million US dollars.

”That’s enough. Take the profit when you can.”

Chen Mo moved his fingertip and initiated the transfer program he had written earlier.

The Grandmaster Programming Skill was no joke; the entire process was encrypted, and Citibank’s system couldn’t detect any anomalies. The 10 billion US dollars silently transferred from the account at the headquarters in Eagle Country to his private account at the Dragon Country Bank.

Not long after he closed his laptop, his phone rang. It was a number from the Dragon Country Bank.

”Hello, good afternoon.”

”May I speak with Mr. Chen Mo? This is the Shanghai Branch of the Dragon Country Bank. A transfer of 10 billion US dollars has been credited to your account, and we require you to come in for verification.”

The voice on the other end sounded nervous.

”I understand. I’ll be right over.”

Chen Mo hung up, stood up, changed into a clean casual outfit, grabbed his jacket, and headed out.

At the Shanghai Branch of the Dragon Country Bank, pandemonium had already broken out.

Branch Manager Li Wei sat in his office, clutching a report, and said:

”Are you sure it’s 10 billion US dollars? A private account?”

”Absolutely certain! Manager, the transfer vouchers from Citibank have arrived, and the account information has been verified. It is indeed our client, Chen Mo, whose account previously held only 10 million RMB in deposits.”

Supervisor Xiao Zhang stood to the side, his voice trembling.

”10 billion US dollars...”

Li Wei gasped, and his first thought was money laundering.

”Report it to the police immediately, and contact the head office! I’ll go to the lobby!”

If this wasn’t handled properly, he wouldn’t be the branch manager for much longer.

As soon as Chen Mo walked into the bank lobby, Li Wei recognized him and quickly hurried over, plastering an enthusiastic smile on his face:

”Mr. Chen, hello, hello! I am Li Wei, the Branch Manager. Please, come into the VIP room!”

The surrounding staff were stunned. The usually stern manager was being so polite to such a young man?

In the VIP room, two police officers in uniform were already waiting, along with a middle-aged leader from the head office, whose expression was stern.

”Mr. Chen, please present the relevant documentation. We need to verify the source of this 10 billion US dollar transfer.”

The head office leader got straight to the point, his eyes full of scrutiny.

Chen Mo wasted no words. He took out a stack of documents from his bag and placed them on the desk:

”It’s all legal income. Here are my transaction records for the past two months, covering both futures and foreign exchange.”

Li Wei, the police officers, and the head office leader crowded around to look. The more they read, the more shocked they became.

In the futures trading records, starting with an initial capital of 5,000 RMB, he first traded sugar futures, opening a position at 6895 and closing at 7300, earning 4,020 yuan;

Next, he traded copper futures, buying long at 58200 and closing at 61500. He made 33,000 yuan per lot, trading a full 20 lots, netting 660,000 yuan;

Later, he traded soybean oil and corn, hitting the precise turning point on every single trade;

In less than a month, his 5,000 yuan had grown to 19.2 million RMB.

Then they looked at the foreign exchange trading records;

1 million US dollars in principal, rotating through the Euro, British Pound, and Japanese Yen;

The opening and closing prices for every trade were perfectly timed at the market’s highest and lowest points, growing to 10 billion US dollars in less than a month.

”This... this is real?”

Police Officer Xiao Zhang’s eyes widened; he couldn’t believe what he was seeing.

”Two months, growing from 5,000 yuan to 10 billion US dollars?”

”Of course, it’s real. The records can be verified by the Futures Exchange, and Citibank also has records of the foreign exchange transaction flow.”

Chen Mo leaned back in his chair, his tone flat, but secretly feeling a bit smug;

After reading so many web novels about showing off in his previous life, it was finally his turn;

This was the confidence that came from his Grandmaster skills;

I, Chen Mo, will reach the pinnacle step by step!

The head office leader picked up the documents, read them several times, and had the technical staff verify the transaction codes. Finally, he let out a long sigh, a smile appearing on his face:

”Mr. Chen, we apologize for making you come down here. After verification, the source of the funds is completely legal!”

The two police officers also stood up and said with a smile:

”Mr. Chen, sorry for the intrusion. We wish you endless wealth!”

They were all muttering to themselves: this young man is too incredible. At 21 years old, he already has 10 billion US dollars, making him richer than the current richest man in Dragon Country—he’s simply heaven’s chosen one!

After everyone left, Li Wei rubbed his hands, his smile becoming even more ingratiating:

”Mr. Chen, how do you plan to manage these 10 billion US dollars? Our bank can offer you the best deposit rates and exclusive wealth management services!”

He was calculating in his mind: as long as this money stays in the bank, this year’s deposit target will be exceeded, and his career path can advance to the next level.

”I’ll just leave it here for now; I don’t have a specific plan yet.”

Chen Mo took a sip of tea and said casually.

10 billion US dollars in cash was enough for him to do anything he wanted. Right now, he just wanted to enjoy life. As for investing, there would be plenty of opportunities later.

Just then, the door to the VIP room was pushed open. A beautiful woman in a bank uniform walked in. She had long hair draped over her shoulders, delicate features, a tall figure, and a proper smile on her face:

”Manager, did you call for me?”

”Xiao Xue, come here quickly!”

Li Wei beckoned her over.

”Let me introduce you. This is Mr. Chen Mo, our bank’s top premium client! From now on, all of Mr. Chen’s business will be handled exclusively by you. Be sure to serve him well!”

As he spoke, he gave the beautiful woman a meaningful look. Wu Xue was a top student who graduated from the University of Finance and Economics, highly capable, and beautiful—she would surely keep Mr. Chen here.

Wu Xue’s heart stirred. She had long heard that a major client had joined the branch, depositing 10 billion US dollars. She hadn’t expected him to be so young and handsome. She quickly extended her hand:

”Hello, Mr. Chen. My name is Wu Xue. I hope you’ll take care of me in the future!”

”Hello.”

Chen Mo gently shook her hand, his fingertip touching her slightly cool skin.

His heart moved slightly. This manager really knew how to handle things, arranging such a beautiful woman to be his exclusive relationship manager.

After a few sentences of small talk, Chen Mo stood up to leave. Wu Xue quickly followed, having changed into a cream-colored dress that accentuated her slender legs in black stockings, making her look even more graceful.

”Mr. Chen, did you drive? Shall I call a car for you?”

Wu Xue asked softly as she watched Chen Mo standing by the roadside.

As long as she served Mr. Chen well, her path to promotion would be smooth.

The manager had privately told her that if this money remained in the bank until the end of the year, she would be promoted to Deputy Director.

”No need, it’s quite convenient to take a taxi.”

Chen Mo smiled.

”I haven’t even gotten my driver’s license yet.”

He had been too busy making money over the past two months to find time to get a license.

”Then, Mr. Chen, let me contact a driving school for you. No need to queue; we can arrange the test directly.”

Wu Xue immediately said. Such a small matter was nothing for the bank.

”Oh? That convenient?”

Chen Mo’s eyes lit up.

”Alright then, let’s do it tomorrow.”

”Great! I’ll arrange it right now!”

Wu Xue immediately took out her phone and made a call, settling it in just a few words.

At that moment, a taxi pulled up. As Chen Mo was about to get in, Wu Xue quickly said:

”Mr. Chen, are you free tonight? I’d like to invite you to dinner, just as a welcome to you becoming a client of our bank.”

Her eyes held anticipation, and she was a little nervous, afraid Chen Mo would refuse.

”Sure, I don’t have anything else to do anyway.”

Chen Mo readily agreed. Being treated by a beauty, why not?

The taxi headed toward the city center mall. The driver glanced at Chen Mo and Wu Xue in the rearview mirror, filled with envy, jealousy, and hatred:

It’s great that this kid is handsome; he actually has such a beautiful woman throwing herself at him. Judging by their clothes, he’s rich too. People really are different; it’s infuriating!

Upon arriving at the mall, Wu Xue led Chen Mo into a Japanese cuisine restaurant. The decor was exquisite and elegant, and the air was filled with the faint aroma of sake.

The two found a window seat and sat down. The waiter brought tea.

Wu Xue looked at Chen Mo across the table, filled with curiosity!

”Mr. Chen, the Wagyu beef here is very famous. Would you like to try some?”

Wu Xue picked up the menu and asked with a smile.

Chen Mo glanced at the menu, smiled, and nodded:

”Anything is fine; I’m not a picky eater.”
