Rebirth: Starting with 10 Billion Us Dollars

4: Chapter 4 From 4S Store to Tomson RivieraChen Mo dismissed the hotel’s Rolls-Royce first.

He opened the door of the bugatti veyron 16.4 and sat in the driver’s seat. The matte silver body shimmered with a cold light under the sun, and the 1001-horsepower engine emitted a low roar at idle. Just listening to it made one’s blood boil.

”Let’s go, Wu Xue.”

Chen Mo turned to look at the passenger seat. Wu Xue was staring blankly at the steering wheel, her eyes filled with an unconcealable sense of awe.

”Ah? Okay!”

Wu Xue snapped out of it and hurriedly buckled her seatbelt, her fingers unconsciously stroking the leather texture of the seat.

”Brother Chen, this car is just too cool! Driving this out will definitely get a 100% head-turning rate!”

”It’s alright.”

Chen Mo smiled and lightly stepped on the gas. The Bugatti smoothly pulled out of the 4S store, showing none of the typical irritability of a supercar, only the composure matching his Grandmaster-level driving skills.

As for the other three cars, he planned to have the store deliver them after he bought a house. For now, driving the Bugatti was enough.

”Brother Chen, where are we going next?”

Wu Xue leaned over, her watery eyes staring straight at him, a hint of subtle flirtatiousness in the corners of her eyes. She was like a completely different person compared to her reserved self this morning.

Chen Mo glanced at her, understanding everything in his heart.

It was nothing more than his extravagance when buying the cars just now that had completely changed her attitude.

The charm of money was indeed the most direct.

”The poor play with cars, the rich play with watches. Now that the car is bought, it’s naturally time to pick out a few watches.”

Chen Mo turned the steering wheel, and the car smoothly merged into the traffic.

”To Patek Philippe, the flagship store in Shanghai.”

Wu Xue’s eyes lit up and she quickly replied:

”Alright, I’ll give them a heads-up so they can receive you properly.”

Half an hour later, the Bugatti came to a steady stop in front of the Patek Philippe boutique on West Nanjing Road.

A middle-aged man in a suit was already standing at the entrance. It was the store manager, Zhou Tao. Behind him were two beautiful female employees in qipaos, their smiles respectfully perfect.

”Mr. Chen, Miss Wu, we’ve been waiting for you!”

Zhou Tao stepped forward quickly. As his gaze swept over the Bugatti, the awe in his eyes deepened.

”Please come inside. Tea has already been prepared in the VIP room.”

The VIP room was decorated in an elegant and grand style, with rosewood furniture and soft lighting. An exquisite tea set was laid out on the table.

As soon as they sat down, an employee served warm Longjing tea, its fragrance filling the air.

”Mr. Chen, I wonder which styles you’d like to see? We have this year’s latest grand complication models, as well as several limited edition collectibles.”

Zhou Tao handed over a heavy catalog, his tone cautious.

”No need for the catalog.”

Chen Mo put down his teacup and said calmly.

”Bring out all the limited editions and grand complication models in your store priced over 1 million. I want the new 2011 models or limited editions from the last three years. Don’t bother with the ordinary ones.”

Zhou Tao’s eyes lit up instantly, and he quickly responded:

”Certainly, Mr. Chen! Please wait a moment, I’ll go get them right away!”

Within a few minutes, Zhou Tao returned with four employees. Each held two velvet gift boxes, a total of eight watches shimmering with a gentle luster under the lights.

”Mr. Chen, look at this one, the Patek Philippe 5204P-001. A grand complication split-seconds chronograph in a platinum case. It features three major complications: moon phase, perpetual calendar, and tourbillon. Limited to 30 pieces worldwide, and this is the only one in the country. It’s priced at 16.8 million.”

”This one is the 5175R-001 in rose gold with an enamel dial. It’s a limited edition commemorating the brand’s 175th anniversary, with only 175 pieces worldwide. Priced at 9.8 million.”

”And this 5975P-001, the Celestial Tourbillon. Platinum case with a sapphire crystal, it can display sidereal time and moon phases. Priced at 12.6 million...”

Zhou Tao introduced them one by one, presenting the certificates of authenticity and customs declarations for each to prove their genuineness and rarity.

Chen Mo tried each watch on his wrist, ignoring the specs and descriptions, relying solely on his personal preference.

”This 5204P, this 5175R, and this 5975P. These other three as well.”

Chen Mo casually picked six watches, covering platinum, rose gold, and white gold materials.

”I’ll take another look at the remaining two.”

Standing nearby, Wu Xue’s heart pounded. A single watch was worth decades of her salary, yet Chen Mo was picking them out like he was buying cabbages, choosing six in one go.

”Wrap these two up as well.”

Chen Mo finally pointed to the last two models:

A 5073P-011 Celestial dial watch (priced at 8.6 million) and a 5270P-001 Chronograph (priced at 6.8 million).

”All eight. Swipe the card.”

Zhou Tao couldn’t stop smiling and quickly sent someone to handle the paperwork:

”Mr. Chen, you’re so generous! We’ll give you two VIP gift cards, each redeemable for a watch under 2 million. We’ll also gift you a ladies’ grand complication watch as a token of our appreciation.”

He swiped the card for payment; the total for the eight watches was exactly 68 million.

Chen Mo took the gift cards and handed the ladies’ watch box from the employee to Wu Xue:

”This is for you, a gift from Manager Zhou.”

Wu Xue took the gift box and opened it. Inside was a Patek Philippe 7140R-001 rose gold ladies’ watch. The dial was set with small diamonds, exquisite and luxurious. The certificate stated a price of 420,000.

Her heart warmed up, and she quickly said:

”Thank you, Brother Chen! And thank you, Manager Zhou!”

”Don’t be so polite. Follow me, and you’ll be well-taken care of.”

Chen Mo put the watches into a special storage case and stood up.

”It’s noon. Let’s find a place to eat.”

”My treat, my treat!”

Wu Xue quickly interjected.

”Brother Chen, I must pay for this meal. Don’t try to stop me!”

She was feeling ecstatic right now. Just the commission from the car purchase this morning was 600,000, plus another 340,000 from the watches, and this 420,000 ladies’ watch—she had earned over a million in a single day, more than she had made in the past few years combined. Treating him to a meal was a no-brainer.

The two found a nearby private kitchen restaurant and finished eating by 2 PM.

Chen Mo checked the time and said:

”Let’s go look at apartments at Tomson Riviera and buy two while we’re at it.”

The tea Wu Xue had just sipped almost sprayed out.

”Brother Chen, two? An apartment at Tomson Riviera costs tens of millions!”

”It’s fine, as long as it’s comfortable to live in.”

Chen Mo dismissed her concern.

The sales team at Tomson Riviera had already been notified by the bank, and the manager personally welcomed them at the entrance.

Chen Mo directly asked for the penthouse duplex, a 1,200-square-meter unit. At 120,000 per square meter, one unit cost 144 million.

”Two units. Both must be fully renovated and move-in ready.”

After viewing the model unit, Chen Mo made his decision on the spot.

”Process the paperwork as quickly as possible. I want to move in tonight.”

The manager’s eyes narrowed into slits from smiling so much.

”Rest assured, Mr. Chen. We will arrange for cleaning immediately to ensure your stay tonight is comfortable!”

He swiped his card for 288 million. Wu Xue received another 288,000 in commission. In a single day, she had gone from a renter to a wealthy woman with a net worth of over two million. Besides shock, her heart was filled with admiration for Chen Mo.

After handling the house matters, Chen Mo drove the Bugatti back to the hotel to pack his bags, preparing to move into Tomson Riviera that night.

Just as he got into the car, his phone rang. It was his college roommate, Zheng Feng.

”Hey, Third, are you still in Shanghai?”

Zheng Feng’s voice sounded a bit excited.

”Yeah, I am. What’s up?”

Chen Mo asked while starting the car.

”It’s Wu Dongju’s birthday the day after tomorrow. We’ve organized a class reunion, and everyone still in Shanghai is invited. Are you coming?”

Chen Mo thought for a moment. In his previous life, he hadn’t gone because of overtime. In this life, he happened to be free and could see his old classmates.

”Sure, send me the address. I’ll be there.”

”Great! We’ll be waiting for you. See you then!”

Zheng Feng hung up the phone, sounding quite happy.
