Chapter 93 - 92: Wrongful Killing! The Death of Chen Pingchuan
Hearing the feminine, mechanical voice, Chen Pingchuan felt a strange sense of unease. It wasn’t that the voice was particularly distinct; most mechanical voices were nearly identical and difficult to differentiate. Rather, it was her words, which were filled with a familiar, Earth-style humor. Could she be a transmigrator from Blue Star, just like me?Even now, racking his brain, Chen Pingchuan couldn’t possibly imagine that this cataclysmic, final-boss-level villain was actually his first love.

Without giving Chen Pingchuan a chance to speak, Xia Qingxue drew the slender, blood-flamed longsword from her waist. As she hovered in the air, her Valkyrie mecha emanated mysterious energy waves. The longsword itself seemed to be charging, emitting the distinct HISS of an electric current.

Chen Pingchuan abandoned his verbal attacks. From the moment she ignored his first words, he knew such petty tricks were useless against someone with a heart of stone. Continuing would only degrade himself. All he could do now was focus his Spirit, sharpen his senses to their peak, and carefully observe her every move, hoping to find an opening.

The standoff between Xia Qingxue and Chen Pingchuan stretched the atmosphere to its breaking point.

As the attacker, Xia Qingxue was naturally the first to move. With a wave of her right arm, a crimson energy wave instantly erupted from her sword. The wave expanded as it shot through the air, eventually igniting into the shape of a colossal blade. Even inside his mecha, Chen Pingchuan could clearly feel its scorching heat.

Unlike his previous defenses, Chen Pingchuan dared not be the least bit careless in the face of such a devastating attack. His brow twitched. Instead of dodging, he raised his greatsword of black flame and spun it, creating a black vortex.

When the crimson greatsword met the black vortex, their reactions were markedly different.

”Damn it!”

The instant his black vortex blocked the crimson greatsword, Chen Pingchuan felt the immense and terrifying power it contained. This thing was clearly far more formidable than he had anticipated.

”Fool!”

Hidden behind her faceplate, a flicker of disdain crossed Xia Qingxue’s face. Her Blood Dawn was not so easily blocked. The attack was named Blood Dawn because no one struck by it ever lived to see the next day’s sun.

Just as she expected, a massive explosion sent Chen Pingchuan flying backward, crashing through several walls.

Seeing Chen Pingchuan injured, Xia Qingxue did not lower her guard. She rose slowly into the air, pinpointing his location from above. Soon, she found him buried under a pile of rubble. Xia Qingxue’s attacks remained brutally simple. She swung her weapon again, and another crimson great blade formed, slicing down toward Chen Pingchuan’s position.

At this moment, Xia Qingxue seemed to possess supreme divine might; each casual strike forced Chen Pingchuan onto the back foot.

And indeed, he was. Feeling himself locked on to, Chen Pingchuan could no longer afford to focus on the pain racking his body. This symbiotic mecha wasn’t some low-level shell; it was directly linked to his physiology. Even though he had turned the pain sensitivity to its lowest setting, it was still excruciating. But he couldn’t spare a thought for the pain now. If he didn’t dodge, he was dead.

Chen Pingchuan immediately used a spatial warp to escape the building. He didn’t get far, however, before Xia Qingxue’s Blood-colored Energy Field trapped him just outside the Mechanical Resistance Army base.

The Blood-colored Energy Field was roughly ten thousand square meters in size and oval-shaped.

Xia Qingxue floated out slowly, like a goddess on earth, bathed in a sacred red light, her divine power seeming infinite. In stark contrast, Chen Pingchuan was covered in dust, cutting a pitiful figure.

”Woman, you’ve enraged me,” Chen Pingchuan roared. ”Today, either you die or I do!”

Her ruthlessness pushed Chen Pingchuan past his breaking point. It had been a long time since he’d been so battered. In fact, outside of the text simulations, this was the first time he had ever experienced such despair firsthand.

”Rage, activate Super Combat Mode!”

In an instant, the battered Chen Pingchuan seemed reborn, his posture straightening once more.

”You’ll be the first woman’s soul to fall by my hand,” he snarled. ”Anger Death Flame Wave!”

His face contorted with fury, Chen Pingchuan tossed aside his longsword. He clasped his hands together, and a powerful wave of energy erupted from his palms, blasting directly toward Xia Qingxue.

”You should have done this from the start, you sewer rat.”

Xia Qingxue’s body began to tremble violently. She didn’t know when she had started to enjoy such extreme combat, but it allowed her to forget everything else. She slowly lowered her head, a faint smile touching her lips as a gleam of madness flashed in her eyes. Then she spread her arms wide, and the surrounding air instantly seemed to freeze. A surge of crimson energy erupted from her hands, forming a massive, blood-red ripple.

The two forces collided. The heavens and earth trembled, and creation itself seemed to come undone. The energy field that had trapped Chen Pingchuan couldn’t withstand the colossal power and shattered instantly. The resulting shockwave even obliterated the nearby members of the Mechanical Legion.

As the cataclysmic exchange of energy subsided, both combatants’ conditions began to falter.

”You’re so damn fierce, you old hag! Have you been a widow for so long you’ve gone crazy with lust?”

Chen Pingchuan resorted to vulgar insults again, realizing he was likely doomed. Even his strongest energy attack hadn’t harmed the woman before him. Now, with space in chaos and teleportation impossible, he was out of options.

Xia Qingxue, who had been composed and cold, was instantly affected. The combination of his words and the influence of his rage-based abilities broke through her composure.

Xia Qingxue roared in fury, ”Insolent cur! I originally intended to grant you a clean death, but I’ve changed my mind. Now, you will be eternally imprisoned in Dark Hell!”

Before Chen Pingchuan could react, Xia Qingxue’s arms drew a circular pattern in the air. Complex, crimson runes materialized, seemingly tearing open the Gate of Hell itself. A torrent of blood-red spears erupted forth, a downpour of destruction that instantly buried Chen Pingchuan in its furious energy. At the heart of the assault, Chen Pingchuan desperately parried with his greatsword; his energy shield had been shattered mercilessly in the prior exchange.

Most importantly, when he heard the words ”Dark Hell,” Chen Pingchuan had a sudden realization: his opponent had to be from the Celestial Palace.

Recalling the Mechanical Warriors he had killed, Chen Pingchuan wanted to slap himself. I’m clearly under the influence of the rage ability, so why hasn’t my mind reached a supercritical state? How could I have overlooked such a vital piece of information?

He tried to communicate with her again, hoping to fish for more information, but his obsidian-black armor was already covered in massive cracks. Wisps of crimson, destructive energy clung to the fractures, preventing the mecha from regenerating.

”Just listen to me! Just one word! Stop for a second!” Chen Pingchuan managed to get the words out between several heavy blows.

But his plea was met with an even more frenzied assault. Xia Qingxue gave him no quarter, her attacks coming like a relentless storm. The rain of crimson spears had just ended. Realizing she couldn’t finish him quickly with ranged attacks, Xia Qingxue switched to close combat. She transformed into a streak of light and shot toward him.

Chen Pingchuan instinctively swung his longsword, unleashing waves of sword light. Xia Qingxue chose to power through them, ignoring the damage he inflicted, determined to land a decisive, fatal blow. And she succeeded. At the cost of taking damage to her own mecha, Xia Qingxue sliced off Chen Pingchuan’s left arm.

”AHHHHH!!!” he screamed. ”THAT HURTS LIKE HELL! You crazy bitch! Who the hell would dare to marry you?! HUH?! TELL ME, WHO?!”

The more Chen Pingchuan screamed, the more ruthless Xia Qingxue’s attacks became. The battle reached a fever pitch as their figures blurred together, each clash of their weapons creating a blinding flash of light. Having lost an arm, Chen Pingchuan was forced into a passive defense. Xia Qingxue, however, was like the wind, relentlessly striking at him from all sides. Her speed was so incredible that he couldn’t mount any effective defense at all.

Soon, Chen Pingchuan reached his limit. The dark energy shrouding him rapidly dissipated, and his mecha began to crumble. In contrast, Xia Qingxue’s Valkyrie radiated with crimson light, its stance proud and unwavering.

With a final strike, Chen Pingchuan, unable to defend himself, was run through the chest by Xia Qingxue’s sword.

With a BANG, Chen Pingchuan collapsed to the ground, uttering his final curse, ”The women in this world... are all fucking insane!”

Xia Qingxue’s expression was cold as she watched the black armor of the warrior before her lose its luster. She felt a flicker of regret that she hadn’t held back and had killed him instantly. Otherwise, she would have made this foul-mouthed enemy truly taste the meaning of an eternity in Dark Hell.

Chen Pingchuan died, but he wasn’t completely dead. Because of his talent, ’Dying with Unresolved Grievances,’ he now found himself in an out-of-body state, able to observe the world after his death from a 360-degree, unobstructed viewpoint.

A minute after his death, as the last trace of his Spirit faded, the symbiotic armor that should have merged back into his body instead collapsed, scattering across the ground as pieces of dark metal. This revealed Chen Pingchuan’s true appearance. His exquisitely handsome face was filled with helplessness, as if death itself wasn’t his primary concern.

After running Chen Pingchuan through, Xia Qingxue had remained motionless nearby, her eyes closed as she savored the post-battle euphoria. Only combat this intense could soothe the anguish in her heart.

A moment later, she emerged from her ethereal state and walked toward Chen Pingchuan’s body. She wanted to see the face of her enemy.

When Xia Qingxue saw his face clearly, she froze, completely stunned.
