Apocalyptic Wasteland Simulator

Chapter 59: Terrifying! The Follower Army of the Holy Spirit Sect
”Slander, defamation...”

”System, don’t mess with me.”

Chen Pingchuan was confused. What did the System mean when it said the timing of the Red Rain’s arrival matched his own plans?

”PTOOEY, PTOOEY, PTOOEY! It wasn’t me! It was that character, my divine self. It has nothing to do with me.”

At this point, Chen Pingchuan was already exhausted. This simulation had not only been long, but its complexity had also surpassed all previous runs. Most importantly, he was overcome by an extremely uncomfortable feeling. Previously, he might have dismissed it as simple physical discomfort, but now Chen Pingchuan knew it was likely his sixth sense giving him a warning.

The scenarios from the simulation can’t possibly play out in reality, right? Or could the characters jump out of the simulator and invade the real world? That would be too ri...

Chen Pingchuan didn’t voice the last word, ”ridiculous.” He decided to end the simulation quickly and take a few days off to rest. Otherwise, his numb brain would continue to spiral into wild fantasies.

[Due to the increased concentration of the Black Demon Potion you used this time, the mutation rate of ordinary people in the Outer City Districts was incredibly fast. In just one month, the number of Black Demons in Kailing Province swelled to tens of millions.]

[Faced with such a massive number of Black Demons, the various factions noticed something was wrong. They all questioned Ji Hongxiu, demanding that she, as the Blood Beast Ban’s director for Kailing Province, solve this enormous problem.]

[Ji Hongxiu’s response was simple and direct. Citing the terms they had initially agreed upon, she refused to take responsibility.]

[Of course, Ji Hongxiu also stated that she would dispatch Beast Tamers to clear out the Black Demons in the Outer City Districts of the various cities. Left with no other choice, these factions had to swallow their losses in silence. What they didn’t know was that this was all part of a plan you and Ji Hongxiu had devised.]

[Over the next year, everything proceeded smoothly according to your initial plan. Significant numbers of parasitic Black Demons were left to roam freely in the Outer City Districts of every city in Kailing Province.]

[Furthermore, with Ji Hongxiu’s help, your pet, Black Demon No. 1, grew considerably. It now stood over ten meters tall, and as its body became enormous, its appearance also underwent a major transformation.]

[Black Demon No. 1’s hide grew darker and glossier, beginning to develop into a carapace, which indicated greater defensive power. In addition, it grew two new auxiliary legs, allowing it to leap tens of meters and move with greater speed. The single scorpion tail on its rump had become two, making it look even more ferocious.]

”King of Black Magic!”

Chen Pingchuan murmured the title. If he remembered correctly, he had successfully evolved into the King of Black Magic when he had parasitized a Black Demon’s body, but that had taken a very, very long time. In this simulation, however, it had only taken a year for Black Demon No. 1 to reach such a stage. It was proof that having the backing of a major power was worlds apart from being a lone wolf.

[While the Black Demon’s growth was certainly gratifying, your gains in other areas were not to be underestimated. The number of subordinates with seventh-level power that you parasitized and subdued was climbing rapidly.]

[In terms of Parasitic Seeds, aside from the ordinary ones, you hatched more than fifty of the purple variety alone.]

[Normally, it would be impossible for you to recover your own attributes so quickly within just a year. The reason, it turned out, was Ji Hongxiu. During an instance of unplanned intimacy, you discovered that the recovery speed of your attributes was accelerating.]

[Using this vast number of Parasitic Seeds, you successfully ambushed the City Lords of multiple factions. Now, those under your command included not only the Blood Beast Ban’s Seventh-Level Union Realm Beast Tamers but also Genetic Superpower Users from the New Sequence Group and other experts with seventh-level combat power from various forces.]

[Because the seventh level is a major watershed, many factions would assign newly advanced seventh-level experts to guard their cities. As a result, the territory you secretly controlled now covered more than half of Kailing Province.]

[Most importantly, the Holy Spirit Sect was no longer the fledgling religion it once was with only a handful of members. After a period of development and expansion, it had become a behemoth in Kailing Province. Of course, Ji Hongxiu played a tremendous role in this.]

[Ji Hongxiu, an all-around talent with both formidable combat strength and astonishing management skills, had been recruited to your side by sheer chance.]

[In terms of management, Ji Hongxiu organized, expanded upon, and perfected your explanations of the Holy Spirit Sect’s doctrines. Based on these doctrines, she established the sect’s various institutions and positions. Most importantly, she cemented your status as the supreme Spirit God within the Holy Spirit Sect.]

[In military affairs, Ji Hongxiu also demonstrated her astounding talent. By categorizing and reorganizing your chaotic swarm of followers, she quickly forged them into the Holy Spirit Sect’s own army of believers. This army included the Divine Attendant Department’s internal guards, the Combat Department’s field operatives, and the Supply Department for logistics.]

[While the Holy Spirit Sect thrived in Kailing Province, you, its Spirit God, remained hidden behind the scenes. Adhering to the principle of quietly amassing great wealth, you had no intention of stepping into the spotlight. You only wanted to be the mastermind pulling the strings.]

Chen Pingchuan stood up and stretched his stiff neck. He then slowly walked over to Black Demon No. 1. Ignoring its bewildered gaze and protests, he hugged its neck tightly, whispering, ”I never imagined we could become this badass in the future. It was me holding you back.”

”Hahahaha...”

Despite the initial sadness, Chen Pingchuan suddenly burst into hearty laughter.

[Just as you were joyfully immersing yourself in your achievements, Ji Hongxiu brought you bad news.]

[The top-tier super-faction on the distant coastline, Celestial Palace No. 1, had unexpectedly sent her a message, ordering her to hand over a man named Chen Pingchuan.]

[Ji Hongxiu didn’t try to lie her way out of it. The fact that they sent the message meant they already had sufficient proof that Chen Pingchuan was indeed with her.]

[Ji Hongxiu felt at a loss. Although she was now a top-tier expert at the Eighth-Level Divine Transformation Realm, she lost her composure whenever matters concerned you.]

[You patiently reassured Ji Hongxiu, explaining that this battle was inevitable; it had merely arrived sooner than expected. You told her to recall all combat personnel and prepare for a great war.]

[Seven days later, Spirit Beast Island was no longer the tranquil island it once was. It was now teeming with a dense crowd of people, various beasts, Black Demons, and other creatures.]

[Standing atop the high tower on Spirit Beast Island, you gazed down. The once white-and-green island had turned black-and-green. In the base below, there were over a hundred thousand Holy Spirit Sect followers, all dressed in white robes emblazoned with a green leaf.]

[Among these Holy Spirit Sect followers were Beast Tamers from the Blood Beast Ban, Genetic Warriors from various Inner City Districts, large yet somewhat simple-minded Mountain People, Blue Race Mechanicians skilled in building machinery, Gu Race warriors adept at cultivating Gu insects, and many others.]
