Apocalyptic Wasteland Simulator

Chapter 55: Fall! Fatal Training
[On the second day, Elder Ye Hu felt somewhat bored. She had already prepared for the worst in her heart. At most, I’ll just anger the Demon King, and it will cost me my life—nothing more. Yet throughout the entire day, you did not appear in the interrogation room.]

[Due to the lack of food in her stomach, the effects of the injected serum were alleviated. However, the foul smell lingered in the interrogation room, refusing to dissipate. Elder Ye Hu had grown accustomed to the surrounding odor, which made it much more bearable.]

[On the third day, you still did not appear in the interrogation room. The three-day efficacy period of the drug passed, and Elder Ye Hu’s stomach began to protest. She was hungry.]

[On the fourth day, you entered the interrogation room with a delicate, small portion of gourmet food. Upon seeing you, Elder Ye Hu’s eyes filled with hatred as she hysterically cursed you, ”If you have the guts, kill me! Otherwise, when I get out of here, I won’t let you off!”]

[Furthermore, Elder Ye Hu knocked the food you offered to the ground. She no longer covered her body and incessantly threatened and cursed, stating that her Fox Race would definitely notice something was amiss here, and by then, you would die without a burial place.]

[You remained indifferent and calm in the face of Elder Ye Hu’s words. You switched off all the lights in the interrogation room, leaving only a single, dim yellow lamp before turning to leave.]

As the black pen continuously recorded the simulation’s events in his diary, Chen Pingchuan’s expression grew grave. A powerful sense of oppression shadowed him, making him feel as though he were suffocating under the pressure of his divine self.

Initially, he had resented Elder Ye Hu for her lack of fortitude, but now, upon reflection, he realized things were not as simple as they appeared on the surface.

The depth of his divine self’s schemes and the meticulousness of its plans terrified him. Fortunately, the simulator’s hints indicated they were one and the same entity, with him in the dominant position. This allowed Chen Pingchuan to let out a few quiet sighs of relief.

[On the fifth day, you still didn’t go to the interrogation room. Elder Ye Hu’s mental state began to show abnormalities. She didn’t know what illness she had, yet she started to look forward to your arrival.]

[On the sixth day, you appeared in the interrogation room, but this time you held no food. Seeing the licked-clean plate on the ground, you didn’t mock her. Instead, you offered a warm smile to Elder Ye Hu, who was biting her red lips.]

[You approached her again and gently touched her soft, small beast ears. This time, Elder Ye Hu didn’t resist. She wanted to say something but didn’t know how to begin.]

[You expressed satisfaction with Elder Ye Hu’s attitude. You placed a small video player near her and said softly, ”You must have been bored these past few days. I found some short videos about nature for you. You can watch them when you have nothing to do.”]

[You left without a backward glance, under Elder Ye Hu’s expectant gaze. She watched the images on the player—primitive scenes of animal survival and reproduction—as they were branded into her mind.]

[Elder Ye Hu blushed and looked away. I would rather die of boredom than watch such trashy videos, she secretly vowed.]

[On the seventh day, Blood Beast Ban Headquarters sent a message inquiring about Elder Ye Hu’s situation. You were prepared for this and instructed Elder Ye Hu’s attendants to claim she had contracted an unknown virus and was recuperating, making her unable to respond to her superiors.]

[Obviously, this excuse aroused the suspicions of the headquarters liaison. After all, Elder Ye Hu was a Level Seven Integration Realm master; it would be unreasonable for her to fall ill while her attendants remained unaffected.]

[Although the liaison harbored doubts, he saw that all of Elder Ye Hu’s attendants were present and that Major General Hu was there to corroborate the story. In the end, he reluctantly chose to believe it.]

[Moreover, you thoughtfully prepared a blood sample of Black Demon No. 1 and some basic test data for the headquarters. You informed the liaison that to avoid spreading the virus, you would send the materials directly back to their base via drone.]

[As for this unknown virus, Major General Hu provided a brief explanation, stating that the situation here could be effectively controlled within three months. At that time, he would return to the headquarters with Elder Ye Hu to resume their duties.]

[Half a day later, the headquarters approved your plan.]

Chen Pingchuan’s mind raced with speculation. How could Blood Beast Ban Headquarters be so easily deceived? Based on plots from novels he’d read in his past life, he began to form a few tentative ideas.

Elder Ye Hu’s attendants... they must be the death troopers she mentioned, cultivated by the Fox Race. Ordinarily, these death troopers would choose death over betrayal. However, his divine self in the simulation unexpectedly possessed a dark-purple aptitude for mind control. It was enough to make all these death troopers betray her, even though they were physically unharmed. Who would believe something so absurd without seeing it with their own eyes?

[On the eighth day, when you entered the interrogation room, Elder Ye Hu was already feeble and slumped on the ground, listlessly staring at the images on the player. Because the chains connecting her shackles were too short, she could only sleep sitting up. Her mental state had deteriorated to an extreme degree.]

[Upon seeing you, she tearfully begged you to let her go, promising she would do anything you wanted. She couldn’t continue like this any longer. You, unbothered by the smell clinging to her, pulled her firmly into your embrace. Her body stiffened for a moment before she wrapped her arms tightly around your neck.]

[The two of you were closer than was safe. At this moment, with just a bit of force, she could have easily snapped your neck. She hesitated for a moment, but ultimately chose not to. What Elder Ye Hu failed to notice was the slight smile that played on your lips the moment she gave up.]

[Early on the ninth day, you brought a generous amount of food to Elder Ye Hu. She no longer tried to cover her body, instead ravenously devouring the meal. You gently smoothed her tangled, slightly curly hair.]

[You stayed with her in the interrogation room for the entire day. You watched the animal world together, shared the same meal, and chatted. She began to tell you about her past, and you learned her name: Ji Hongxiu.]

[You started to instill your ideology in her—the notion of humanity’s sin—and you also inadvertently disclosed your identity as a reborn Divine Spirit.]

[Ji Hongxiu’s last line of defense was completely shattered. She couldn’t accept being toyed with by an ordinary person. However, if that person was a god, then everything suddenly seemed to make sense.]

[Without any mental preparation, Ji Hongxiu readily accepted the fact that she had become a captive.]

[The revised doctrine of the Holy Spirit Sect fascinated Ji Hongxiu, captivating her completely. As night quietly descended, she fell asleep, her head unknowingly coming to rest on your knee.]
