Super Electric Eel Avatar

25 First Deal
”No, you have to help whether you like it or not!” Xie Xiaoya was anxious. It was not easy for her to find hope, how could she let it go just like that? Chen Fan did not say anything, but his expression was a little stiff.

”I’m begging you.” Xie Xiaoya softened her tone. ”I promise the people with you will never divulge secrets!”

”No. It’s either your people don’t go or we drop it.” Chen Fan rubbed his face, ”You find out how many firearms there are exactly, and I guarantee I’ll send them over.”

”That won’t do. Firearms are dangerous. We need to have someone present!”

Chen Fan laughed, ”So what if you have someone present? He won’t be able to go underwater with us. If I really wanted keep them for myself, I could just bring up a portion and go back again another time.”

Xie Xiaoya knitted her brows and thought for a while, ”Let me call my superiors and see what they say.”

When Xie Xiaoya went out to make the phone call, Yu Lin quickly chimed in, ”Boss, let us in on the secret. Do you really have a way to salvage stuff 200 meters underwater? Wouldn’t we have to close down if we cheat the police?”

”Boss, I’m sure you have a way!” Zhang Lele did not want the company to close down. It wasn’t easy to find such a relaxing job.

”But are you sure?” Yiteng Yun was also worried. He needed money. Otherwise he wouldn’t have looked for a job. He was a nerd who could stay at home for a whole month.

”Would I start a company if I’m not confident?” Chen Fan snorted, ”I can make a trip easily even if it is five hundred meters down, not to mention two hundred meters!”

Zhang Lele giggled and stuck out her little tongue. ”Boss, stop exaggerating!”

”Wow. I guess you’re really amazing.” Yu Lin still seemed unsure. After a while, Xie Xiaoya pushed open the door and came back in. It was impossible to tell how she was feeling. They didn’t know if they could earn the 50,000 RMB.

Xie Xiaoya sounded hesitant, ”Our bureau chief has agreed, but we won’t pay until after you salvage them.”

”What’s the exact location? How many firearms in total?”

”Xianqiao Bay area. We have comrades from the marine police department on guard there, so you won’t have to worry about getting the location wrong. According to our information, there are 50 identical single-barreled shotguns and 1,000 shotgun cartridges. Our bureau chief said that we don’t have to be around during the salvage process, but you have to ensure the accuracy of the numbers. If you find the numbers to be incorrect, you have to call for us immediately and stay put there.

”Oh, one more thing. Our bureau chief needs you to register at the police station later!” Xie Xiaoya added. It was natural for them to be so cautious. This matter was very complicated. The police scuba team could only go down one hundred meters, but that sea there was two hundred meters deep.

The archaeological team had the ability to dive that deep but could not be bothered with them. The Liberation Army’s scuba special forces unit could also dive to that location, but they were even harder to get help from. They were a highly confidential team, with no contact information. It would be impossible to get them to help.

Since the police had caught and interrogated a suspect, they had to get moving on this case. They could only hold the man for 15 days. It was lucky that Chen Fan’s company had appeared before them. They decided to give it a try. Normal people were afraid of fake companies, but there was no reason for the police to be afraid of them. Their only worry was Chen Fan stealing the guns.

Anyway, it was useless for them to worry about this. Like what Chen Fan said, if he really wanted to keep the stuff for himself, he could simply leave a few behind and go back for them later. The police had no one who was able to dive that deep anyway. Under such circumstances, they had no choice but to grant Chen Fan’s request. Then again, if they discovered Chen Fan guilty of stealing, they could just arrest him.

”You’re not making it easy to earn this 50,000 RMB!” Chen Fan rubbed his head. ”Can I just let you hold on to my ID?”

”Sure.” Xie Xiaoya nodded indifferently.

”Hmm. Yu Lin, bring her to fill in the forms!”

----------

The next morning at about nine o’clock, Chen Fan rented a worn-out single-blade speedboat for 200 RMB and headed toward the location he’d been given. Driving a speedboat was like playing with a toy car for kids who lived by the coast. Chen Fan could drive a speedboat when he was still in elementary school. As he approached the meeting place, Chen Fan could see a small boat moored there.

”You were sent by the police to get the guns?” shouted a young man excitedly. He wore a maritime police uniform.

Chen Fan patted the diving equipment he had just bought and said in a low muffled voice, ”Yes. This the location?”

”Yes, yes, you’re finally here. You’re my savior; I’ve been here for two days and I’m bored to death.” The young man was likely a newbie to have gotten this rough assignment. ”Please proceed with your work. Call me at this number when you’re done and I’ll come look for you.” The young man waited for Chen Fan to take down the number before escaping from his post in his speedboat.

”Seems like it’s indeed been very boring for him for the past two days!” Chen Fan chuckled. After the man left, Chen Fan did not bother touching the second hand diving equipment he got for 800 RMB. Instead, he just laid down in the boat and shifted his thoughts to the electric eel.

The eel was still at the same old place. Except for hunting, Chen Fan let it stay in the shallow seas where it was safe. Even the electric eel had its own electromagnetic warning system, it always pays to play it safe.

It had been another three days since the claws were grafted, and Chen Fan had not stopped stimulating the eel’s pituitary gland. The eel had grown to almost nine meters, and the four small claws also seemed to be growing, if slowly. All creatures can assimilate. After being separated from the original body’s color cells and mesothelial cells, the four claws had changed a lot on the electric eel’s body. The previously green skin had become darker and was turning black. Even the scales on the surface had become finer and smoother, like the soft scales on a snake belly. They were dark green and looked very pretty.

During the grafting process, Chen Fan had not thought of joining the eel’s blood vessels and nerve branches, and neither did he have the ability to do such a highly technical task. If it had been a normal creature, the graft would likely be a useless adornment even if the body did not reject the tissue. But the eel’s weak electric current acted like high-energy chemical fertilizers. The capillaries and nerve fibers on both sides healed at an insane speed, and the connecting points two strengthened.

The electric eel avatar now looked a little funny, like a chubby lizard. After spending half an hour to stimulate growth, Chen Fan made the eel swim to the bottom of the boat and then down deeper into the sea. The water pressure at two hundred meters was not a problem for Chen Fan’s avatar now. He was confident he could get all the way way to 600 meters.

At the seafloor, Chen Fan made the eel discharge 2,000 volts, extending 80 meters underwater. Electromagnetic induction was more useful than eyes on the uneven seabed. The electric eel was a terrifying killing machine, electrocuting any fish that went near it. Even the fish some distance away moved their tails in fear, escaping from this death zone.
