Chapter 807: Conversation With a Pill Monarch [Bonus]

”So, who are you, Kent? What is your story?” Pill Monarch Nefeli asked.

I guess that was one way of asking me to tell you everything about me. Kent smiled in his head and chose to answer to the best of his abilities.

”I am Kent, as you already know. Of course, my full name is Kent Madson. I am a human from a world called Sonox. Although I just said it, I don’t think you’ll know it because it’s quite a distance away.

I started walking the path of Alchemy about three years ago. Aside from that, I am also a swordsman, which I know you already know, for a swordsman recognizes one.”

Kent smiled.

Pill Monarch Nefeli also smiled.

Kent could see it.

The calm and nurturing aura is from her Alchemy side. The woman sitting not far from him is, in fact, a Sword Emperor, and judging by her aura, she was a terrifying one.

”You are sharp, I will give you that. But if you don’t mind me asking, this world you are from, how far away is it?”

Kent thought for a moment, just to put on the appearance of trying to figure out the answer. After a few moments, he shook his head.𝓯𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶

”Can’t say I can tell. Of course, I will try to look for this world when I go back.”

”Oh, you didn’t come here by design?” Pill Monarch Nefeli raised her eyebrow.

”Something like that. One moment, I was walking down a hill; the next moment, I found myself here. Of course, I have a feeling I will either be here for a while or might vanish like I came any moment from now.”

”I see. I suppose it’s complicated in a way, but it makes sense. I know you are a human like me, but also not like me. I am a wood human, and there are others out there like the Flame Human who won the duel.

You, on the other hand, aren’t like us. You are just human, not related to any of the eight principal elements. This means you really aren’t from this world or any of the pill worlds.”

”I guess you can say that,” Kent nodded to her deduction. It was spot on, and that alone explained why he wouldn’t have to do so many things anymore.

”So you can vanish any moment, huh? That is such a disappointment. Who knows when that will happen?”

Kent smiled. ”I might not vanish anytime soon since I don’t know how any of this works, so we might as well have a conversation that will stick with us even if I were to vanish away one of these days or in a few hours.”

”I suppose if you put it this way, things do come into perspective. In that case, do you want to join the Pyris Pill Alliance? I know you are a Pill Grandmaster, but I saw how you observed the two Pill Kings during the duel.

You knew more than you let on, and that alone is more than reason enough for me to want you to join this alliance. You are someone worthy of joining the Alliance.

So, what do you say, Kent?

Kent thought for a moment and then smiled. ”I don’t mind joining the Alliance. However, what if I were to vanish and not return for hundreds of thousands of years? What then would happen to my status?”

”Your status as a member will remain intact no matter how many years pass, so don’t worry about that. However, you must at least improve your Pill Path to the Saint stage before making everyone aware of your status in the alliance.

Aside from that, you should also participate in a duel or two if you have time on your hands.”

Kent nodded.

Pill Monarch Nefeli smiled and took out a scroll, unfurling it in front of Kent. ”Drop your blood on it.” Kent followed the process and dropped his blood on it.

The moment his blood touched the scroll, his name and current grade in the Pill Path appeared on it for a few seconds before it vanished.

The scroll vanished, and in its place was a token.

”That is your identity and membership badge. It works everywhere you go, and if you were to find yourself in a world affiliated with this alliance or the other ten pill worlds, it will glow.

You can use it to move around easily. Also, the markings on it indicate your rank in the alliance. So far, you are a mere member.”

”How can I raise the ranking?”

”Simple: challenge disciples from other Pill Worlds and win. The more you spread the good name of the Pyris Pill Alliance, the higher your rank will soar.

Of course, there are other ways to push your ranking, but so far, this is the only method you need to know.

The ranks that follow are: Senior Member, Elder, Scholar, General, Commander, and Magnus.”

”I see. I guess I will handle this badge with care and make sure I raise my rank much higher.”

”You should strive for a higher ranking, because the higher you rise, the more perks you will receive, and the more perks you receive, the faster your growth.”

Kent took her words in with a thoughtful expression. The likelihood that he would use the badge was low, considering where he was going back to.

Of course, there was the part where he would have actually taken the thing back to the future. It sounded corny, but he was merely dreaming, so taking anything back was less likely.

”Now, I will tell you something small about the Grand Pill Tablet, and you can figure out the rest. From what I know, the Grand Pill Tablet is a Supreme Item that holds the knowledge of Alchemy.

It contains everything there is to know, and whatever you ask it, it will respond with a solution. I have interacted with it on multiple occasions, and I can say it is the perfect tool for a young Alchemist such as you.”

”It’s indeed a valuable item. I guess I will have a great time interacting with it,” Kent said, already planning the things he would ask the Grand Pill Tablet when he got time with it.

”Unfortunately, you can only ask one question. After that, you have to wait 100 years before you can ask the next question.

Everyone must wait one full year to ask a question. But trust me, it is an invaluable item because the answer it gives is what you need.

Perhaps if all the broken parts are assembled, one could have more time to ask multiple questions.”

Kent nodded.

”So what does one usually have to do to get time with the tablet?” Kent asked, and Pill Monarch Nefeli smiled.

”To get another chance to view the tablet, you must contribute greatly to the Alliance. Say you managed to defeat an alchemist of higher standing in the other pill alliances; that will boost your ranking and also reward you.

In most cases, adding to the alliance’s collection is perhaps the fastest way to gain access to the tablet.”

Kent smiled. ”And I suppose if I were to add items in my name but want the reward to be given to someone else, would that be allowed?”

”I suppose that can be allowed.” Kent’s smile bloomed.

”In that case, I would like to add 20 Soul-type pill recipes to the alliance collection, and the reward should be given to Pill Sage Suoh.”

Pill Monarch Nefeli’s eyes widened upon hearing Kent’s words.
