Brother Dao Took the Entertainment Industry by Storm, Fans Beg Me Not to Kill Anymore

Chapter 965: Robots Performing Magic, Robots Fighting... Choose for Yourself

”Is your show really over like this?”

After he stepped off the stage, people from several other programs came over, their faces full of curiosity and doubt.

Most of them knew Xiao He and had worked with him before, but this time, they were all assigned to different programs for the Spring Festival Gala.

If itʼs just a singing competition, then itʼs a pretty easy job.

But if they were assigned to a language-based program like Xiao He and others, it would be a real headache.

The Spring Festival Gala already has a lot of advantages, but this year we have Director Zhang who relies entirely on intuition.

Clearly, Director Zhang Qiʼs ingenious ideas not only gave Xiao He and his team a headache, but also puzzled everyone else.

Whenever this topic comes up, people canʼt help but sigh that this world is indeed a huge makeshift operation.

But now—

”No, so you actually brought the robot magic trick that Director Zhang mentioned?”

Xie Jingshi looked at Xiao He with disbelief on his face.

”Yeah, it barely meets the standard.”

Xiao He smiled and shrugged.

Several other actors I knew were also amazed, saying, ”Wow, Xiao He, your company is already this amazing! You even have these kinds of tech products!”

Many people only know that Xiao He opened a technology company and is focusing on developing AI-related software, but they are not very clear about the specific research and development products of this technology company.

So when people saw the robotic arm behind Xiao He, they subconsciously assumed that it was also a masterpiece of Xiao Heʼs company.

“No, no, our company isn’t at that level yet.” Xiao He waved his hand. “It’s a product from Fusheng Technology, but our two companies happen to have a collaboration, so we’re just borrowing it.”

”I see--”

Everyone crowded around to examine the robotic arm.

Surprisingly, although this mechanical arm was originally designed to be a realistic prosthetic to fill the gaps in the lives of people with disabilities, the mechanical device that is now prepared to appear on the Spring Festival Gala has deviated from the realistic effect. The overall paint job is a bright dark black, and the relationship between the mechanical shaft and parts is highlighted by fluorescent highlights, making it look particularly mysterious and restrained, with a kind of incomplete beauty of mecha.

”I have to say, heʼs really handsome!”

Xie Jingshi praised.

”Yes, I originally thought that just a mechanical arm would look very abrupt and strange, but I didnʼt expect the physical body to look so cool, just like a mecha.”

Another person said the same thing.

”Why not consider linking this arm directly to the robot?”

Then someone else made a suggestion.

”Thereʼs no time to lose.”

Xiao He explained with considerable regret.

A large crowd had gathered here. Shu Han also came over from the other side after hearing the news. Looking at Xiao Heʼs achievements, his eyes were filled with envy: ”This makes me a little regretful. I should have come to your program.”

He was also at this yearʼs Spring Festival Gala, but unlike Xiao He and the others, Shu Han participated in a martial arts performance.

Yes, it was during this time that the older generation of martial arts stars emerged.

It would be even better if it werenʼt for boxing with robots.

Shu Han was laughing at his neighbor for leading a group of robots in boxing last year, but now itʼs his turn this year.

The thought of having to compete with a group of robots in front of the entire nation gave Shu Han a headache.

Upon seeing Shu Han, Xiao He immediately thought of the otherʼs performance and couldnʼt help but pat his chest, saying with great relief, ”Luckily, I ran fast and was pulled away by Teacher Ge, otherwise we would have become brothers in misfortune.”

According to the program schedule, Shu Hanʼs performance was scheduled right after the magic show.

Thinking about it this way, their promotion of ”Time and Space Standoff” had a direct and maximum effect.

Xiao Heʼs use of a mechanical arm to perform magic tricks corresponds to the villainous robot in the ”Time Confrontation” lineup, exploring the possibility of mechanical prosthetics upgrading the human body.

Shu Hanʼs fight against robots in the martial arts performance corresponds to the human lineup, exploring the ultimate relationship between robots and humans.

Seriously, such fitting promotional content was presented in two programs in a row; you couldnʼt find a third one like it throughout the entire Spring Festival Gala.

If Xiao He and his team hadnʼt taken Director Zhang Qiʼs advice and come up with this mechanical arm, people would probably have thought that their ”Time-Traveling Confrontation” publicity team had forced their way onto the Spring Festival Gala to promote their film.

Itʼs actually kind of funny.

Xiao He even expressed his regret: ”Your show is scheduled after ours, so Iʼm afraid we wonʼt be able to see Brother Shu Han battle the robots on stage. Iʼm really disappointed about that.”

Shu Han: ”...What are you regretting?”

I donʼt want to know at all.

...

February arrived in the blink of an eye.

The major films scheduled for the Spring Festival season have been officially confirmed, and the pre-release publicity and media battle is gradually becoming clear.

As the only science fiction film in the Spring Festival lineup, ”Time Standoff” successfully fought its way out of a crowd of movies and became the most anticipated film in February.

Clearly, the opponentʼs previous strategy was a complete failure.

They ganged up on director He Jinnian, trying to use his blank resume as a new director to lead the audience to abandon the film. However, the powerful combination of Shu Han and Xiao He was already very strong, making it hard not to be tempted.

Itʼs already a miracle that Linghui Entertainment was able to gather these two cash cows in one go, all thanks to the same agent who connected them. And the person who managed to put them in the same project is a complete genius.

Whether itʼs their looks, past experiences, or their own abilities, these two together make for a powerful combination.

”Let me put it this way: this film, ʼTime Standoff,ʼ is either a masterpiece or a terrible flop—because judging from the current trend of public opinion on the internet, this is an inevitable outcome. People who like it will definitely like it, and people who hate it will definitely criticize it without reservation... This can be considered a distorted state of the current domestic film market.”

Tiger, wearing a hood, spoke very frankly in the video.

”However, no matter what, as a fan of Xiao He for so many years, I will definitely go to the cinema to support him.”

”And aside from the slight worry that the movie might flop, I feel more of an expectation.”

“In recent years, there have indeed been some good domestic science fiction films. Special effects and teams are no longer our industry pain points. Moreover, with the development of the times, post-production will become more and more efficient. So why can’t the next domestic box office miracle be ‘Time and Space Standoff’?”

”At the same time, I also discovered some strange things.”

Tiger pulled up the data behind him and showed it to everyone. ”Compared to the mixed feedback from our domestic publicity, the overseas promotion of ʼTime Confrontationʼ has been exceptionally smooth, far exceeding the difficulties that domestic works have faced when going abroad in the past.”

“I made a special observation and found that the publicity efforts abroad are no less than those in China. Currently, ‘Time Standoff’ is also one of the hot topics on various overseas platforms, with topics such as machinery and mecha gradually rising, far exceeding the publicity of other Hollywood films at the same time... This is the first time I have seen such a situation.”

”And the source of this publicity wasnʼt just Douyin (TikTok), but also the largest overseas video platform website—”
