Brother Dao Took the Entertainment Industry by Storm, Fans Beg Me Not to Kill Anymore

Chapter 352: Criminals in the Shadows (2)

After a short while, the person struggling in his hands gradually stopped moving.

But Xiao He had no intention of killing;he loosened the restraint at the crucial moment between life and death.

”Huff, huff—”

The Cleaner immediately went limp on the floor, gasping heavily, no longer able to resist.

Xiao He looked down at the person on the ground from above and couldnʼt help a cold sneer.

The blood-soaked smell on this cleaner was even stronger than that on Brother Hong on the floor. Judging by her practiced skill at slipping hands into pockets, it seemed she was the one who did the ”finishing” when certain people were disposed of.

Good.

Each one worse than the last.

A rising surge of killing intent swelled in Xiao Heʼs chest;even his fingers trembled with a nervous excitement, as if long-buried genes were ravenously clamoring for bloodshed. Yet in the end he only balling up the plastic bag in his hand and shoved it into his coat pocket.

Brother Hong, who had been crippled of most of his fighting ability from the start, clutched his agonized chest and shakily looked up at the mysterious newcomer, gasping in pain and trembling as he asked, ”W-we can talk. Which gang are you from, brother? We didnʼt offend you, did we?”
Xiao Heʼs fighting style was raw and eclectic—he had learned a bit of everything, nothing like the trained methods of organized supporters.

Brother Hong was certain by now they had run into one of the Opponent teams.

But the man in front of him merely tilted his head slightly without answering. His aura remained terrifyingly cold, and most of his lower body was concealed in shadow, as if a murderous spirit had drifted in from some ghostly realm.

Brother Hongʼs heart pounded.

When did they offend such a killing god?

Judging by that murderous aura, there couldnʼt be many lives to his name, he thought, unwilling to believe otherwise.

Who was he? When had this happened? Was it someone from their side trying to kick them while they were down?

The man only walked over in silence and picked up the small knife on the ground.

When he grabbed the knife, Xiao He deliberately suppressed the urge to show off and play with blade tricks.

He planned to display those skills on the big screen later;he wasnʼt about to give these people a free preview.

So Xiao He tossed the knife backward, sending it under the truck parked behind them to prevent the two from using any more dangerous weapons.

Then he lifted his foot and precisely kicked both of Brother Hongʼs legs, breaking them.

”Ahhh, fuck!”

Brother Hong was stunned and wronged at once, covering his chest with one hand and holding his legs with the other, sobbing, ”Brother, I was wrong, donʼt kill me.”

What had he done to provoke this killing god? He had done nothing the whole time—he had only taken beatings!

Fortunately Xiao He was impartial;he turned and twisted the Cleaner’s hands until they were broken, preventing further harm.

Finally Xiao He rummaged through the cleaning cart’s supplies and indeed found some cable ties.

He bound both of them.

Brother Hong on the ground had been terrified by Xiao Heʼs brutality, curling up and trembling, not daring to raise even a spark of resistance. The Cleaner, who had been fierce to the end, tried to fight back again while Xiao He bound her legs, but Xiao He, anticipating this, mercilessly kicked and shattered one of her leg bones.

That kick targeted the knee without an ounce of mercy. The Cleaner let out a harrowing scream and lost the capacity to resist.

Brother Hong did not even dare to take a breath, afraid Xiao He would plant another kick in him.

The next moment, the man whose face could barely be seen turned his head and looked at him.

Even though the black hood hid his eyes and he said nothing, Brother Hong inexplicably understood the message in his gaze—”Want to try?”

Brother Hong quickly shook his head and showed a blood-smeared, ingratiating smile, ”Brother, I wonʼt move. You go on, you go on.”

What a laugh—if his hands had been broken too, he wouldnʼt even be able to cover his wounds.

With his face planted on the ground, several teeth missing, one eye swollen shut, suspected chest fracture, and both legs broken, Brother Hong was obedient—almost obedient to the point of being docile.

Xiao He looked at his handiwork with satisfaction and avoided looking at Zhou Junhao to prevent exposing any unnecessary clues. He fished the truck keys out of Brother Hongʼs pockets and climbed into the small warehouse truck.

The engine started and the blinding headlights instantly lit up the entire warehouse.

Brother Hong on the ground screamed, thinking Xiao He was about to give them a full ”bad luck” package. Suddenly every pain seemed to vanish;even his limbs regained strength and he scrambled wildly on the floor, begging for mercy.

Even the Cleaner, who had sworn stubborn resistance, was frightened and crawled weakly.

However, the truck roared and sped toward the two on the ground at incredible speed.

”Ahhhh—”

Seeing the headlights bearing down on them, both screamed in terror;the dazzling light nearly blinded them, as if they had entered another world—

What they didnʼt see was that just as the truck was about to roll over them, the steering wheel turned, the vehicle brushed past them, and with maximum horsepower crashed into the wall behind them.

At the instant before the truck and the wall met, a black silhouette moved quickly, leapt out of the driver’s seat, and dove into the adjacent shadow, disappearing completely. The truck then smashed into the wall with a deafening explosion.

—Boom!!

In the quiet night, almost everyone heard the sound.

Hotel room lights that had gone out flicked on, one by one. People who had been sleeping were startled awake, alert and peering around.

This night was destined to be sleepless!

...

”Knock, knock, knock—Xiao Ge! Xiao Ge, somethingʼs wrong!”

”Knock, knock, knock—”

A young man with messy hair and sleepy eyes opened his door, rubbing his eyes in annoyance as he yawned and lazily asked, ”What is it?”

”Xiao Ge, there was a very serious car accident inside the hotel just now!” Xiao Chen said anxiously, ”The police have blocked off the hotel and wonʼt let anyone in or out. I heard theyʼre going to come around to take statements!”

Xiao He: Although I did it, that description sounds so weird—there was a car accident in the hotel...

”...what do you mean by that?”

”Oh, thereʼs a warehouse behind the hotel where they do logistics. The hotel’s supplies are normally transported there and vehicles park there. I donʼt know what happened, but a truck parked in that warehouse suddenly started and crashed through a wall!”

Xiao Chen exaggerated, ”It seems like something was hidden behind that wall! I heard from the neighboring crew that there were reportedly several corpses hidden behind the wall!”

Xiao He: …Is that the power of rumor starting from another rumor?

How did a perfectly normal secret passage entrance get turned into this by you people!

”Well, let them handle it.”

Xiao He said indifferently.

”Xiao Ge, this is serious. Iʼve never seen more than ten police cars show up!” Xiao Chen said as he led Xiao He to the window.

Sure enough, the courtyard below was already filled with police cars. The flashing red and blue lights nearly illuminated the night.

”What on earth happened?” Xiao Chen was on the verge of tears, ”Xiao Ge, I think this hotel is cursed! Look how long weʼve lived here—how many times have the police come? I think we should change hotels tomorrow!”

The corner of Xiao Heʼs mouth twitched. He was indeed getting a psychological shadow about staying in this hotel: ”We should find another hotel.”

After all, this place would soon be uninhabitable.

Xiao He turned and said seriously, ”Before you pick the next hotel, tell me first.”

This time he would scout ahead and defuse any landmines, thank you very much.
