Thunderstorm Asthma? I’ll Just Drain the National Power Grid!

26: 10,000 contribution points! The Leaking Electricity Hero becomes rich overnight! The armored vehicle sped through the exclusive tunnel inside the base.

Inside the cabin, the atmosphere was terribly oppressive.

Several medical personnel were nervously treating Su Wanqing’s wounds, cutting open her corroded and tattered combat uniform, and performing emergency hemostasis and bandaging.

She had fallen into a coma, her face devoid of any color.

Lin Yuan was arranged in a corner, covered with a blanket.

He ached all over, as if he had been run over repeatedly by a dozen trucks.

Forcibly absorbing the electricity of an entire substation, the load on his Primordial Thunder God Body far exceeded his imagination.

At this moment, his meridians were burning with pain, and every cell in his body was protesting.

But he said nothing.

He just silently watched the medical personnel busy themselves, looking at Su Wanqing’s shocking wounds.

”Screech—”

The armored vehicle braked sharply, stopping below the medical department building.

The door opened.

A team of experts, already waiting, pushed a fully enclosed medical pod and rushed up.

”The injured person’s condition is critical, abyssal energy erosion, send her into Purification Pod One immediately!”

”Prepare Serum-G and life support system!”

Su Wanqing was carefully lifted into the medical pod, then quickly transported deep into the medical department.

From beginning to end, Lin Yuan didn’t get to say a single word to her.

”Mr. Lin Yuan, please follow me.”

A civilian staff member walked up to him and politely gestured ”please.”

”You need a comprehensive physical examination and will wait in the lounge for further questioning.”

Lin Yuan nodded and followed him into a pure white room.

After a series of scans by instruments he didn’t understand, he was led to a lounge.

”Please rest for a moment, Director Zhou will see you shortly.”

The civilian staff member finished speaking, then closed the door and left.

Lin Yuan was left alone in the room.

He lay on the sofa, letting out a long sigh.

The fatigue of his body surged like a tide.

Just as he was about to doze off.

”Click.”

The door to the lounge opened.

A chill followed.

Lin Yuan opened his eyes.

It was that crazy woman, Liu Yan.

She had changed out of her trench coat and was wearing a Dragon Shield Bureau combat uniform, which made her posture even more upright, but also colder.

She just stood at the doorway, not speaking, just looking at Lin Yuan with a scrutinizing gaze.

Lin Yuan felt uncomfortable under her gaze.

”What?” He broke the silence first, ”Do I have flowers growing on my face?”

Liu Yan slowly walked in, stopped in front of Lin Yuan, and spoke condescendingly:

”Stay away from Wanqing.”

Lin Yuan: ”...?”

He froze for a moment, then reacted, almost laughing in anger.

”No, big sister, are you mistaken about something?”

”She and I are partners, comrades-in-arms.” Lin Yuan sat up straight, emphasizing with a serious expression, ”We have a pure, unbreakable revolutionary friendship officially recognized by the Dragon Shield Bureau!”

”Why are you telling me to stay away from her?”

Liu Yan’s expression grew even colder because of the words ”revolutionary friendship.”

”Just because you’re a D-rank.”

”Just because you only survived this time because Wanqing risked her life to give you the chance.”

”A burden like you will only drag her down. You are not worthy of being her partner.”

Those words were a bit hurtful.

Lin Yuan’s expression also darkened.

He admitted that Su Wanqing had indeed saved him.

But he hadn’t done nothing either.

”When I saved her, you were still cruising around on the road with your siren on!”

”You!” Liu Yan’s anger ignited, and the airflow around her began to become unstable.

Just then.

”Lin Yuan, Captain Liu Yan.”

An officer pushed the door open, interrupting the tense atmosphere between the two.

”Director Zhou has asked you to go to the command center for a mission report.”

Liu Yan snorted coldly, glared fiercely at Lin Yuan, then turned and walked out first.

Lin Yuan pouted, got up from the sofa, and followed her.

As he walked, he muttered softly.

”How inexplicable... Did she eat gunpowder or something...?”

...In Zhou Weiguo’s office, the atmosphere was solemn.

The head of the Dragon Shield Bureau in Jiangcheng sat behind his desk, looking gravely at the two people in front of him.

”Begin.”

He glanced at Lin Yuan, ”Starting from when you entered the steel factory, report all the details.”

Liu Yan stood to the side, silent, clearly just observing.

Lin Yuan cleared his throat.

He described in detail how he and Su Wanqing discovered the underground laboratory, how they encountered an ambush, and how they were forced into a desperate situation.

When he mentioned the appearance of the Abyssal Lair Matriarch, both Zhou Weiguo and Liu Yan’s expressions changed.

”...The situation at the time was extremely critical.”

”Captain Su... Captain Su was seriously injured covering me.” Lin Yuan’s voice deepened a bit, ”She said she was a C-rank and could hold off the monster, telling me to retreat first.”

Liu Yan’s body trembled imperceptibly.

”But I couldn’t leave.”

Lin Yuan changed his tone and looked up.

”At that time, I had a flash of inspiration and thought of a brilliant plan!”

”There’s a substation right next to the factory! That’s a continuous source of energy!”

”So, I told Captain Su to hold on, and I rushed into the substation for a small... strategic recharge.”

He described the near-fatal, insane act as if it were a pleasant outdoor picnic.

”You know what happened next.”

”I absorbed enough power, my strength surged, and I went back and wiped out that Matriarch and her abyssal lair, all in one go.”

Lin Yuan spread his hands, concluding: ”The whole process was thrilling but without danger, completely under control.”

Liu Yan’s eyes twitched as she listened.

Completely under control?

If she hadn’t arrived in time, both of your bodies would be cold by now!

And strategic recharge?

That was suicide!

The office fell into a long silence.

Zhou Weiguo interlaced his fingers, resting them under his chin, eyes closed, seemingly digesting the information in Lin Yuan’s report.

After a long while.

He slowly opened his eyes.

”This ’Abnormal Energy Fluctuation at Abandoned Steel Factory’ mission, its nature has changed.”

”From the original ’C-rank Reconnaissance Mission,’ it is officially upgraded to a ’C-rank Annihilation Mission.’”

”Mission rating...”

Zhou Weiguo paused, his gaze sweeping over Lin Yuan.

”Perfect.”

Liu Yan’s pupils constricted sharply.

Perfect rating?!

The Dragon Shield Bureau’s mission ratings were extremely strict; most missions were considered good if they received a ”Good,” and ”Excellent” was rare.

As for ”Perfect”... that almost only existed in theory!

”Rewards will be settled based on mission contribution.”

Zhou Weiguo looked at the terminal beside him.

”Support team commander, Liu Yan.” Zhou Weiguo’s voice suddenly turned cold, ”Delayed support, nearly causing significant casualties, and holding prejudice against a meritorious mission participant, attempting to use force.”

His gaze was like a knife, falling on Liu Yan.

”Comprehensive assessment: 5000 contribution points confiscated as a warning to others!”

Liu Yan’s face instantly turned pale, she looked up, her eyes filled with disbelief.

Zhou Weiguo ignored her reaction and continued to announce:

”Mission executor, Su Wanqing, showed bravery and firm will, rewarded with 5000 contribution points and one major commendation.”

”Core mission executor, Lin Yuan...”

He looked at Lin Yuan, a hint of complexity in his eyes.

”In the mission, he played a decisive role, turned the tide of battle, and as a D-rank, independently completed the core objective of a C-rank annihilation mission.”

”Rewarded with 10000 contribution points!”

”And an additional S-rank special newcomer reward—one Thunder Source Crystal!”

Ten thousand?!

The strong contrast made Liu Yan’s body tremble with anger and humiliation.

She was fined five thousand, while this burden in her eyes, this guy who caused Wanqing’s serious injury, received a reward of ten thousand points?

Why?!

However, Lin Yuan, as the person involved, was completely baffled.

contribution points?

Thunder Source Crystal?

What are these things?

He scratched his head and asked a question that made everyone present freeze.

”Um... Director Zhou.”

”How much money can 10,000 contribution points be exchanged for, approximately?”

Pfft.

The recorder standing nearby couldn’t hold back a laugh, then quickly stifled it.

Zhou Weiguo was also stunned, then chuckled helplessly.

He shook his head and patiently explained: ”Lin Yuan, contribution points are the hard currency within the Dragon Shield Bureau and cannot be measured by money.”

”Let me put it this way.”

”One contribution point, if taken outside, is enough on the black market to ensure a normal family of three can live comfortably for a year.”

Lin Yuan’s eyes lit up.

1 point = a year of comfortable living?

Then 10,000 points... He counted on his fingers, feeling his brain wasn’t quite keeping up.

”contribution points can be exchanged for everything you need in the Dragon Shield Bureau’s internal exchange system.”

Zhou Weiguo said, bringing up a light screen and pushing it in front of Lin Yuan.

”Cultivation techniques, weapons, elixirs, heavenly materials and earthly treasures, and even access to various advanced cultivation facilities.”

Lin Yuan’s gaze was drawn to the dazzling list on the light screen.

[C-rank Cultivation Technique · Rushing Thunder Fist: 3000 contribution points]

[B-rank Battle Saber · Wind Cleaver: 8000 contribution points]

[D-rank Elixir · Body Tempering Pill (Ten Pills): 500 contribution points]

He was dazzled.

These things weren’t very useful to him.

Until... his gaze fixed on the bottom of the list, on an option highlighted in golden text.

[A-rank Authority · High-Energy Thunder Pool Cultivation Room (10 minutes / 5000 contribution points)]

High-Energy... Thunder Pool?

Lin Yuan looked at those words, then thought of his ten-minute Thunder Pool experience card.

Saliva almost dripped down.

To hell with cultivation techniques and weapons!

I want... I want to take a bath in that Thunder Pool!

A new, great life goal rose in Lin Yuan’s heart.
