Thunderstorm Asthma? I’ll Just Drain the National Power Grid!

1: Thunderstorm asthma? No, this is the Thunder God Body!Bang!

With a loud explosion, the wooden door of the rental apartment burst open, sending splinters flying.

”Lin Yuan, it’s time to pay up. One million, principal and interest.”

A cold voice echoed as three burly men with scarred faces walked in.

Brother Biao, the leader, wore a gold chain around his neck that could shackle a dog, and a sinister grin stretched across his face.

Lin Yuan was curled up on the sofa, his body trembling violently.

Seeing that he was barely breathing, one of the henchmen next to him spat impatiently:

”Useless trash, are you deaf? If you’re going to die, pay back the money first!”

Lin Yuan opened his mouth, but only a wheezing sound escaped his throat; he couldn’t utter a single word.

Brother Biao waved his hand impatiently:

”Damn it, search the place! Turn this dump upside down. I don’t believe he doesn’t have a single cent!”

The two henchmen immediately followed orders, rummaging through the rental apartment.

”Clatter—!”

A drawer was yanked out completely, spilling its contents onto the floor.

”Damn, Brother Biao, this guy is dirt poor. He doesn’t even have any valuable appliances.”

One henchman kicked open the bedroom door and even flipped the mattress.

The other henchman kicked over the coffee table, sending bottles and jars rolling across the floor. He picked up a medicine bottle and sneered:

”You spent all your money on these useless meds? What a sickly mess, you deserve to die poor!”

The noisy rummaging and harsh taunts, mixed with the rising dust, made it even harder for Lin Yuan to breathe.

He wanted to beg for mercy, to ask for a few more days, but the intense feeling of suffocation made even uttering a syllable a luxury.

”Alright, stop searching.”

The rummaging immediately ceased.

He pulled a dagger from his lower back.

”Don’t blame me; I’m just doing my job.”

”Who told a useless person like you to get sick when you don’t even have money?”

The cold blade pressed against Lin Yuan’s cheek.

A chill crept from his skin, deep into Lin Yuan’s bones.

The threat of death, mixed with the feeling of suffocation, blurred his vision, and his consciousness gradually sank into darkness.

His chest felt like it was being squeezed by a large hand, every breath incredibly difficult... It was that damned old ailment again—thunderstorm asthma.

Whenever it was rainy or the atmospheric pressure suddenly changed, this deadly illness would flare up.

It’s over.

This thought flashed through Lin Yuan’s mind.

His parents had died in a car accident years ago, leaving him only this strange illness and a mountain of debt.

To treat his illness, he had exhausted his savings, borrowed from all his relatives and friends, and finally had no choice but to take out a usurious loan.

Now, with interest compounding, it had ballooned into an astronomical sum he could never repay in his lifetime.

Well, dying would be a release.

He closed his eyes in despair, giving up the struggle.

Just as his heartbeat was about to stop and his breathing was about to cease.

“Host vital signs detected nearing zero…”

“System awakening conditions met…”

“god-tier charging system, activating!”

“Activation successful!”

“Warning: The Host’s accumulated free charges are too complex and are currently being sorted and converted…”

“System notification: The so-called ‘thunderstorm asthma’ is actually a precursor to the awakening of the ‘Primordial Thunder God Body’. Due to a special constitution, during thunderstorms or high-pressure environments, the body unconsciously attracts free charges from the air. The chaotic charges lead to spasms in the respiratory tract and all muscles, resembling asthma.”

“Currently converting this negative status into a constitutional talent…”

“Conversion progress 10%... 50%... 100%!”

“Conversion complete! Congratulations, Host, you have successfully awakened the ‘Primordial Thunder God Body’!”

A series of notification sounds echoed in Lin Yuan’s mind.

The next second, a faint electric current flashed across his chest.

The suffocating sensation vanished into thin air.

Lin Yuan suddenly opened his eyes, gasping for air.

His pupils, once unfocused from lack of oxygen, now re-coalesced, shining with astonishing brilliance.

”Oh? Not wheezing anymore?”

Brother Biao saw Lin Yuan’s sudden ”resurgence,” a flicker of surprise crossed his face, followed by an even more sinister grin.

”Still faking illness for me, huh? I think you’re asking for a beating!”

He put away his knife, clenched his right fist, and swung it towards Lin Yuan’s face.

In Lin Yuan’s vision, he saw a faint reddish aura subtly swirling around Brother Biao’s fist!

What… was that?

In a flash, countless urban legends and forum secrets that Lin Yuan had once seen online but were quickly deleted, flashed through his mind.

— ”Shocking! Superman spotted somewhere, flipping cars with bare hands!” (404 Not Found)

— ”Discussion on the authenticity of the ’Inner World,’ do ancient martial arts and superpowers really exist?” (Post deleted)

— ”Exposing the mysterious ’Dragon Shield Bureau,’ are they the Men in Black in real life?” (Account banned)

In the past, he had dismissed these as idle fantasies.

But now, looking at Brother Biao’s clearly abnormal punch, coupled with his own Primordial Thunder God Body.

An absurd thought exploded in his mind: ”Could this world really be divided into an ’Outer World’ where ordinary people live, and an ’Inner World’ where extraordinary powers are hidden?”

And this loan shark in front of him, was he a so-called ”ancient martial arts practitioner”?

Before the thought had fully formed, the sense of mortal danger had already made Lin Yuan’s body react before his brain could.

He didn’t even know why he was doing it; he just instinctively raised his arm, holding it in front of his face.

”Bang!”

Fist met arm.

”Sizzle—!!!”

A blue electric arc suddenly exploded where the two made contact!

Lin Yuan felt that the newly awakened current in his body had found an outlet, automatically erupting outwards.

”Ow—!!!”

Brother Biao let out a tragic scream, his entire body convulsing as if struck by high voltage.

Accompanied by a smell of something burning.

He instantly transformed into a charred, smoking afro!

His eyes rolled back, and he foamed at the mouth.

He fell straight backward, hitting the ground heavily, his limbs still twitching uncontrollably.

The two henchmen at the door were utterly dumbfounded.

They watched with their own eyes as their boss, just by touching that kid, turned into this state.

Lin Yuan was also stunned.

He looked down at his hand, then at the uniquely styled ”afro” Brother Biao on the ground.

What was that just now?

Static electricity?

”You… what the hell did you do to Brother Biao!”

One of the henchmen reacted, his voice trembling, but he still shouted at Lin Yuan with false bravado.

”Kid, you just wait! This isn’t over!”

The two exchanged glances, then scrambled to Brother Biao’s side.

They each hoisted up their still-twitching boss and fled the terrifying rental apartment.

Inside the room, quiet finally returned.

Only Lin Yuan remained, standing in the center of the room, staring blankly at his palms.

He tried to recall the feeling from just now, that tingling sensation that erupted from within his body.

”My illness…”

Lin Yuan murmured to himself, his eyes filled with confusion.

”It seems… something’s not right?”
