Thunderstorm Asthma? I’ll Just Drain the National Power Grid!

12: Shocking everyone! He calls this barely passing? The first part of the final assessment was a comprehensive physical fitness test.

”First up, the 100-meter sprint!”

Instructor Battle Axe’s voice echoed across the training ground.

With a whistle, the first group of recruits dashed out.

Lin Yuan was assigned to the third group.

He stretched his limbs, feeling the surging power within his body.

After a week of ”digestion,” the energy from the Thunder Pool had completely merged with his physical body.

He was no longer the sickly person who would gasp for breath after a few steps, but a fierce beast in human skin.

It was time to show these people his ”passing grade.”

”Ready!”

Lin Yuan crouched down, his feet firmly planted on the ground.

The whistle blew!

He pushed off the ground with his feet, launching himself forward!

”So fast!”

Instructor Waraxe, on the high platform, his pupils slightly contracted.

The other recruits beside him only felt a blur before their eyes; Lin Yuan’s figure had already shot to the front.

Six seconds and three milliseconds!

When Lin Yuan crossed the finish line and the numbers on the electronic timer froze, the entire training ground fell into a dead silence.

And this was just the beginning.

The second item was weighted bench press.

The barbell’s weight started at 80 kilograms, increasing with each round.

When other recruits reached 150 kilograms, they were already starting to exhaust themselves.

It was Lin Yuan’s turn.

He lay on the bench press, easily lifting, lowering, and lifting the barbell again.

180 kilograms.

200 kilograms.

220 kilograms!

When this weight was added, the assistant coach responsible for recording even had trembling hands.

This had already exceeded the scope of new recruit training!

Lin Yuan stretched his shoulders, then lay down.

He took a deep breath, gripping the barbell with both hands.

Up!

The heavy barbell was steadily pushed up by him, his movements precise, without the slightest tremor.

The entire venue was silent.

Li Wei watched this scene, his teeth grinding audibly.

Impossible! This is absolutely impossible!

A week ago, this guy was a good-for-nothing who couldn’t even run five kilometers!

The subsequent tests completely turned into Lin Yuan’s personal show.

For pull-ups, he could do fifty continuously with one hand.

For the endurance test, he ran for a full hour on a high-speed treadmill, his breathing still steady.

The numbers on the record board were refreshed again and again.

Lin Yuan’s name, from an inconspicuous position, soared all the way up, finally stopping at third place.

When the final comprehensive physical fitness results were announced, everyone erupted.

”Third overall?! Are you kidding me!”

”The two ahead of him are one, an heir of a Baguazhang family, and the other, a descendant of an ancient martial artist with innate divine strength—both are monsters specializing in physical enhancement! How can he compare?!”

”This kid... he hid it too well!”

Amidst the uproar, Lin Yuan simply drank water calmly.

He was quite satisfied with his score.

After all, he was just a ”poor student with worrying efficiency,” so he couldn’t perform too exaggeratedly and take first place, right?

That wouldn’t fit his persona of ”barely passing.”

”Physical test concluded.”

Instructor Waraxe’s voice rang out.

He scanned the entire venue, finally settling his gaze on Lin Yuan.

”Now, I will announce a comprehensive evaluation.”

”New recruit Lin Yuan, full marks in the first energy fine-control assessment. In this comprehensive physical fitness test, he achieved third place overall.”

Instructor Waraxe paused, then announced each word clearly.

”According to the Dragon Shield Bureau’s new recruit grading regulations, his overall performance has far exceeded the passing line.”

”This means that even if Lin Yuan does not participate in the upcoming combat sparring, he can directly receive an excellent rating of B-rank or above, officially becoming a member of the Dragon Shield Bureau.”

Boom!

This statement was more explosive than any of the previous results.

B-rank rating!

That was a treatment only a few geniuses could achieve!

Lin Yuan himself was momentarily stunned.

There’s such a good thing?

No need to fight? Directly promoted?

He was overjoyed.

Fighting is so tiring, and if he gets injured, he’ll have to pay for treatment.

Now he could just lie flat and get a high salary; this was simply a dream start.

”Next, we will begin the grouping lottery for combat sparring.”

Instructor Battle Axe’s words brought Lin Yuan’s thoughts back.

On the large screen, all the recruits’ names scrolled.

Lin Yuan now just wanted to casually draw an opponent, go through the motions, and then collect his B-rank employee card.

However, just as the lottery was about to begin...

”Wait a minute!”

A sharp voice interrupted the process.

Li Wei walked out of the ranks, heading straight to the foot of the high platform, with everyone’s eyes on him.

He extended his finger, pointing at Lin Yuan in the crowd.

”Instructor, I request to spar with Lin Yuan in the first match!”

His gesture was full of provocation.

”I want to tear off his disguised mask in front of everyone!”

Instructor Waraxe’s gaze fell on Li Wei; he didn’t answer immediately, just watched him quietly.

A discordant, frenzied aura emanated from Li Wei.

That aura didn’t completely belong to a D-rank - Condensation Realm, but rather seemed to be catalyzed by some external force.

Li Wei didn’t notice the instructor’s scrutiny; all his attention at this moment was on Lin Yuan.

He taunted wildly: ”A guy who only relies on petty cleverness to cheat and pretends to be sick to gain sympathy, is he worthy of a B-rank rating?”

”So what if his physical fitness is good? It’s just brute force!”

”Real combat relies on the application of energy, on life-and-death struggle! Do you dare?”

”You’re just a coward who only dares to hide behind and pull off petty, underhanded tricks, not even daring to fight head-on!”

The surrounding recruits whispered, many showing expressions of watching a good show.

Lin Yuan couldn’t be bothered with him.

Just a mad dog barking, he didn’t need to stoop to his level.

Anyway, the B-rank rating was already in hand; he could let him revel in his own excitement.

He was about to turn and leave.

But Li Wei’s next words made him stop.

”I heard your parents died very early, because of a car accident on a rainy night?”

Li Wei’s face held a sense of malicious pleasure.

”It seems you were born a jinx, not only did you bring death to your parents, but now you also rely on pretending to be pitiful to gain sympathy. How pathetic!”

The entire training ground fell silent.

No one expected Li Wei to say such vicious words.

Su Wanqing, who was observing from the stands, also changed her expression.

Lin Yuan’s previously lazy demeanor vanished.

He slowly turned around.

There was no sign of anger on his face, only a terrifying calmness.

His parents were his only inverse scale.

He walked out of the crowd step by step, came before Li Wei, then turned to Instructor Waraxe on the high platform.

”Instructor.”

His voice was utterly devoid of emotion.

”I accept his challenge.”

Instructor Waraxe gave him a deep look, then nodded.

”Agreed.”

Lin Yuan and Li Wei, one after another, walked onto the central combat arena.

As the two brushed past each other.

Li Wei whispered in a barely audible voice, audible only to them both, into his ear.

”Kid, you can’t escape this time, can you?”

”I’ll make you beg me!”
