7: A promotion beyond the usual ranks! A top-secret order from the bureau chief!”Connect the circuit? Let the electricity pass through?”

Lin Yuan’s simple rhetorical question silenced the entire training ground for a moment.

The instructor was stunned, Su Wanqing was stunned, and the group of newcomers waiting to see a joke were also stunned.

What kind of outrageous words were these?

We’re here desperately controlling energy output, with wind blades and mental power, making it as delicate as embroidery.

But you, on the other hand, just treated the whole thing as a distribution box, and directly connected the main switch?

”Cheating! He’s definitely cheating!”

A sharp cry broke the silence.

Li Wei’s face was flushed, his finger almost poking Lin Yuan’s nose.

”He must have used some hacking technique to infiltrate the test stand’s system! Otherwise, how could a newly awakened good-for-nothing light up ten crystal balls!”

”Right! He must have cheated!”

”I knew it, how could someone with connections have such strength!”

Li Wei’s followers reacted and loudly echoed, trying to incite the emotions of the other newcomers around them.

Many newcomers who were already dissatisfied with Lin Yuan’s ”cutting in line” also showed suspicious expressions.

After all, ten crystal balls all lit up – this score was too exaggerated, completely beyond their comprehension.

Watching the agitated crowd, Lin Yuan hadn’t had a chance to speak yet.

”May I assume you are questioning the testing standards of our Dragon Shield Bureau?”

Waraxe’s voice came, carrying a hint of pressure.

He leaped down from the high platform and walked step by step to Li Wei.

Li Wei’s shouting got stuck in his throat, and he froze in place.

”This ’Energy Precision Control Tester’ was developed by the General Bureau’s Research Institute and has a dual isolation system with physical and energy layers internally.”

Waraxe stretched out a finger and tapped the metal base.

”On the physical level, it doesn’t connect to any external network. On the energy level, it has its own formation barrier.”

”Let alone you, even if an A-rank - Condensation Realm master were to come personally, it would be impossible to infiltrate its circuit without triggering the alarm.”

Impossible to infiltrate.

These words completely shattered Li Wei’s last struggle.

Waraxe no longer looked at him, turning instead to Lin Yuan, and announced: ”Lin Yuan, the first assessment, Energy Precision Control, score — perfect!”

Perfect score!

As these two words came out, the whole place was in an uproar.

Waraxe immediately added an evaluation: ”Ingenious thinking, excellent results. You are the first to treat an energy circuit like a circuit board to operate.”

Although these words were praise, they made everyone’s mouths twitch.

What the hell is a circuit board!

Li Wei felt his face burning, as if he had been slapped a dozen times in public.

His score of six crystal balls became a joke in front of Lin Yuan’s ”perfect score.”

Waraxe didn’t give everyone much time to process their shock.

”The first assessment is over!”

He announced loudly.

”From now on, you will undergo a week-long closed training camp. Content includes basic physical strengthening, military combat techniques, and basic theories of energy application.”

”In one week, the final assessment will take place.”

Waraxe scanned everyone.

”The assessment content is divided into two parts: physical fitness test and practical combat sparring.”

”The results of the final assessment will directly determine your retention, as well as the initial rating and resource allocation you will receive after joining the Dragon Shield Bureau in the future.”

As his voice fell, all the newcomers’ expressions became solemn.

Retention.

Resource allocation.

These were the most crucial points.

After the assessment ended, the crowd dispersed.

Su Wanqing did not follow the team but immediately turned and walked quickly towards the core area of the base.

Director’s office.

Zhou Weiguo was looking at the repair report for the West City power grid when Su Wanqing walked in.

”Director.”

”Xiao Su, how was it? How did that ’short-circuit hero’ perform in the assessment?” Zhou Weiguo asked casually.

”Reporting, Director, in the first Energy Precision Control assessment, Lin Yuan scored a perfect score.” Su Wanqing’s report was as concise as ever.

Zhou Weiguo’s movements stopped.

He looked up, a little surprised: ”Perfect score? All ten lit up?”

”Yes.”

”How did he do it?”

Su Wanqing was silent for a moment, seemingly organizing her words.

”He said... he just connected the circuit and let the electricity pass through.”

Zhou Weiguo was stunned.

He leaned back in his chair, lost in thought.

”Connect the circuit...”

He murmured to himself, and in his mind, two things were quickly connected.

The first was the final analysis report on the West City blackout just submitted by the technical department.

The report indicated that the electrical energy that night was not consumed or destroyed, but rather ”devoured” and transferred in an extremely efficient manner.

The second was Lin Yuan’s seemingly incredible explanation.

A bold hypothesis formed in Zhou Weiguo’s mind.

What if Lin Yuan’s ability, at its core, was not simply ”controlling lightning,” but a higher-level ”devouring” and ”transforming” all forms of electrical energy?

What if he could extend his own bio-electric field, turning external energy circuits into a part of his body, into his own ”nerve endings”?

Then, for him, the so-called ”connecting the circuit” would truly be as simple as a normal person moving their fingers!

This hypothesis was too astonishing, but it perfectly explained everything.

Zhou Weiguo’s heart began to beat a little faster.

He saw a prodigy with terrifying potential.

But potential, after all, is just potential.

The final practical combat sparring was the key to life and death.

Lin Yuan currently had the energy intensity of an E-rank, but lacked any combat skills, so he had no chance against someone like Li Wei, who was a D-rank - Condensation Realm.

A week was too short.

Unconventional methods must be used to help him grow quickly!

In Zhou Weiguo’s mind, the deepest, classified area of the base appeared.

He looked at Su Wanqing and gave an order.

”Xiao Su.”

Zhou Weiguo stood up.

”Take him to the ’Thunder Pool’.”
