Reborn in the Eighties as a Housewife with a Space

Chapter 2205: Chapter 2199: It’s Still Dangerous to Be Alone

”It’s good that you’re okay now. It doesn’t seem like a major problem, as long as first aid is performed properly, it won’t endanger his life. But it’s still an acute illness; if no one is around when it strikes, it can be quite dangerous.” Qin Xue couldn’t quite determine if this counted as a serious illness, but for someone who is ill, it is painful. After all, nobody wants to get sick.

”Yes, that’s what the doctor told us. They even asked if our family has a history of this illness.” Su Jin didn’t know, so she couldn’t explain clearly.

It was only after her husband came home and asked around that they found out an elder in the family had had this illness. The doctor then mentioned it might be hereditary, advising them to observe closely and see if the child is allergic to anything, which could trigger the illness.

Both husband and wife agreed, so after the child stabilized, they were discharged and returned home.

Although her husband has a job with a decent income, their family’s finances were truly tight now; the hospital costs for the child were considerable. They had no choice but to bring the child home to recuperate.

”Yes, pay close attention to the child’s overall physical condition and avoid anything that might trigger the illness. That would be safer.” Qin Xue wasn’t specialized in this area, so she couldn’t really offer any advice.

However, she did know that besides brain electrical activity, epilepsy can be triggered by certain factors.

Brain activity is beyond external control, but triggers are manageable. As family members, they can only approach prevention from this angle.

”Are you planning to stay home to care for the child now?” Qin Xue asked Su Jin.

”Yes, I haven’t had a job, and I’ve always been home taking care of the child. Occasionally, I do some sewing. Oh, the elder said you were looking for me, is there something you need? And here’s this, thank you for saving Mingming.” Su Jin asked Qin Xue, feeling uncertain as the elder hadn’t explained why Qin Xue was looking for her.

”No need to thank me. As I said, it’s my duty as a doctor. When faced with someone who’s ill, helping them is my responsibility, so stop thanking me. I’m not here for anything urgent. I heard from the elder you can do embroidery, is that right?” Qin Xue was anxious, but looking at Su Jin, she didn’t want to pressure her, fearing it might make her feel burdened.

”Yes, my grandmother taught me when I was young. Unfortunately, she’s gone to another world, and since I have nothing to do, I’ve done some embroidery for home use.” It wasn’t that she didn’t want to sell them; it just wasn’t legal. She thought selling them as home goods wouldn’t be a problem.

”Are you interested in working for me? Besides a base salary, there are commissions based on how much you produce or how well the embroidery sells, and I’ll share the profits with you.” Qin Xue contemplated having her work there, appreciating her stable temperament. As for the embroidery skills, she hadn’t seen them yet, so she couldn’t decide on a monthly salary.

”But you don’t have a...” Su Jin looked around Qin Xue’s home, realizing it didn’t seem like a place for business.

”My shop isn’t at home. It’s currently under renovation, and we’re in the recruiting phase. I heard from the elder you can do embroidery, so I’d like you to work for me. I’m just not sure if you’re interested?” Qin Xue poured her a glass of water.

”Thank you, but why are you inviting me to work here? Aren’t you afraid of me?” Su Jin, having a cleft hand, was often marginalized even by her own family, who treated her differently. She grew up with her grandmother, and those prejudices led to a broken engagement.

Indeed, she’d suffered a lot of injustices, yet now someone was actively seeking her help in work. It was hard for her to believe what she heard.
